  • i suspect this has been covered already, but i would appreciate support for IAA midi and host sync

Will the Link module be included??

I'd need to obtain a license from Ableton for their Link SDK.

If some of the existing recorder/sampler modules are added that only work with WAV/AIFF files, is that useful? Probably this is a silly question as uncompressed format is desirable anyway, I just thought if I do my own modules they'd accept any iOS-supported file types, but the existing ones do not.

WAV and AIFF would be perfect!

Antonio Tuzzi (Nysthi), who already showed interest to port his modules to miRack, has 5 different recording modules. Besides a lot of other awesome ones (Samplers, West Coast Synthesis, etc)

    Yep! That's why I'm asking.

  • Great! Nysthi are awesome modules!!

Love JW-Modules XY Pad for long evolving compositions but drives me a bit batty that I accidentally touch the pad and erase my 2-3 minute or more x/y path when attempting to resize the rack. I really wish miRack had an undo function. Anybody else?

Undo is the next big feature I'm working on (meaning smaller updates may be released e.g. with new modules while working on it).

Excellent! I can’t emphasize enough how enthralled I am with miRack. It’s my favorite thing on iOS since iVCS3!

  • I think a Link module and recording modules would be great additions to miRack.

Wow, Antonio has a number of fantastic modules!
@miRack: My suggested recorder/player was intended to be as "universally useful" as possible, in order to reduce the number of required modules as much as possible for common tasks. Here it is again:

    So what's your plan currently?

Its very cool you created this but this look way over complicated. Something that just records the audio accurately at a touch of a button is more preferred in my case, i dont even need it to be a module. Just a button which opens up options to record and how many bars if you want a loop.
I dont mean to offend you here ☺️

    Thank you, no worries 🤗
Actually it's meant to be flexible enough for super-simple use too:
Connect the inputs, hit the big REC button and it will instantly record to file #1.
If you keep auto-advance off, it will simply overwrite the next time you hit REC.

The REC Gate input is for recording an exact numbers of bars because
    1. you'll never hit that REC button in perfect timing and
    2. you can have multiple sequencers with different time signatures in your patch and neither miRack nor the module can know what is a bar or how long you want the loop to be. (and you can trigger recording from any sequencer)

    Ah sounds cool actually 😎

Of course since we are talking modules it doesn't matter as your module can be used if the user wishes and if not its waiting for the right time.

I think it be nice to have a general record button on top of mirack just ready which is not a module for instant use.

Oh yes, that definitely wouldn't hurt :+1:

Ok. For me the biggest sort of issue with adding iPhone version is that you can never remove it afterwards, so even if it turns out no-one really needs it, I'll still have to support it, test, make screenshots, etc. But at some point I can make a beta build with iPhone support if anyone wants to try how usable it is.

That certainly also depends on which iPhone model it's used. The size difference between the smallest (5SE) and the largest (x Plus) version is quite remarkable.
On a 5SE, I'd happily use it as a preset player at least.
Dunno how many iMusicians have a Plus model.

Yeah I have an 11 and the screen size would be fine for making patches

    Whoa, Just found this:

    Lots of Nysthi modules used.

  • :O incredible

  • That was amazing

  • Impressive

Hey, Squinky Labs "Functional VCO" is no longer showing in the modules browser :(
The module is still working on old patches but can not be selected for new ones.
I'm on iPad Air iOS 12.1.1

And, oh, any chance Vult modules can be included? Those are amazing!

    Keep up the great work!

  • Functional VCO was a clone of the VCO from fundamental if I'm not mistaken.

  • It shouldn’t have disappeared, I’m checking this.

I think the chance of Vult being added are a solid zero. He has made it clear that he’s not on board with the project unfortunately.

    sweet!

  • @mifki I know this will be low level in the general scheme of things but I love to see an option for internal sample rate of 96khz for some sweet sounds. Multi threaded cores on a ipad pro might be able to handle this.

Exactly, we don't need the Dumb-amental modules. We have more and better modules now.
