But, the thread title is "Korg Gadget", so maybe this complete dog turd of a spec conversation can go somewhere else?

Are you the same AQ808 who posted this 'off topic' comment in the "Korg Gadget Updated With AudioBus" thread...?:

"I guess I'm on a 2 year cycle now, as it takes apple that long to bring enough change to the device to capture my interest. think I have the best place in the cycle to be, with the weak 3 before and the RAM limited 5 after. I love the performance balance on the 4, so I can wait patiently for Air 2."

    We are all sinners...! :-)

Not sure it was off-topic in that other thread, as I was attempting to moderate your ignorant troll comment which ended up taking over and destroying that thread, and it was in this context regarding audiobus support:

    Not encouraging

    • Audiobus support (iPad Air/iPad mini Retina recomended)
That leaves a lot of people out in the cold

This is something people will have to face up to this year. I call 2014 the "year of the upgrade".

I think if you have less than an iPad Air you are going to feel some pain this year as many hot new apps will require a lot of performance to run them.

And when AB2 comes out you will have people wanting to run multiple source apps, FX apps and a DAW all at the same time. And an iPad 2, 3 or even 4 won't be up to it.

    Remember?

And that piece of garbage commentary somehow wafted its stench into this thread where it had no context at all.

And now you're trying to troll me in this thread, too?

    Get a life.

  • It's easy to get sidetracked...but these accusations back and forth are even more disturbing.

Guys, please take your bickering to PM and leave this thread clean.

  • I agree, I'm done feeding the troll for now.

I'd much rather mention how the new 16 bar capability, when setting the time signature to 8/4, gives us the equivalent of 32 bars of 4/4 per scene, without any of the compromises of my tempo tricks from page 15 of this thread.

That said, now you can do some crazy long scenes if you do use those tricks.

I'm super happy with 16 just now but that's a pretty cool tip... cheers!

  • I just want to remind everyone to head over to the Korg Gadget Community. It's pretty much a ghost town right now ... but reps from Korg have made comments there and are probably monitoring it for feedback.

  • @distropolis

Thank you. Just did that again with a request for landscape mode.

    Let's go folks! :-)

  • Thanks! And don't forget to VOTE on your favorite suggestions/requests!

  • We need more Gadgets.....and soon :)

  • I took the above mentioned advice on being productive, and made this new Gadget doodle aptly named The Lemon Day! :)

  • Sounds nice ChrisG, I only miss some bass on the kickdrum!

  • A simple test song ...

Thanks. Yea I only have a pair of really cheap AKG headphones right now. No monitors, speakers or anything. It's a sofa-production. :)

@distropolis Really cool, I get Daft Punk vibes mixed with some cool 8-bit things going on. :)

  • Thanks! It's kind of open ... I'm leaving room for vocal tracks. COUGH COUGH COUGH ... anyone listening Korg? Audio tracks please!

  • @raz said:

@dj8 I mean optimization of Gadget, playing frozen audio tracks shouldn't be so performance intensive. Like you said, the hardware should handle it.

I've noticed a nice performance bump from the recent Gadget update. But, it would be great if Korg could squeeze a little more optimization into the next update for those of us with older model iPads.

  • Gadget is such a nice app, i love it and use it everyday, now Korg, would you please give us M1 and Wavestation for the iPad?, i really miss those two from the desktop days!.

    Thank you Korg!

  • Ye nice beat/groove. That bass rattler synth with the filter sweep in the beginning is that Dublin?

  • thx. it's berlin, the other one is chicago

  • I have done a more ambient track with Gadget, mostly using sounds from Kiev.

Awesome! Thanks for the link... on it now!

  • Nice sound @PhilW. I imagine it was inspired by political events.....?

It actually started just playing with sounds in the Kiev Gadget, but then I saw a news broadcast and the coincidence just hit me and influenced where I took it from there.

  • @jackfancy I wish the Korg reps would come back and participate. They were on there for the first few weeks.

Maybe they are too busy with the next update ;p

  • Nice track Phil, a good example that Gadget is capable of MUCH more than your typical pattern based dance tracks :-)

I find that GadgetCloud is also a good way to hear the diversity possible with this awesome program.

Another song idea ... left some room for vocals and guitar (if we get audio tracks). I might just dump this into Auria and go from there ...

I'd also like to hand it over to a drummer I know to liven up the drum tracks.

It kind of fumbles around 3/4 of the way through and I'd like to sort some of the rhythmic/melodic changes out before calling it quits.

  • Now that is cheating ... Err, 6 ...
