Yeah I guess all the same can be done by having miRack as a filter, so I wonder is it any different?

Maybe that depends on whether, as an output, you could enable multiple audio ins?

    Probably a matter of convenience.

    @Michael and @mifki:
While testing the current betas of AB3 and miRack as an AB3 audio source, I had difficulties launching miRack a third and consecutive times from within AB3. Even after removing all miRack instances from AB3, launching again waits, then asks for a miRack restart, but next restart and AB3 connect fails.

Edit: Clearing and reloading the AB3 session won't help, neither will restarting AB3. Opened miRack and AB3 several times.

Edit 2: A reboot helped. But try force-closing miRack and reloading it in AB3 and you'll most likely see what I've described

Strange, during the development I obviously quite often kill both miRack and AB, and I never had to reboot iPad for this reason.

Have you tried with the latest versions of both?

Interesting. If you install AB from the App Store again (backup your presets first - I know; iCloud sync coming soon), does it do it still?

  • I'm on the latest betas of both AB3 and miRack no problems loading in Audiobus latest ipad OS.

  • Anyone finds the document browser useful? I'd replace it with a custom screen to open/manage patches, pretty much with the same functionality, but simpler UI and limited to the app folders (local/iCloud). Will still be able to open patches from other locationg using Files app.

I would rather this than the document browser but maybe that’s just me.

    @mifki Plus + for a custom screen.

  • The reason mainly is that there will be more bundled content like tutorials, presets, etc., news/tips, and at some point access to Patchstorage once they provide API, and there's no easy way to present all this in the document browser.

@mifki All makes sense go for it.

Whatever clear, unmistakable, self-explanatory common-sense design you have in mind.
I bet the beta testers will tell you if there are any no-gos.

  • Sure, the question was to find out if someone relies on document browser features that won't be available in such case, like tags, opening patches from other locations (e.g. provided by other apps, network, etc.) and copying to them.

I'd love that. I always have to reboot my device for some reason with the files app or patches don't load.

    Sounds sensible.

  • Holey smokey! Big update! Normally i'm more of a lurking guy on this forum absorbing 🧽 every discussion about the news BUT this has to be said! Amazeballs! encroiable! I need more superlatives!

+1. An absolutely EPIC update!. Thanks @mifki and module developers (NYSTHI, Geodesics, Stellare Modular, etc)

  • wow, nice update indeed :)

It’s a way better port than I hoped for when I got hooked on the desktop version. And seemingly only getting better.

Music Making App Of The Year for me, although there is a lot of competition.

I’ve booked December off work on Long Service Leave, much sonic joy ahead ...

  • Great update.

  • This has blown me away. I feel like this app should cost like $100 or something you know like overwhelmed~! Wow, honestly I would buy some preset patches and keep this alive for sure. The cable routing with colors and snapping to the in or out if it works is genius too! That helps me as a new modular dude, as I just don't know what cable goes where so the random approach works better in this app. Tripping out, cheers. This may be an occult society here, this modular thing. Like its almost spell casting.

  • Oh my. This update is like getting half the stuff I regularly use on my iPad for free in a single day! I don’t even know where to begin.

    Amazing!

  • These NYSTHI ones are sure a blast LOL.
Still havent managed to make a melodic musical sound but tweaking these freaky bleepitys is such fun

  • There’s even an Impulse Response loader. B)

I'm very excited for that one. I'm getting nothing but glitched verbs from it though. changing the block size just changes the rate of the glitches. Might be because I'm using an older ipad, but it says it's using 1% cpu. anyone else running into problems with the NYSTHI Convolvzilla?

Definitely is working fine for me. Remind me, what device do you have?

Could be lack of CPU power or, maybe, a convolution algorithm that needs optimization.
Have you tried different combinations of block size and miRack audio buffer settings?
I had crackle fest on a rather fast iPad 2018 too, until I reduced (!) miRack's audio buffer from 1024 to 512 samples. Now it works with all block sizes, using short IRs.

  • Antonio has implemented his own multithreading for some of NYSTHI modules, so it may actually depend on device (number of cpu cores, etc.). Let me know which devices work and which have problems.

  • I’m so in love with the Geodesic modules. Amazing stuff. Only one I can’t seem to wrap my head around is the black hole. I’ve read the manual on that one and still can’t figure it out :D

    I'm using a 2016 9.7" pro latest OS

it seems specific to that module. Even the most basic patch with just simple vco feeding into it shows it's using 1%, but stutters like crazy. even with a short convolution and the highest audio buffer.
