(The the way social marketing works is, track down youtubers or other social media profiles with a set amount of subscribers/followers/regular viewers and lure them into making a video, sometimes for pay or free products and BOOM!).

Yes, Roland paid him lots of $$$s to get access to his massive worldwide fan base of 1,100 subscribers :)

Maybe Roland Australia wanted to reach a target group in their country ;)

  • Is it the ‘Product Key’ box we enter our Stagelight key into? No copy and paste option for me and there’s at least a *thousand characters in the Stagelight key.

*well, two and a half lines of solid text anyway!

  • @AtticusL User key. Press the folder icon and navigate to where you saved it.

Thanks man. I didn’t realise it was a file not just a text string. Duh. Cheers!

  • I've not had the patience to watch thru all the tutorials...
But can we freely stretch and pitch audio on the time-line?

No offense to Stagelight, I’m not familiar with the app but dev team seem very responsive here. A bag of cash is tempting and iOS is not exactly an easy way to make a living (yet)

I’m still a bit shocked that people are delighted to have to setup new accounts, lose content and in some regions lose everything with no warning!!

I’ve seen other developers ripped to shreds because the free updates are taking too long and other nonsensical reasons.

    End of rant

  • No one has actually LOST anything (yet) except future developments and maybe some storage space, Stagelight still works and content is available for download (though this may change I guess, hence the yet)
For those able to transfer to Zen there’s a couple of nice new features like Link and UI skins and the hope that at least for a while Rolands marketing muscle and resources may lead to faster development in the future. Hence some delight.

  • I can’t fault Roland in the marketing department anyway

It’s not something I’ve used and this thread was 100% Roland for the first few hours until some facts appeared. Seems like quite a few people are expecting the Roland stuff to appear on iOS. I would be very surprised if that happened.

People have been asking to buy the Cloud synths on desktop for years and that hasn’t happened yet.

It’s not something that affects me but might be useful for others to consider!

Speaking of analyzing videos and such, I can't believe no one's commented on this yet.

Maybe they are bringing The Roland synth

    That image is tantalizing
Someone was asking about Jupiter on page one, @oat_phipps I think. It’s been in the photo the whole time! Good catch @ecamburn

If you look at the pic very well, you can see pc/Mac keyboard , it’s just the pc/Mac version running a Roland vst. the vst pop up GUI is the one use on Mac and Pc and not on iOS or Android.

Right. And ZenBeats Mac runs AU and VST,

Is there already a Roland Jupiter AU or VST for Mac that looks like that?

  • can't figure out how to save this f**kin key on my iPad, every time I try to save it from my e-mail attachment it just opens a new browser tab with that endless cryptic text

    any advice please?

Save it somewhere like Dropbox or the Files app. It has to be in a location that you can browse to from inside ZB.

it can't be saved anywhere, it just opens another bloody tab each time I try (and it's getting me on my nerves the longer I try)

    but thx for answering

.. on desktop I get the key file, have to install dropbox on my iPad first it seems (.. but I don't want to pay for it)

Don’t tap on the file use the export option upper right and save it to a chosen location in the files app. Remember where you saved it then inside Zenbeats redeem via user file location.

On your tablet, when the key file opens as a page of text, is there the

in the upper corner of the page?
If so it should lead to a Files option, I saved mine in iCloud

  • The key thing from stagelight to zen took me a second..
    For those wondering how...
When I got the key emailed, I saved the attachment into the documents app...
Then went to user key in Zen and just opened up the attached key document...
No need to copy / paste or anything, just load the actual doc into the key prompt.

Also I dig this. I like stagelight a lot, have since it dropped. Deff has some of the best features for an iOS daw imo, especially clips!!
I'm good with these new thing, perhaps more stable updates and such will happen with this, not that it was bad before, cuz it wasn't, but I did have some things that seem to me ironed out now

  • @yowza @Jumpercollins @Littlewoodg thx for your help, still no success here, fumblin' around for more than an hour and I gotta go now, will try again later, cu

Am I the only one with crackle audio when using auv3 fx?

