Occasionally Octachron doesn’t respond to program changes at all, to switch patterns in AUM. Set up midi monitor and the midi messages are being received but the patterns don’t switch.

    Hey @girlvsworld,

Thx for reaching out in this nice forum 😊 Actually, Octachron does by default not respond to program MIDI change messages at all. Please send MIDI notes on messages to change patterns instead. Please also see the chapters MAPPING and EXTERNAL CONTROL VIA MIDI in our manual on this:

    https://www.octachron.de/manual.html

    Does this help?

Best greetings from Munich, Tas & Markus 🙂

Well amazing because sending program change messages works about 93% of the time in AUM! Thanks Tas & Markus

It would be great if I could switch patterns with a note command. Yes, the instructions say something like that...Activate Pattern 1=Note 9, Activate Pattern 2=Note 10, etc. But nothing happens (Cubasis, Drambo...tried everything. Everything works with the other sequencers rozeta, polybeat, etc.)
Would be great if someone had a solution.

  • @TasTax Just wanna say what a great app this has become and thank you! Bought it a long time ago and never used it much but have just rediscovered it and how much it's developed over time and found that it is now the perfect thing to tame both Splat-to-Clat and FAC DrumKit and make them both into the amazing tools I knew they could be. Love and respect!

Thank you both so much! 🙂 … and if you have some time, it would be really great if you could also leave us a little nice review on the App Store. This just helps us so much. But anyway, keep enjoying!✌️😊

  • @TasTax : I’m just looking into this app now as a result of MobileMusicPro’s review . As I understand it, Ochatron is primarily a drum sequencer ? Can I enter polyphonic chords into it as well ? (Sorry for the noob question, lol).

    Hey @Telstar5

Thx for reaching out. And no worry, that’s no dumb question at all 🙂 And it’s right, Octachron is optimized for drums but also fun for basic melodies. And also chords. Currently, you can trigger up to eight notes at once. And we also plan to rise this to 16 soon. Does this help?

    Hey @zeta , (are you Martin? 🙂)

Thx for reaching out here. But I’m sorry, unfortunately its not possible to use MIDI notes to control Octachron via MIDI notes if its used as an AUv3. This just works in standalone mode. In AUv3 mode the parameters are exposed as AUv3 Parameters though! In Drambo you can Map them and should be possible to use them in for Parameter Lock (see screenshot). Im not too deep into Drambo but AUM allows you to map MIDI notes through the “MIDI CTRL” feature.

    Is this helpfu?
    Cheers,

    Tas and Markus

@TasTax I’m on the iPad beta. Will there be a separate iPhone beta when you’re developing it or will it become available on the current one?

I’ll be very happy to put it through its paces 👍

    Hey @gregsmith,

Thx, We are not quite sure about the technical setup yet, but we will try to put you into the phone beta too. If we forget, please ask again but it will still take some time. Currently, we still have to do some refactoring.

    Best greetings 🙂

Thanks. I’ll keep an eye out 👍

  • @TasTax I wonder if VADrum 2 is in the setup list. Thinking about getting-and start working with an Octachron/VADrum 2 combi for rhythm.

    Hey @Slush,

Mh, no sorry. At the moment, we don’t have a mapping preset for that. And personally, I haven’t used it yet. But I can imagine, that it also makes a very good combination.
Maybe someone here in the forum has experience with VADrum 2, or can even share his mappings?
But even if not, normally, it doesn’t take too long to start with general MIDI and walk your way through.
    Hope that helps.

Thank you for your reply. Maybe someone has a preset, otherwise I hope I can easily figure this out myself. Or else I’ll reach out here again :)

Agreed, I love VADrum! Maybe my favorite 808/909 emulation on iOS.

  • Yes, I'm Martin;) Thank you for your help!!! I immediately wrote a recession :). works perfectly. I didn't even know this map function (there's nothing about it in the Drambo manual, and I've only known Drambo for 4 weeks)

Maybe others has requested this already, so sorry for double asking, but a 16 lane version of Octachron would be fantastic. I can’t map all the sounds of VADrum at the moment, you have to make choices what sounds to put in and what to leave out. For example I can’t create a complete 808 (which has 16 sounds). Another request is to be able to save your mappings. Thanks and compliments for your great work, still exploring but so far I love it! Will leave a ‘highly recommended’ review in the app store soon.

Would love to go to Munich someday. Hope you’ve had a good weekend 🙏

  • I noticed a bug.
Octachron in Apematrix, while pattern is running, when switch is set to ‘0 pattern marks loop end in song’, Octachron freezes.

And yes, this was indeed coming up regularly, so we plan our next update after the refactor one to include up to 16 tracks.
Hope you will like it 😊

  • I’m beyond happy to see the percentages in the bottom left corner when adjusting each step’s parameters. That really helps me dial in things where I want them. Not sure when this got added but noticed it a few weeks ago. Phenomenal app @TasTax

Thank you very much, really glad you like it. Yes, this was implemented with the last, a bit smaller update 1.6 , a few weeks ago 🙂
