OK - by track do you mean clip in the timeline?
    If I have 3 x 8 bar clips on a track, can I do a 24 bar
    filter sweep across them?
Do I have to record it in first for it to show up?
    Thanks for your help

either on the timeline or the clips view, if you double tap on a clip to open it, there is a little line and dot icon
click that to see the options to draw it in.

  • So it is clip based automation. Was hoping for timeline auto.

I believe it does, but it’s a different way of going about it than other iOS DAWs. When I have time later I’ll try to explain the method for achieving automation in ZB that is not tied to clips.

So... I was wrong about timeline auto. Doesn’t seem to be a thing in ZenBeats, which is unfortunate.

edit: there is an option in the long press menu on the timeline that says “print automation” with two options. One says print automation to clip and the other says print automation to track. I tried the print to track option with an automation I had first drawn within a clip and it put the automation ”line“ over the whole track, even if clips get dragged around the automation stays locked to the timeline, but I haven’t figured out how to edit it once it is on the track without going back into a clip, which kinda defeats the purpose. Maybe somebody else has this part figured out and will chime in. I will get back to you if I figure it out.

Can anyone tell me how to switch over all my purchased stuff from stagelight to this? It’s a long thread, sorry to ask, but I watched videos and just too much information to sift through for something I’m hoping should be a sentence. Thanks again

Well your unlucky about it being capable of being expressed in a sentence...

@wngwizard don’t miss the part which mentions that remaining credits must be spent cause they can’t be transferred, and don’t buy content that Roland hasn’t licensed (list on the end of the page)

Hi @MatthewAtZenbeats I’m trying to unlock the Mac version of stagelight before switching as I have $31 in credits to use. It’s not letting me checkout though. Is this because the shop is closed or is it still possible to buy credits?

Ouch. And I was a bit pissed off at losing $2.

You can reveal the track solo, mute, record and automation toggles in the timeline view’s track header by tapping it exactly on the level meters. Anywhere else and it doesn’t reveal.

Is that the problem you we’re having ?

I think credits are only valid for the sound store only (not unlocking)

    @McD @MatthewAtZenbeats

Well it works for me (I have some cash credits) - at the checkout it takes $25 off my purchase from my credits. I just can’t complete the checkout.

So no way to checkout now @MatthewAtZenbeats ? If not I’ll just spend all the credits on presets or whatever.

Sorry for the confusion. There is no way to purchase additional credits in Stagelight, so you will have to spend them on content.

Got a mail from Roland support and regarding the midi in issue that works only in the selected track ,I was wrong :

If you change to timeline view and arm the tracks (after setting midi device & channel input) you can trigger them all at once :)
It doesn’t work on clip view ,where midi input focuses on the selected track only ,but it kind of make sense , since clip view is for building....
    Hope it helps :)

The other bugs mentioned here are already forwarded to the devs :) :)

Next question , does Link works for everyone? I think there is an offset

I have audio loops that don’t load when the song is saved and then reopened. Does this happen to anyone else? The names show up but no audio files.

Yeah, it’s happening to a fair few of us. Matthew@Zenbeats is aware and looking into it.

    Oh, ok.

  • @MatthewAtZenbeats
Right, so today an update to Zenbeats was released, which I downloaded. It will fix the missing audio problem. However, I now have new exotic problems.

Apart from having to do the a little song-and-dance number when I open up the app, with loading a song, going to settings, selecting plug-ins, pick "use 44.1" which will save and reload the entire song, it now appears like it randomly forgets AU plug-ins presets. Some, but not all, plug-ins need to be reminded of which preset they should be on. That however isn't the worst part of it, and I don't know exactly how to describe my current issue so I figured I should screenrecord it so you can hear for yourself.
The exciting (?) stuff happens after the song intro, when all the instruments were supposed to start. I can reproduce this 100% of the cases, and it used to be a working project before this update.

  • @hellquist try increasing the buffer ,test it and decrease it again .
BTW awesome track ,hopefully we’ll hear it till the end :)

  • Will we have it in india anytime? Ipayed for stagelight, wgats up?

Yeah, had a look at that too, but my only option is 256. It literally gives me no other option but 256. :/

As for the track-in-making: hehe, yeah I did it first just to test Stagelight/Zenbeats, but it has taken on a life of its own now, so I've migrated the project to Auria instead where I'll finish it I think. :)

Strange , try a soft hard reset since I just checked and ZB gives me 64 to 4096 buffer size.

Ah, good tip, thanks. Restarted my iPad and opened up Zenbeats. Now I too get the full selection of buffer sizes, which in turn removed the z!!!!!!!Xewd3!""""""°° sounds. :)

Now for getting to the point I were at before my rendered audio files disappeared, and which this updates was going to fix.