I am getting mad. Nice when play with auv3 instruments, crackle with auv3 fx.

Hi @Charlesalbert Can you (and anyone experiencing issues) send me a list of your favorite auv3 effect that exhibit the crackle sounds? Thanks!

I tried with Fabfilter C2. Immediate crackles

But can we freely stretch and pitch audio on the time-line?

If you mean drag the waveform to stretch it , no . You have to change the bpm of the audio file manually. You can change the pitch also but none of those can be automated (it also skips audio for a second to recalculate every time you change a value, so no real-time )

On the bright side I like the algorithm, not Serato class but descent...

EDIT: But another huge miss is no reverse....

  • For some of y’all on here It’s all SUPPORT THE DEVS, BUY APPS FULL PRICE!
until the Devs decide to make a power move for themselves and align with a corporation. Then it’s suddenly full outrage LOL, never change AB forum.

Change comes fast in this iOS game

I’m sure any issues will be ironed out soon.

Maybe Akai will buy up BM3 next! Might actually see an update then haha. (Jokes)

  • Would love to see a chord keyboard!

    Hi @MatthewAtStagelight
Zenbeats for IOS is not available in the Argentina AppStore (and in some other countries in South America).
Any estimated date for releasing the app? I’d like to transfer all my content from my StageLight account.

    @MatthewAtStagelight
I found on the iPad Musician group (Facebook) that there are some people from other countries with the same issue.
    Any idea what’s going on?

Zenbeats requires a Roland Backstage account which is not available in all regions. I recommend going through the steps at us.openlabs.com to generate a Stagelight key. I'll provides updates on availability as I get them> @dpeace said:

Having fun trying to find the location of my mixdown on Windows; I’m mourning the loss of the OpenLabs website knowledge base.

    I’m hunting in Users/Public/Public Documents/Zenbeats Library/, but can’t find it.

Mixdowns are stored in Users/[your username]/Zenbeats User folder

edit commands for copy, paste, etc. are invoked with long presses also in the various screens. I forgot that, too.

Anyone experiencing lag when pasting just a few midi notes in the pianoroll? Kinda weird. Otherwise ZB is working better here (so far) than the last version of Stagelight, and now I have an AU or two I like for feeding guitar signal to whereas before I only had IAA Amp/Fx sims so I was out of luck.

@ZenLizard @MatthewAtZenbeats Yes there is a problem and lag when pasting in midi notes in the pianoroll sequencer. Needs fixing.

Noted! Thanks for the report!> @AtticusL said:

No, Select the User Key section then press the folder icon to import the key. No copy and paste needed.

  • Wow. I have ZenBeats installed with all assets downloading on:

    MacBook
    iPhone
    iPad
    ChromeBook

Is there a simple way to share projects between device types? Let's hope Roland ports their synths to this "Store" and addition to the Roland Cloud instances. I'm trialing the Roland Cloud and the Synths are perfect re-creations of the Classic Roland hardware products (D-50, Jupiter 8, SRX, etc). It would be a walled garden but have the benefit of hardware independence using the same credentials.

Assuming you aren’t using AU or AUv3 then if you save your work to the cloud eg onedrive then you can just load it from there on any of the other devices.
Other wise you are going to have to make audio versions of tracks with system exclusive content

  • This forum takes crazy pills sometimes.

Congrats to the legacy stagelight team. While us on the outside may not know the direction roland will take the app, this is a huge win for those developers to not only be recognized for the work they’ve done, but also have more cushion to potentially continue improving what they’ve already made.

There was literally a thread a week ago with anecdotes from top devs about the limited profit potential for apps in this space. Hopefully stagelight is getting a fistful of that boutique $$$.

I’ve bought too many daws and stagelight is the one I see the most potential in for an iPad interface. Now go incorporate with AUM for routing and mixer view and make my iPad life complete.
