The expansion pack also adds extra 65 programs in Glasgow with new PCMs.
But you would be right: this pack is mostly for the musicians who use Module for stage etc.
Personally I want a rack option in Gadget to control multiple plugins in one place.
That would be a very welcome addition
(It's could be an Input/Output Matrix similar to what's present in AUM and ApeMatrix).
Don't know if it's been discussed there ate Korg but I would really, I mean really love to see a way to do more dynamic performance using the screen and being able to control the velocity of the recorded events.
(Or at least set the default velocity for the events that are drawn).
There's already a Y-Axis velocity keyboard in Module and in the 'Madrid' Gadget so to me it would make sense to add this feature to other Gadgets and Korg apps (iM1, iWaveStation, Odyssei, iPolySix etc.) as well.
The 'keyboard/kaoss pad' present in iM1 with added Y-Axis velocity would add another layer of expressivity to Gadget.
Also the 'Drum Gadgets' could use some kind of control over velocity.
I know I've 'vented' the lack of dynamic performance in the now closed Korg Forums but I have now clue if it's even being considered
(I do own the nanoKey Studio already but I don't always carry it with me).
The 'wavetable synth' from Electribe Wave would make an awesome Gadget as well.
If you're allowed to share some of the scheduled features for Gadget I think all of us here would be super interested
Cheers & Thanks for the update!
Hi @ioue thanks for clearing that up. Sounds like great feature for people using Module on stage as you mention. Not so much for us Gadget Heads 😉 I'll pass on this one and start organising my library of REX files
@ioue any plans for an Ableton style clip launching mode...it’s already partially there...maybe just need a toggle when you drop the mixer section down and expose the scenes?
If this could then be recorded into an arrangement view I would pay dearly for this 😎
@ioue please look into the sticking keys problem. As of KG2 the onscreen keys are less responsive even at lower latencies, they often get stuck. I remember in past versions using the keyboards was a more fluid experience than now.
hello @ioue
welcome back to the thread... much like @espiegel123 I was holding off on updating until problems solved etc.. So previous 2 updates i didn’t do. this new one today I did take a chance on.
BUT it seems all my user presets have disappeared!? well, not all, lexington and Ms20 have some in there but all the standard gadgets like tokyo, berlin etc now have NO user presets visible..
have i missed something somewhere?
can anybody help me here?
i have rebooted the ipad... this thread is a bit too long to sift through to look for clues..
I will, but first of all, try restarting your iOS device?
Also could you report issues through https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new ?
This is the one single route to communicate with users, although Davis and I someone's come here to talk with you guys
My Stockholm still is not remembering my presets and I am not able to download from iCloud.
I will check asap. Please report if you guys have similar problems with the lastest version.
thanks @ioue , info: ipad pro 2nd gen 10.5 on ios 11.4.1
i will report it through that official channel you linked when i get back from the shops..
@ioue Thanks for the Stockholm update and dropping by here.
This update doesn’t load my .m4a samples in Bilbao, Vancouver, etc.
Many of my samples are 16bit, 44k m4a (smaller size than wav). Gadget even worked with mp3 samples before. Gadget’s file browser plays them, but they won’t load.
Hopefully this is a matter of switching this format on again?
Haven’t experienced this personally (iPad Pro 9.7, iOS12).
All my presets in the standard (and extra) gadgets are fine.
In one of the interim releases, people were reporting problems moving files between the cloud and local.
Are those issues resolved?
@ioue @davis_korgrd any plans for AUv3 FX in Gadget?
Thank you for reporting.
Can you load the presets which uses rx2s already downloaded in iCloud?
I would like to make sure whether the files used in your preset "exist" on your device or not.
@ioue it seems after today’s update that I can no longer see Rx2 files that are in iCloud, but not downloaded to the device. I tested with regular Samples in Vancouver and it seems to work as before, with all files (downloaded or not) being visible. But in Stockholm I can ONLY see rx2 files that are downloaded. Before today’s update I could see all rx2 files in iCloud Drive.
Since the iPad will often offload files, there is no possibility for the user to force them to stay downloaded, this is very annoying.
