That said, I can easily dial in values to 0.1 dB accuracy. So, other than overcoming the perception the small faders create, I don't see this as a huge problem for my own workflow.
This is a problem for me as well. I love Zenbeats but the new update (no v2 unlock) took my install from around 8-900MB to 1.24GB and space is getting tight on my device so it may end up being removed. All I want to use it for is recording MIDI and audio but it seems to install a lot of other stuff which I would like more granular control over if possible.
I have the iOS unlock v1 (185MB) and VIP expansion 1 (123MB) installed as the minimum I could get away with and no projects of my own saved and somehow the app is using 846MB of data with an install size of 397MB.
What are other people seeing for install sizes?
Yes.
Yes. But audio in only over an audio interface, not from other apps as it has no Audiobus or IAA support.
It is not possible to subscribe to Roland Cloud on mobile device? ( I just mean the act of subscribing.)
The action is offered in iOS but eventually you arrive at a page that requires downloading Roland Cloud Manager, which silently fails on iOS. Right?
@MatthewAtZenbeats is the floating plug in window resizable.
It appears not. And some plugins don't scale properly to fit the window. Some don't scroll within the window either.
Others, such as Drambo, work nicely in this format though.
Just noticed it too . Every time you select a preset ,it scrolls to the bottom
The full unlock includes over 800 ZC1 presets and TON of SampleVerse content. You can control what is installed in the Store/My Stuff tab. You should see Trashcan icons next to your content that will allow you to remove the larger packs.
Love to hear more about this. What all is annoying by it exactly?
Not currently as we only sell one time purchases in the app
Not now, but we are looking into improvements to this feature. Stay tuned.

does unlocking this new synth add any parameters?
Ahh! Thanks. That's perfect. I was only afraid that it was a one-shot deal with the V2 unlock. 👍🏼
@MatthewAtZenbeats will it be, or is it, possible to edit sounds on the MC101 using Zenbeats 2.0?
For example, could I create a program/sound/patch then send it to the MC101 via USB, then use that sound on the MC101 when away from Zenbeats? Would it be possible to edit a sound on the MC101 via Zenbeats while it is plugged in to the iPad?
Thanks in advance!
@MatthewAtZenbeats : hi, sure this has been mentioned already, but are you planning on adding file drag and drop direct from the Files app into a Zenbeats audio track any time soon? That would get me to jump ship from Cubasis for sure, as there is a lot I like about this. (Thinking seriously of springing for the Ultimate Unlock to use it on my MBP and PC too, in fact...)
After reading all that info Im still a bit confussed, I own Zenbeats v1, if I pugrade to V2 I get Zenology pro? with all the editable UI?
And it adds 800 sounds to the ZC1sounds already in V1?
Or it only adds some sounds and its the same not editable and limited Zenbeat v1 ZC1 ?
And I can use ZC1 as AUv3 in other IOS hosts?
@MatthewAtZenbeats
Still impossible to record automation from onscreen controls. These can be mapped and recorded using bluetooth midi but NOT using the on screen controls ( UI from plugin or Show Parameters ) and neither from a virtual midi source within iOS.
Zenbeats has so much potential but unfortunatly there is so much tapping, tapping and hold required to do basic stuff that its far from a nice editing experience. Have a look at Nanostudio 2 and Xequence for a lesson in user interface and interaction.
Tap and hold for 2 seconds ( seriously ) to get to this clip menu is simply poor design.
Can it scan and import plugins in version 2.0? That would be really cool.
Anyone else noticed high memory use even with a blank project? I have an iPhone 11, and when I start a new project, the memory indicator shows 80 to 85 percent. After running 4 ZC1 instances and 1 auv3 plugin (K7D) CPU is nicely at 19% but memory at staggering 96% and audio starts to crackle when changing windows or loading an extra auv3 plugin. I’m on ios14 and did a reboot on my iPhone but that didn’t improve it. There is 8gig free disk space available.
Since v1
@MatthewAtZenbeats love the new floating plugin windows, would be great to be able to resize these similar to AUM or Ape Matrix.
Really enjoying the inclusion of Zencore in 2.0. Great work from you and the team @MatthewAtZenbeats Looking forward to where you will take us.
Here’s a little groove i made using the new Zencore synth for all tracks with exception of drums:

Quick question for @MatthewAtZenbeats or any of the Zenbeats gurus here: is there an easy way to get wav files saved in AudioShare into the app? I can get the DOS-style folder hierarchy to open up in an Audio track by a long press, but a) it’s illegible on an iPad in dark mode and b) I have no idea what folder I’m supposed to be pathing to. Any help appreciated. As per my original comment further up the thread, the ideal would be drag and drop from the Files app.
Floating windows on iPads ,plus resizable ....those kids .... mouse support, keyboard next.....
@MatthewAtZenbeats - is it possible to use the zenbeats arpeggiator from sample verse with the new zc1?
As a hardware and iOS user the synth engine being on iOS is a great step towards getting a fluid workflow where you can move from hardware to software and back, I would like to have seen the ability to create presets on iOS that can then be used on the hardware, it seems like it is only possible the other way around currently.
Also I cannot find a way of getting triplets in the step sequencer, changing time signature does not seem to affect the step grid.
+1
There’s no way to preview files that are not already imported when using the “import from folder” function. So you don’t know what you are actually going to import prior.
With AudioShare or better Files.app integration you could listen to loops/samples in advance. Drag and drop would be the way to go.
Does anyone know if there is a way to make the ZenBeats on-screen keyboard wider?
Sure I can use the 'scales' but when using the chromatic mode the keys feel a bit too narrow for my 'non sausage' fingers.
Most virtual keyboards allow the width to be scaled but not the one in ZenBeats or is there a way to do that already @MatthewAtZenbeats ?
This could as an example be done with a pinch-gesture on the octave/range selector or changing the width between a few presets widths with a double-tap.
So far I'm enjoying ZenBeats and I guess a bunch of ZC1 presets will drop in due time...
(An IAP for all the presets on MC-101/707 could be something to consider along with basic patch editing).
Cheers!
I know its a bit hacky but since I have now Ultimate I did experiment with working on my project on the iPad and on my laptop. And I think finally I found a great solution for browsing samples. I'm quite pleased how the loopcloud plugins work together with Zenbeats. I have all my audio files on my laptop managed with loopcloud. So loopcloud comes with AU or VST plugins that you can add to your project. When you browse samples in loopcloud then they are played back in Zenbeats with the plugin and is automatically adjusted to the tempo set in Zenbeats. When you found a match you can drag and drop it from loopcloud to Zenbeats and it is added as an audio track.
So basically I freeze all my synth tracks beforehand then transferring the project to Zenbeats on my laptop. Then adding some audio files and then transfer the project back to my iPad.
@MatthewAtZenbeats how long will the intro price for ultimate unlock last?
Swipe left right for the keyboard note range , up down for narrow or wider
