Felt like I was whisked away to the Amiga era on some of the tests. It seemed a shame to me that there was no audio in any of the tests. In fact, I would think a performance utility focused on audio/midi is needed. Here are my results on a mini retina...

  • ... big difference between disk performance on iPad 3 - and later models!

Been playing with the arps in zeta. They are amazing beasties.

Try this. Select preset Keyboards/Disoriented. In arp page select arp201. Press Hold button. Press A4,C4,E4 (Am chord) the slowly wind up the speed to the top. Change speed and the effect is like Alchemy soundscape presets. In some positions it endlessly evolves. Different chords give different effects.

C chord based on C3 gives a quite eerie sequence, too.

  • Anybody know if it can load Scala files like the PC version?

Apologies for not buying apps just when I thought I had seen it all.

  • I don't think that was a sincere apology!

  • Wow that video is rather bad. It's more of an anti-marketing tool... But the synth is good, if you like Thor or Sunrizer don't see why you wouldn't like Zeta.

What!!??!! The driving soundtrack and the guy slowly playing chopsticks on stage didn't send you immediately to the App Store?

What's a marketing department to do? Lol!

    Doug's video was tons better.

At the time, I was scraping for more information on the ios version and thought I'd post what I found.

"@Yendor said: Sorry but that isnt gonna sell it to me !!"

Just to be clear, I never said that!

  • I'v got the Z3Ta+ and I thought I liked it, but after watching that video, I think Im gonna ask for a refund! :)

    Guess nobody here knows.

I'm fine with sticking to Sunrizer as the synth of choice for unusual tunings - it can at least load Scala files and has a solid track record.

  • Just curious, other than the Z3TA+ 2 Classic Content and New Factory Content from the desktop version, can anyone recommend some other free sound banks for the iOS app?

Loaded those and a few from Tone Colors at AudioBombs and all seem to work perfectly.

  • Is it just .fxp files that can be loaded into the iOS version? I thought I saw 2 other types... like .fxb and .cms files from other sound developers.

  • Hhmmm, I have pretty much all the essential synths and keyboard apps, ISEM , animoog, Imini , ims20, Ipolysix , Thor, megellan , Nave, Sampletank , IGrand , ilectric, epic synth, Nlog pro, voice synth, articsynth and more, to be honest Z3tA is in the middle or closer to the bottom as far as overall sound quality and interface functionality , I'm hoping some updates will change my option.
Some of the features and functions could have been better executed. Particularly where the fonts are so tiny and where you have to touch to make changes are soooooo tiny. I can only give this a 3 out of 5 stars.

  • OT: But, Ronnie over at Rekkerd posted a link to a - I think - one day (today) 1/2 price sale on Z3TA+ 2 for MacOS and Windows. Might be of interest to some who have been trying out the iPad version.

  • Yeah... I do not have an iPad... shocker I know... I have been trying to mix my iPhone with mac virtual instruments, with great success. I downloaded Z3ta+2 mac demo since it is 50%, I will be buying it. Pretty great stuff. Especially when using controls like Soundprism, Thumbjam, Gestrument, and now Muza... Muza is pretty cool with Z3TA

  • Guys, i am really enjoying this new synth Z3TA+. I am so amazed at how awesome the pads sound. Still learning how to use it, but i really do with the preset screens or use presets could be pinned open to be able to select different patches while playing live on stage. I hope they can do this someday.

    Patch arena.

  • I saw this on the KVR forum:

    Hello,
Stay tuned, we are currently working on our first update to Z3TA+ iOS.
This update will include advanced MIDI functionality!!

    Thanks for your support!

  • Thanks Keebo, awesome news, I can't get enough of this awesome synth. I bought NAVE, sounds beautiful but really lacks the analog warmth of Z3TA+, it is still beautiful to use in its own right but, Z3TA+ is so analog sounding!

  • I'd settle for what most people consider basic MIDI functionality.
But I'm glad to hear they are working on an update.

  • Great, Z3TA+ is useless in with the current MIDI functionality.

  • @Greg said:

Correction,, (useless for midi). It has excellent audio uses however!

  • Oh, that's not what I meant. I was typing something else...pushed the wrong button and then posted the last saved draft.

    This is what I meant;

Great, Z3TA+ is useless in BM2 with the current MIDI functionality.

    Audio functionality is awesome indeed!

  • Hello,
Z3TA+ iOS 1.1 is now released!

    What’s New:
    • For greater expressiveness, a simple yet powerful MIDI Learn mode offers multiple continuous controller assignments or multiple continuous controllers per assignment
    • MIDI Learn save, load, and clear configuration functions
    • Improved MIDI Channel selection (Omni as well as channels 1-16)
    • Multiple MIDI input selection
    • Clock Sync for tight rhythmic integration with other instruments and systems
    • MIDI input indicator lights for visual feedback
    • Manual localization in French, German, and Japanese
    • Onboard X/Y Pad integration with more factory presets

Also the preset window will stay open until you press out of the window
    Hope you enjoy!

    LOVING THIS AMAZING SYNTH!!!!!
