    This is not usual behavior. I've never had the pop up other than when long-pressing the knob. When just turning the knobs, I've not seen the menu pop up.

    Is there a problem with midi? Think you have to delete app to make shockwave respond to midi again?

  • Nightmare. Seems like not only does shockwave not respond to midi. So you either have to reload or re-install.

    Theres maybe an aum problem also where ripplemaker and shockwave only respond to midi ch 1 via aum keyboard. Which means they wont respond to chordjam ( or filter if needed )

    Cant use ipad mini for what I bought it for.

    Shockwave does seem to need to be re-installed but to make things worse. Does it seem like theres an aum issue where synths. If omni or midi ch 2. Only respond to midi ch 1 filter system (notes ) not cc ( I think )

    That could be because all @ka010 's apps seem to have MPE enabled by default...
    ...changing that usually fixes the issues with midi-channel selection in AUM.

    Routing the AUM keyboard to a midi-monitor shows that it only sends on Midi Channel 1.
    As far as I know you can not change the midi-channel the AUM keyboard transmits on.

    The remaining solution if the built-in keyboard is used is to create a mozaic script or use another midi-filter app to translate the channel to something else.

    Maybe @j_liljedahl will add more configuration options for the built-in AUM midi-keyboard in a future update?

    Think theres a problem though. Wouldnt care about aum keyboard but chordjam only sends to midi ch 1. With chordjam being omni.

  • Could be me. Only mapped an entire system yesterday after not using ipad since May. For reasons like this.

    If I cant filter from aum properly. Or all channels need midi ch 1 to be on. Does it mean when I go back to my mapped system. It wont be filtered as needed?

    I always only use one channel when I filter stuff be it 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15 or 16.

    Some apps however might be hardcoded to receive on a specific midi-channel thus making it appear that the AUM filtering is not working.

    Chordjam dosent work now if midi ch1 isnt not filtered. Which means it cant be auv3 in terms of midi but I dont think its chordjam a problem. I think it means every channel in aum would also need midi ch 1 to not be filtered.     What do you mean. You only use 1 channel to filter. If something is on midi ch 10 ( an external keyboard ) You only need midi ch 10 as an aum input for that aum channel?

    but if another keyboard were on midi ch 7. That aum channel would be midi ch 7?

    I will probably find its me but seems like aum cant filter and or blocks channels.

    I suspect that Chordjam on iOS/iPadOS is 'locked' to working on Midi Channel 1 as there are no settings for midi-channel selection in the app. (Meaning it both responds and sends on only Midi Channel 1).

    I don't have the app but I've read thru the manual a couple of times and there's no indication of any midi-settings.

    If you intend to control instruments on different midi channels using Chordjam you'd need to 'convert' ChordJams Channel 1 events to match the target channel as Chordjam seems to output on Midi Channel 1 only...
    (Could be a bug in ChordJam, it's had its share of bugs, some still remain unfixed thus I've not 'purchased' it yet).

    AUM only filters, it doesn't convert. (I wish it did convert too...).

    If possible share some screenshots of the settings, that would really help in troubleshooting.

    Theres midi setting in chordjam. Its just Iv never needed to need ch 1 in aum to be on. With another midi channel that anything else actually is. Maybe the aum keyboard is midi ch1 and chordjam has to be midi ch 1 ( even with a midi settings ) and maybe this is only noticed because im using ipad screen and didnt notice euclidean settings in drambo were actually actually affecting the other other track ( through chordjam )

    I guess my mapped system would only show a chordjam problem. Mononoke is midi channel 1 to a controller for better and host au parameters. I will see if I kept that filter on in aum. In all other channels. Just so midi would work for other stuff but most midi is from drambo anyway. Mainly drums.

    I guess probably just chordjam.

    Cheers Sam. Will post back when I check all system midi ( not from screen ) How mad if not a problem. People will think how can midi be affected by a screen. Or screen keyboard and an app.

    Well, the AUM keyboard and any other on-screen keyboard are just a 'midi controllers' so everything that applies to an external midi controller also applies to them.

    But yeah, it can get a bit tricky to get it sorted out at times, but once it clicks it's a win.

    MPE apps (Shockwave is MPE enabled) are tricky to 'filter/control' as each note is sent on a separate midi channel, so for example sending a chord to a MPE based app requires each note to come on a separate midi-channel and recording MPE to a midi sequencer could require all 16 channels for one app.

  • Its chordjam. Like you say. It does have midi settings per auv3 though. Would have needed to map chordjam parameters because even euclidean speeds to chordjam random chord to a mono synth and pitching key via launchpad. Isnt that good but a couple of generative synths ( including shockwave ) would be cool. If tweaking loads of other stuff. Like drums and other non euclidean synths. At the mo. Just using an ipad mini 5 for ripplemaker. Chordjam needs to sort midi channel.

    I love the sound of the demos but the frequent reports of problems have me kind of spooked. Have the kinks been (mostly, at least) worked out?

    I guess I’m asking for someone to tell me to go ahead and get it, lol. Weekend’s here and I need a project!

    Imo, it’s a good synth. It takes a little time to learn as it isn’t a typical synth. Imo, it’s a solid app.

    I really love this as a lead synth. It sounds amazing. Maybe my favorite lead synth. And yet I have always had problems with it crashing or otherwise acting up, and so I stopped using it. I'll give it another shot later tonight and see how it's performing.

    Just downloaded it to check. Standalone doesn’t work at all. AU works in AUM, but does not respond well to Velocity kb. It used to, but no more. I’ll probably delete it again. I used to love it, but it seems to be broken and abandoned now.

    I'm glad you posted this...I was actually considering it!

    I realized something...I've never seen a YouTube video by ANYBODY with any kind of negative review for any synth apps. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough but I literally don't know anything negative about a product unless I read it here.

    That’s not a knock on anyone, btw. For all I know there could be a huge amount but the YouTube algorithm hides it

    FWIW, it has been stable for me and I don't have a problem using velocity keyboard with it.

    @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr : what problems do you have with Velocity Keyboard and Shockwave?