I must note that I am on iPadOS 13 dev. Beta 4 in case that is the reason, but as I said, it worked fine before.
I'm on IOS 12.3 and have the same problem. I had to resort back to using the .rx2 files I copied to my Gadget folder via iFunbox.
iOS12.4 was just released. I don't use iCloud for my Gadget files so no issues here...
@ioue
After the last update I cannot longer import sound files from Dropbox into Bilbao. It works well from Audioshare, from iCloud, etc except from Dropbox. I tap on the file but nothing happens.
@Peter321 @Dham
First of all, is your version v4.3.1?
Not downloaded files in iCloud are invisible. That is the "normal" behavior from v4.2.0. So I'm honestly surprised to hear you can (still) see not-downloaded files in the Vancouver browser.
I want to address this behavior, but this is not "hot-fixable" thing.
@Rodolfo
From my investigation, Files.app with Dropbox integration is slow somehow in this moment. But I'm sure it works.
I checked it with v4.3.0 and v4.3.1.
Could you let me know the situation is not getting better.
@Rodolfo
do you know that they made a change in Bilbao recently that utilizes the file mgmt approach of Vancouver and 3 Audio Gadgets? The direct-import from Dropbox is no longer effective.
@ioue
yes, I have noticed importing in Bilbao is now sluggish after changing to the newer file mgmt approach.
Just tried again and now it works fine. As you say, it seems there was some problem with the Dropbox integration.
Thank you!
Yes I know, but now it’s working again, it seems there are some random issues between Dropbox and Files apps.
Hi @ioue Thanks for looking into this. Yes I am using 4.3.1. As you can see here, in Vancouver I can see all files, even if they are not downloaded - but there is no indication as to IF they are downloaded or not (like in the old browser - that would be nice). It used to work the same way in the previous update in Stockholm, but no more.
i guess i was thinking more "traditional hardware setup" (a bunch of synths and drum machines run through a mixer with insert fx) than "groovebox". no, i don't really expect an EQ more powerful than what we already have. i can see it's usefulness, but it's not something that i'd expect from Gadget.
Not sure why you wouldn’t expect a simple 6 band Parametric EQ like that of BM3, when it would be pretty simple for them to do... they already have a 3 band with sweepable mid and Q.
Why not just add another 3 band when needed?
To me it would be better if they spent time on adding 'track2track routing', busses & groups (with option to expand & collaps a group of tracks), a proper 'time line' better tools for editing automation etc. etc.
With 'track2track routing' one track could be used to add 5 IFXs and then sent further to yet another track if that's not enough.
Also something like Pop-Up oscilloscope / spectrum analyser per track could assist in visually ironing out problem frequencies especially if it had a 'track overlay' to show spectrum from multiple tracks at once.
For for me #1 request would a well featured sampler & synth (Merge Bilbao, Vancouver and Wolfsburg with added sampling/re-sampling & sample-editing). #2 would bebe time-line and clip-launching at least on par with GarageBand...
But for now I'm just waiting for the two new Gadgets to drop
(Even with all the other apps available I still love Gadget).
@ioue it seems rather odd to move from the old setup where I could see all my files, whether they were in the cloud or not...to one where I cant see any if they are not downloaded...surely as a user I want to do as I have previously and go through my personally selected samples and download from within Gadget? What sparked the change in functionality ?
Also the way I imported samples from Dropbox where I could preview samples from the cloud from my full multiple gig sample library without taking up any space was a great workflow...why remove it ?
Not the same... cmon brother. Plus, I’m highly skeptical of the accuracy of their current frequency readings. This is evident especially on the low end.
All great ideas... and if they’re going to provide a Spectral Analyzer then they’d be able to provide a proper Parametric EQ. Heck, if Intua has it, Korg could deliver.
Doubt that’ll happen, but pays to dream. All they have to do is update Bilbao and Vancouver with a few features that (the code) already exist in other gadgets. But that won’t generate (short-term) money so doubt that’s going to happen.
I don’t see where we are getting these 2 new Gadgets. I think it was typical Marketing fuzziness and the Gadgets went to Switch.
