@TasTax (or anyone knowing the answer :) )
For the love of God, I just can’t figure this out. When in songmode, the beat just pauzes a step before it goes to the next part, it’s not a continuous beat, kick-kick-kick-kick-pauze-kick-kick-kick-kick-pauze..
There aren’t that many settings, and I think I have seen them all. What am I doing wrong? :/ Clock divider on 4, 16 pattern steps.

I think there’s something wrong here.
Host is Apematrix. Setting up a pattern in song mode, example: pattern setting ‘repeat in song:1’. Pattern repeats, but skips(!) first step. Please see video. Can’t make a song as it keeps muting the first step when it moves to new pattern.

Hello, because i use Octachron + a mozaic script to convert cc to notes (thx ki) with synths, how can i change the length of a note (without a mozaic script) ? thx :-)

Solution : another mozaic script :-)

    Hey @biggir ,

Damn I think I didn’t really send off my answer last time, so … thank you for reaching out in this nice forum and your suggestions 😊
But Sorry, right now it’s not possible to change the gate length. For at it’s core Octachron is a drum sequencer where gate length normally is not that relevant.
Would you want to change gate length for all notes sent in general or individual notes?

And thx a lot for your really interesting suggestions. We will for sure consider them.
    Best greetings from Munich 🙂

    Hey @Slush ,

Thx for the explaning video. Yes, this is strange.
Does it also happen standalone or in Aum?
    Because on my device not.

Thank you for your reply Tas.
Sorry, I don’t have Aum, only Apematrix. I made a new short video where I set up a beat, using VADrum. (I also tried it with synths, same issue). Maybe I am overlooking something but I think it cannot go wrong. It seems like a bug.. :/

Thx, no, I don’t think you do something wrong neither. Seems to be a problem in the combination with Apemarix. We will check this.

    The following is my guess.
I tried with apeMatrix, Octachron and a few instrument apps.
I suspect that Slush used the "Splat-to-Clat" app.

In the "Splat-to-Clat" app preset, the "Play Modes" setting for "Kick" may be set to "Normal".
In this condition, the output sound is as shown in the video.
When "Normal" is changed to "One Shot," the sound is output according to the Octachron pattern.
In this case, the app would behave as Slush wishes.

Sorry, I posted this before I saw the VA Drum video (Test 2).
Splat-to-Clat is not shown in Test 2, so this post is my mistake.

Indeed, VADrum, not Splat-to-Clat. I also tried it with a couple of synths. Monolith for example, selected a kick in Monolith, but unfortunately the same issue. But thanks for your input :)

  • Hey @Slush, I'm Markus, the other half of the Octachron team :) Thanks so much for your feedback. I can reproduce the issue when using ApeMatrix! Its actually not related to what Synth or DrumComputer you're connecting. It's Octachron not sending the MIDI note. It works fine with AUM, also Standalone mode every MIDI note is triggered. Will have a look into it later today.
    Cheers Markus

If I’m understanding, this is a feature I use in Drambo (when sequencing drums) and Hammerhead (Hammerhead calls it decay I think).

Sitala has a gate trigger mode that you can set per pad which is great for changing the length on individual cymbal hits for instance.

@TasTax @reinerspass Dear Markus and Tas, I have tried the new beta build 1.6.1 (124) but unfortunately the issue is not solved, same problem. In songmode, when setting the ‘repeats in song:1’ it starts skipping the first step. :/
Let me know if you need any information.

  • Looking forward to offset per note implementation 😎🙏🏻

  • Hey @Slush, would you be so kind and try it again? Should actually be version 1.7.0 (129) 🤞
    Cheers

Sorry guys, installed version 1.7.0 and it keeps on skipping the first step in the pattern.

  • @TasTax
    @reinerspass

Results of testing the issue reported by @Slush with a combination of apeMatrix, synth app and beta version Octachron 1.7.0 (129), in my environment.
-The test method is the same as in @Slush's video.
-This test was done after tapping Defaults in the upper right corner of apeMatrix's Settings screen.

Synth apps failed to output sound in the "Four on the floor(?)" pattern.
    Monolit, Poison-202, Kauldron
In this case, the sound followed the same pattern as the video by @Slush.

Synth apps succeeded in producing sounds in the "Four on the floor(?)" pattern.
    ChowKick, DRC

    Environment
    iPadPro10.5
    iPadOS v16.4.1 (latest)
    beta Octachron v1.7.0 (129) (latest)
apeMatrix and synth apps are all the latest versions

    @TasTax
    @reinerspass
The following descriptions are my impressions of Octachron.

-I tried out Octachron's new double confirmation feature.
As a result, I thought it would be nice if Octachron had a system where the new feature existed as an optional setting and users could choose to turn it on or off.
With that option, users who need the new double confirmation feature and those who do not can cohabitate.

-In Octachron app, when the edit menu is displayed, the background brightness is darkened.
However, I prefer not to change the brightness of the background.
This is because when the screen display is darkened, it is harder to see than in its original(?) state.
And I think it has to do with the ease of use and visibility of features such as Move X/Y and Randomizer and Velocity.

-I think it would be better to have a description of Trigger Condition in the manual.

  • @TasTax @reinerspass

I have tested all my instruments, hope this helps.

YES! Markus and Tas, you did it, it works perfect now! I haven’t tested all my synths, but the problem seems to be solved. Thank you very much for your quick response and fix, my compliments.

I do have a feature request: lane directions, for every individual lane: forward/backward/pingpong.

    Thanks again! :)

OK if we are talking lane direction, please refer to Quantum Sequencer for inspiration!

I took this screenshot from the Strokes sequencer, but if something like this could be added to the end of each lane.. wow!
