Is there a way to selectively edit velocity? If i'm programming a drum kit and one scene has "notes" for kick, snare, and hi-hat, clicking on the area for velocity lumps all of them together. Sometimes, i have multiple hits in the same spot, so can i select just snare "notes" and change velocity for those?
Yes, you can selectively edit drum step velocities. Check out the screenshots.
Nice review. Probably the best one so far.
An update probably isn't too far away. Korg promised to add audio tracks (among other things), and I think they were just waiting for the remix competition to be over before they released an update with new features.
The unfinished gadget data that can be seen in the app with iFunbox is promising.
gadget just plain out sounds awesome....awesome....awesome
Landscape mode would also be GREAT

+1 - it's essential. Also fixing the exporting w/ silence bug.
Audio gadget and landscape mode are definitely on top of my list. I wouldn't actively wait for the next update, it could be next month or maybe 5. I don't think korg gadget competition has anything to do with the release date of the next update.
I wouldn't mind a clock start/stop sync either. I was working on a remix using gadget and beatmaker 2 for vocal tracks and it was real painful to try to start and stop both of them at the same time.
I never saw them mention a landscape mode and I am guessing there will not be one. Perhaps they will bring on audio tracks though.
I don't know what are people's expectations regarding the audio tracks. My guess is that we'll get an audio gadget with maximum length of 16bars just like the midi segments. It works in a similar way in tabletop which also has a loop based sequencer. I can't really think how they can fit a traditional style audio track within the existing layout even though I'm secretly hoping to be pleasantly surprised as Korg like to be quite ingenious and fresh
no expectations here for audio but I do look forward to what it might be also. I am in the wait and see mode now. I do not use gadget nearly as much as I thought I would at first however and I still route pretty much all of my apps into Cubasis via the bus. Long live the bus, ALLLL ABBOOOAARD!!!
why do people say iPad 3 is lemon? I have one and didn't notice it is a lemon.

Saying iPad 3 is a lemon is the wrong use of the term lemon as this would mean all iPad 3's are lemons which they are obviously not. However certain manufacturing mistakes can happen to a few iPad 3's making those individual ones 'Lemons'.
an update would be most welcome - especially with some audio capabilities (whether it be recording or sample import).... but my gut feeling is we won't see an update to Gadget for several months... (hope I'm wrong!!)
I got a direct message from the Korg App team via twitter today saying that an update to Gadget was in the works. They couldn't give me any more info than that ... so it isn't dead at least.
That sounds like the update is likely closer than we might have thought. Great news and thanks for sharing it.

Who thought it was dead? They have a roadmap mentioned in the iTunes description including new gadgets and audio tracks and they are a big prospering Japanese company. Even if they had a big team working on it, quality takes time.
Their community/forum is pretty much dead. People from Korg were posting there in the beginning, but haven't been there for months. They pushed out an update after the first month and haven't made a peep since then, other than a promotional contest.
Their twitter account is kind of on "endless repeat" posting the same posts for three months now with no hint of what is coming up. To be honest ... I was shocked that they replied to me with a direct message on Twitter. I was letting them know that their community site has been throwing a server error for over two weeks.
I'm not complaining ... I love Gadget and I do think an update is coming. I think they are missing an opportunity by not committing to a new gadget every couple of months.
Not to worry, as HUGE as they are I am fairly sure Korg has a fair grip on things and how they plan to proceed. So far so great!
Landscape mode has to be in the plans somehow. Hopefully.
So have Korg abandoned this thing? Radio silence since the first update...
Love Gadget, but it's been surprisingly quiet.
Korg loves to stay quiet until everybody is thinking the product is abandoned.I'm sure there will be a new update...someday
Please be a sampler gadget, something like their esx or even es 1.I think the ability to add you own samples would be awesome
Gadget was launched on the world with no build up, so I am sure they are working away and will just release when they are ready, it seems to be their style.
It would be nice to have audio recording as well.
yes,but that doesn't match the concept imo.Although they confirmed audio tracks as an additional update right in the beginning.I would be happy about a sampler gadget but that doesnt fit into this concept as well.Think about all their Soundcloud competition and remix stuff.Doesn't work very well anymore with audio tracks and sampler added...So,i would be happy if they would just release an update with a proper channel strip or at least an EQ in every channel...
Without any kind of audio it is very limited. Hey even Nanostudio let you import samples as a work around to audio tracks...
It's still early days for Gadget. It seemed to take forever for ims20 and ielectribe to get full retina support.
