@Crabman I don't think that's completely true. Retronyms managed to fit an audio 'gadget' into their loop based Tabletop concept which is not completely dissimilar to Gadget. I think the same goes for a sampler. They already have London, Tokyo and Amsterdam all of which are sample players, they 'just' need to include sample record/chop function. I think they will most likely bring a sampler gadget with sample import. This should satisfy many of us. I personally hope they implement midi sync (start/stop) properly so gadget can be used in parallel with other daws like bm2. This way they wouldn't really have to add anything else in terms of audio or sampling. Come on Korg, are you listening in?

  • @Supadom:i just had a look at the gadget cloud (for the first time)and realized it's not like the iPolysix cloud in terms of"download other songfiles and remix it".I expected this when i wrote my last post.So,yes.You are right, samplers or audio trax wouldn't break the whole concept.

@KlaatuNinja:C'mon,it's not THAT limited, use your imagination and creativity, the tools are there ;-)

Midi sync out would also be nice by the way...

  • Yeah, ok, but if I want to add any audio of vocals I have to export etc. With so many other options that I can do everything on I have not really gone back to Gadget Since I got it...

  • When/if it gets midi sync there's no need to do any exporting Just get your sequencers talking to each other then once all is ready record it to your favourite daw via multiple pipelines in audiobus 2. Easy.
Implementing midi so it syncs up completely seems to be the hard bit tho

  • I just want an update with no tails in exported loops

  • I only want to stack gadget midi channels to play multilayered super patches from my keyboard-

  • A polyphon playable Sampler with Loops,
And Full Synth Sektion like Filter, Filter- Ampenvelope would be very useful a useful Gadget.

  • To anyone getting an Audiobus "Error" or Gadget crash when trying to load Gadget as an input source:

Load Gadget by itself, start a new song, close gadget, then load Gadget in Audiobus.

Situation: Last time Gadget was used, I made a song with 8+ gadgets. When I attempt to load Gadget into Audiobus, Gadget will auto-load your last edited project. This causes Gadget to soft-crash and Audiobus will display the word "Error" on the Gadget icon, before returning it to a closed state.

I have a feeling this is due to Gadget loading too much into memory.. (?)

  • Hi. Past thursday bought Bilbao and the application crashed. Since then I can not open it, crashes all the time. Have Ipad Air 2 and latest IOS. Please Help me!

  • Is there a factory reset under the app settings within IOS settings? If so, you can try using that. Otherwise, I would suggest simply uninstalling and reinstalling the whole thing.

  • Already tried both. Still crashing. I don't know what to do.

  • I was writing some automation manually into Gadget today and have a question: How can I make the entire automation lane (ie. for a whole bar) move up and down using my finger?

For example, I wanted to change the pitch of a drum sample today and so I tapped on the appropriate lane. The first time I did this, the entire lane would adjust at once for the whole bar when I moved up and down - which was exactly what I wanted - but when I tried the same thing in a duplicated clip, my finger movement was instead only affecting the automation in one little bit of the bar at a time. Except when it wasn't, and worked fine again, but I couldn't work out why. Is there any way to predict or control this behaviour? I tried tapping once, double tapping, holding etc, but nothing seemed to work. I was enjoying being able to move whole bars of automation up and down the screen, as I wanted every MIDI event in the piano roll to be the same 'note' for this drum sample, rather than having to draw my finger across and adjusting the automation of every section that Gadget arbitrarily assigned to the lane! Particularly because it's difficult to fine adjust, as the resolution isn't great.

I know exactly what your saying.

And you're right - the resolution isn't great. Especially on stuff like pitch, where you really need it to be able to snap back to 0 easily.

    It's not ideal.

To answer your question I believe it's something to do with when you last changed the automation. I think it does something like move the whole line forward of any point you have altered at all, but not previous to the place you altered. Or something like that.

Solutions I have used include deleting the automation entirely (swipe right on the parameter label on the left hand side) and setting the quantisation to a whole bar (which will mean you move the line in whole bar increments at least).

But it is fiddly sometimes getting stuff exact. And pitch is a case in point where you need accuracy.

  • Hey there :-) I've just posted a suggestion for Korg Gadget, but the thread seems a bit spider-webby, the last post is from 2014. Please take a look and support me with likes or +1's. Wrapped my head around this whole afternoon for a clean explanation. Thanks <3 Link: https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/200075059-Suggestions-for-Korg-Gadget?page=1#community_comment_229330383

  • I haven't used gadget in a while and i just noticed the new inserts along more fx.Sweeeet

  • Is it Gadget's latest 'feature' to present you with an empty project if you haven't saved the one you were last working on? Unless it is only a bug I am experiencing?

Mine opens the last work (unsaved) after closing. Just checked, version 3.3.2

You might loose user samples etc that way.
First go into the settings app > Gadget > Utility > switch on 'Reset current work'.
This kind of resets Gadget. Then select a new gadget for a track, close / open Gadget to see if it's remembered.

If that doesn't work perhaps restarting your iPad ?

Maybe just give your iPad a hard restart before you muck about backing up projects and user samples and wasting your time when it might not need to be wasted mate. :) Let us know how it goes.

Flicked the switch and tried it with a new noodle and it worked. It used to work and I didn't mess wth any switches in the past so I'm not exactly sure what's happened. Well all good now, thanks.

  • It seems the SELECT buttons on the Korg nanoKontrol no longer light up after the recent update.

    Any other users notice this?
