Oh sorry. I never tested for geoshred, just SWAM stand alone.

Ah, is there still going to be a swam standalone? I thought that on iOS this was just being integrated into geoshred. Maybe that's why there is no beta for that any more. Unless I'm mistaken about that

  • hey I volunteer, if moforte is still enlisting. I'm a player.

  • Audio Modeling is working on stand alone for iOS, which is separate (and more fully featured) from the Geoshred IAP. As far as I know, only Brass is in the works for stand alone, and Geoshred will get all the instruments sooner perhaps, but they will have less features.

  • Ah, thnx for the clarification

  • Fuck SWAM. Long live SWAM.

There seems to bee a misunderstanding about the SWAM/GS release date. Per the Press release here:

    http://www.moforte.com/namm-2020-demo-schedule-for-geoshred-5-0/

"Initially, the following instruments will be offered. Violin, Cello, Tenor Sax, Flute, Clarinet, and Oboe. The SWAM instruments will be available as In-App-Purchases (IAPs) for $15USD per instrument, in GeoShred 5.0 slated to be launched Q2/2020."

The pandemic is slowing down our development process just a bit, but sometime in Q2 (April-July) is still reasonable.

I think there's still a misunderstanding about the release date.

I was about to sell my seaboard block due to ROLI never released any AUs on iOS .
Also , current synths that supposed to support MPE are very limited to poly afterthouch only

Now I’m between selling it and use GeoShred or
keeping it and wait for separate AUs and use block only for those.

    What do you think?

  • edited September 2020

Geoshred is great but you don't have the same velocity control. When Audio Modeling bring out their own apps for SWAM sounds, probably later this year, I think you will be glad you still have an external mpe controller like seaboard, despite all the annoying things about seaboard and Roli

That's still in beta, hopefully won't be too long. It's been a pretty crazy year, right? 😅

  • I don't know if this link has already been given here :
    https://community.audiomodeling.com/index.php?u=/topic/24/a-rough-roadmap

But it recaps all the roadmap for SWAM in iOS, both in GeoShred IAP or standalone version and gives details about the differences in each one. To make it short :

    • The GeoShred version will be "optimized" for use within GeoShred (compared to controlling the standalone version from GeoShred MIDI out)
    • There will be more modeling parameters accessible in the standalone version compared to GeoShred IAP (we may deduce from this that the IAP will be cheaper than the standalone) and less compared to the desktop version.
    • In the Geoshred version, only MPE controllers can be used whereas the standalone version accepts standard MIDI controllers (ie. conventional keyboards).

I also learnt that Audio Modelling is preparing "Ensembles" (in contrast to the "Solo" products). Quite exciting...

  • The SWAM instruments show up in the Appstore as IAP’s of Geoshred. But I can’t find any way to purchase them...Anyone else had more success?

  • I can see the new IAP's listed in the App Store - 6 instruments for $15 each or a bundle of all for $75 (one free essentially).

    GeoOboe
    GeoCello
    GeoTenorSax
    GeoClarinet
    GeoViolin
    GeoFlute

  • How can you buy them? Can not see any option in geo.

Folks, The IAPs for GeoSWAM instruments are visible because of an issue with how the iTunes App Store works. There is a new feature to make IAPs have a buy buttons on the app page, and it looks like we can't tie the IAPs to a specific version of our app, so they are showing up as visible for GeoShred 4, rather than GeoShred 5 which will launch next week. We are looking for a way to make them not visible until next week. Thanks, Pat Scandalis CEO/CTO moForte Inc.

    Thanks for the info.

Will GeoShread 5 be a a new buy or an upgrade. Just to understand if I have to save more money then the one asked for the Swam Bundle😜

    Unbelievable..

  • Pressure sensitive ?????

  • Only on phones with 3d touch i think

Hey Pat, I think if you toggle them off on the In-App Purchases / App Store promotions in App Store Connect that's supposed to do the trick, but I guess you've tried this already? I would be totally not surprised if it doesn't work

  • Please pretty please, GeoStrat guitar would be sooooo awesome!❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thanks we did do that and it seems to take a couple hours to propagate to the iTunes App Store. It seems that the iTunes App Store will make them visible in the existing release, if we submit a testflight build for the new release, and the binary contains a method call to the SKPaymentTransactionObserver method. Apple does not currently have a method to partition IAPs for a specific build.

Tones4Christ, in GeoShred under "Menu> Model & FX> Guitar> Instrument" you have a choice of 6 different calibrated instruments. Two of them were calibrated from a Strat, we just can't call them that. They called "Single Coil xxx"

  • I'm curious about scaling... can we run up to 6 instances of GeoShred with 6 SWAM instruments loaded and spread it across 6 channels using MIDI in AUM? or as close to that as the CPU would power? YMMV.

I'm hoping that's a possibility but freezing tracks in Cubasis would be the next path to making really nice
chamber music recordings with these beautiful sampled instruments with extra mod controls. Cubasis
supports MPE MIDI targets and has a nice MPE-enbable keyboard too. It was @thesoundtestroom's "Game Changer" and this fits right into that game for Doug.

Gavinski is correct. We use 3D touch for velocity/Pressure on devices that support it. KeyY touch/KeyY for devices that don't. Playing the models on a large phone with 3D touch is a very satisfying experience, and the size of the phone is not so challenging. Lots of folks have been using phones for this purpose. Yes Apple has dropped 3D touch, but an aftermarket phone with 3D touch + GeoShred is a very cost effective way to get into a full MPE controller + Models. Examples here:

    Gerald Peter, Wah Guitar:

    Marco Parisi, Cello:

  • @moForte ... any chance for a SWAM trumpet? Definitely the hardest acoustic on iOS, IMO.

Audio Modeling has not licensed the Trumpet to moForte/Wizdom at the present time.

If we ALL promise to buy all 6 of these will we get more? I'll promise if we can have more
    and I'm sure another 10 people here would agree. So, that's $75 * 11 = $825. Damn. Split 3 ways?
We'd need something like 15 people, right? Not sure we can commit.

Thumbjam has a couple of nice trumpets.
