    Gave it 5 stars Immediately

Tune Maker is now a plain paid app w/o any subscriptions or inApps. So all who already downloaded the app, has now access to all the pro features. Enjoy! App Store reviews are welcome 😉 https://tunemaker.app

    Thank you!

  • Five stars and a few comments just submitted.

  • Consider making this MIDI AU capable and you'd make some extra $$$ by re releasing as a separate app.

The files should not be removed as they are stored in the local folder, not in the documents folder of the app. For additional safety you can duplicate your project files to an iCloud folder or another local folder but I believe you do not have to do it.

I went for it and my songs were still there after buying the release version, so thanks @Dmitry_Klochkov

Thanks man, I appreciate and later on this evening 5 star deserved! Cheers

  • I'm intrigued by this app but haven't bought it yet. It looks like an expanded version of the dev's Chordflow, which I have. I'd buy this in a heartbeat if it was midi AU because it would enable me to use it in AUM and insert midiLFOs and other midi effects units, etc. to create more variation. Is this planned, @Dmitry_Klochkov?

  • Now that it has no in-app purchase so I can archive the .ipa forever I instabought :D

  • I should have bought Chordflow instead of Tune Maker. With Chordflow i could have place it in an empty AUM or Audiobus slot and hook the rest (apps) up inside AUM or AB and synchronise everything. Now I can't.
I am disappointed. An older App as Chordflow can do more for the same price.

  • @Dmitry_Klochkov Any idea if you’re going to implement (AU midi anytime soon? If that’s something that’s going to happen it’ll be an instapurchase from me. Great GUI. I would love to see this have the ability for auv3 automation.

  • Very sensible move @Dmitry_Klochkov ... and it seals the deal for me ... looks like a most useful app and has enormous scope for growth and expansion. I wouldn't necessarily rule out IAPs or add ons. Well done!

  • I downloaded it when it was free, and offered subscription options. I did not avail myself of the subscription. I somehow deleted it, but have now re-downloaded. I see no type of payment option.
Did I luck up and get the complete version for free? Can I at least send Dimitri beer or cocktails money?

Same. That's why I took the time to write a good review (I did beta test too). I really feel for Dmitry. He put a bunch of time and effort into this app and it really is a useful app. Not good that the $$$ don't make sense for this level of creativity and craft. Anyway, hope he figures out how to monetize his work.

  • I downloaded previously and bought the lifetime. No regrets.

    +1

  • @Dmitry_Klochkov can we get a randomizer for the chords, drums, arpeggio, and melody?

  • This nearly perfect as a songwriting tool. Can see myself using this a lot and am pleased that I was able to pay for it.

For me I prefer it as a stand-alone tool. Don't need AU, midi export is perfect.

Two things I would like to see are:

    1. A groove quantise so we could overlay different feels on a sequence.
    2. In song loop mode, the ability to specify that each section should loop a specified number of times.

    1. Will consider adding the groove param.
    2. You can repeat a section any number of times. Slide a section to the right, tap Repeat. It will create a link instance of a section. If you tap on Clone instead it will create a new section by copying the current. When you edit a repeated section all the occurrences are affected. See the manual: https://tunemaker.app/manual/docs/tuneView#clone-or-repeat-section

Thanks @Dmitry_Klochkov nice! I didn't know about the swipe actions. With respect to repeating sections if I want 16 repeats of the first section and then 8 of the second, that's going to be difficult to view and manage. Would you consider having a repeat number?

I agree. Will think about adding repeat number parameter.

  • Amazing. It took me only a few minutes to make something musical at the laundromat. Not good, but “musical”...

It’s everything I wanted Klimper to be. Great work @Dmitry_Klochkov!

  • I don’t fully get the relationship between Tune Maker and Chordflow. They seem to be very similar. Anybody know what the intended use cases are for either app?

  • Great News. Thanks.

Tune Maker is a successor of ChordFlow in a way and the apps overlap in functionality in many ways. Firstly it was supposed to add all the changes to the ChordFlow, but it is turned out that there are too many changes. So it made more sense to me to make it a separate app.

Main differences between two apps are:

    1. Tune Maker is a document-based app.
    2. TM has a a more traditional note editor(aka piano roll) where CF is a step-based sequencer.
    3. TM is a AudioUnit v3 host. CF is not.
    4. TM has a more advanced chord selector.
    5. TM has MIDI IN
    6. TM has a chord recognition feature. You can input chords from your keyboard.
    7. TM has drum tracks. CF doesn’t.
    8. In TM each track is polyphonic. You can have multiple events playing at the same time. In CF only arpeggio tracks are polyphonic
    9. Tune Maker have two color themes: Dark and Light. Current theme can automatically adjust to the system-wide appearance.
    10. Tune Maker doesn't support Abelton Link yet.

I just got the app.. I have question: I've chosen a chord progression but I'm unable to hear that chord sequence play. Isn't that possible? I want to hear it as part of the melody + arp + drums...

Check out the FAQ section in the manual

The chord track does not produce any note events by its own, it works in pair with the arpeggio tracks. An arpeggio track is mapped to the chord track to produce actual note events.

Okay.. so it is not possible.. It only maps the arpeggio track to your chord progression but you can't actually get the chords to playback..

  • You can however pick as many notes from the chord in the arpeggio to play at once...
