Gadget is the perfect example of this at least until the desktop version gets paid updates since all Gadgets are included. When not on sale the iOS version of Gadget (with all IAPs and support apps (Module, iM1, Odyssei, Mono/Poly, iWavestation with all their respective IAPs) is actually more expensive than the Desktop version at it's regular price-point.
But I don't mind I love Gadget on iOS
If you haven't used the waves plugins you bought, why look at another eq already? Cutting or boosting the wrong frequencies (I tend to cut 95% of the time) will not be any better on a "better" eq.
It's true there's a lot of issues when purchasing plugins at this price-point.
At least in Auria plugins there is an upgrade path Pro-L 1 to 2 for example.
For PrO-Q3 if that happens it would be at full price again. This puts me off.
I use this a lot https://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
You never know, it might help. They will be read.
It never made sense to me to buy a DAW I didn’t choose to use just to get access to the plugins. Too much workflow overhead. Regarding pricing, don’t forget that developers can bundle iOS apps as well. And FabFilter have a history of sales. All we have to go on right now is the individual cost of a FabFilter plugin on the desktop vs the individual cost of the plugin on iOS. = Bargain!
Personally, I think this thread should be a bit of a celebration. This could be a pivotal release for the viability of music production on iOS going forward. We have the innovative indie developers that we know and love and the open source innovation from the AudioKit team to inspire new creative apps. And now we have a very established major name investing more in the platform and opening up what is considered one of the best studio tools in the world to all iOS musicians. Apple and the other studio players will be taking note hopefully.
This is awesome news!
Can't say I'm note tempted to have a surgical EQ with a proper live histogram in my arsenal but since Cubasis is my main DAW and from what I've read parts of the Pro-Q 2's UI are hidden when using the old standard sized AUv3 view.
I do hope @LFS and his team are working on re-sizable AUv3 view for the next Cubasis update or maybe even considering adding more live feedback to the stock plug-ins?(A live-histogram for Waves Q10 would be nice).
Who knows, maybe there will be some crazy FabFilters sales down the line when the next bunch of plug-ins drop
For all who are NEW to Pro-Q 2, how’s it going?
Sure there are many new users/customers who don’t have Auria/Pro or didn’t own it within, or don’t own it on desktop.
What say you, about the app, not so much the price. etc..
Sound.
User interface.
Tweak-ability.
Features.
Feelings..
etc etc.. and so on and so forth.

I will be doing a video review later today
Nice!

Howdy, how do you get the piano to pop up?
Question !!
Can you save Reference Spectrums ?
Oh yeah!
When I asked about the user presets:
—————
“Currently it isn't possible to save your presets inside the Pro-Q 2 AUv3 plugin on iOS, but we're looking to do something about this in the future. This does require a bit of work, so we decided to ship without internal preset save support first, since many hosts offer it as well. But we definitely see the value in saving presets internally as well..
Cheers,
Frederik (FabFilter) — Jul 17, 2018”

Bottom left corner.
Op! I see it now. Thanks, just learned about that feature.
Little keyboard icon, bottom left corner.

We all posting same time, good vibes!

Internal preset saving is a must until Apple fixes the broken AUv3 preset handling in iOS...
Ie. give AUv3 Plug-Ins a common place to save presets similar to /Library/Audio/Presets/ on macOS so that the AUv3 Plug-Ins can read & write the presets to one common place regardless of the host that is being used.
You can freeze the spectrum. Don’t think you can save that though.
Why would you need that/when would you use it, out of interest (asking for friend)

There's usually more than meets the eyes in fabfilter plugins. I suggest you watch tutorials on their youtube channel. Always very informative and essential to be good at mixing and mastering.
Yep and yep!
I also mentioned that it would not only be for Pro-Q 2, but for the others on their way, and maybe more so.

I have a drum loop sound that I like to emulate in other loop, I know that in Mac/Windows you can freeze the spectrum and save as a reference, I try in Auria but can’t ..
wishing if I can do it in this AU version
(u can use EQ match by side-chain, but “ref spec” is easy and quick)
(and if you like how sound “eq” a song and you try to emulate...)
I’ve been watching the introductions and tutorials on FabFilter’s YouTube channel. They are very clear and concise. The narrator’s voice soothes my soul. He needs his own ASMR channel.
Yeah Dan is a beast. Some people even suggested once there is Dan Worrall and then Morgan Freeman on the top narrator superstars list
Regarding the keyboard:
I asked if we could either have the frequency read out, which is along the bottom, also along the top. Or along the top when the keyboard is displayed.
Don’t know if there is a reply yet, been chatting on here, hehe.

Yes makes sense, and it’s different to just saving a preset, because the material you are trying to sculpt can be totally different. (Kick1 vs kick2 etc)
What I wrote ^ makes sense in my head anyway..

Added: there is sidechain edit, that might be a possibility also, haven’t tried it yet.
With this you can see the spectrum of two inputs, layered on each other, from there you could tweak to match.
This is just another idea, many ways etc..
And I’m in the writing mood (well was) now I’m hungry.
Oh believe me, I've watched em all twice. Not only are they terse and the perfect length, Dan Worrall has the best voice for narration. I love when he overstresses syllables or words and makes them really sharp sometimes.
Edit: I see that has been covered in my short absence
I'd seriously pay to have Dan Worrall do my outgoing voicemail message.
Those videos are instant inspiration to me; makes you want to go straight to your studio space and do work.
"Let's give a slight boost in the 4k region, giving air & bite to the percussion elements."
[drool]
No, no, no you got it all wrong!
"Let's give a slight boost in the 4k region, giving air & BITE to the percussion elements."
Some great sibilance, and that stress on bite really hammers it home.
I do find it funny that the Pro-DS tutorial could use a little Pro-DS itself.
Dan Worrall is the best.....since the old Alchemy tutorials i love what he does.
His voice has a kind of magic effect.
I'm actually going to look up those tutorials right now. Just to listen to that voice
