51 FREE Presets for IceGear’s Kronecker Synth by Spidericemidas
IceGear’s Kronecker Synth was designed specifically for producing percussive, bell and clockwork-type sounds, hence the name Kronecker and hence the theme of Time for this preset pack.
Kronecker has a very interesting and unusual architecture. Up to four sound sources each with Amp and Filter Env, LFOs assignable to the usual suspects, a range of noise generators, FM etc.
Each sound source can be routed either the traditional way or through a tempo-synced facility called a particle trigger rather like a 16 step sequencer where you decide which steps will trigger the notes you are holding. And you have these options for FOUR sound sources!
There are two types of preset in this pack. Traditional presets which behave and can be played in the traditional way, and trigger presets noted with (Trigger) in their names which make use of the particle trigger facility to produce tempo-synced rhythmical behaviour of any notes that you are holding down. The best way to explore and understand the (Trigger) presets is to just hold one note at first and listen to the timing/rhythm of the triggered note. Then you can start adding and playing more notes in time with the rhythm. If the time keeping of your live playing is adequately accurate, it is possible to produce complex overlapping and repeating phrases of notes to compliment each other to very nice melodic effect, especially as they are also routed to Kronecker’s tempo-synced Delay fx. Of course, driving the triggered presets from a sequencer will produce perfectly timed results.
The effect of the particle trigger used this way is a bit like playing with an Arpeggiator, but much more interesting with more player control.
If you are interested in bells and percussive clockwork-type sounds, Kronecker is for you!
Hope you enjoy testing these presets. Installation should be a simple save to Dropbox and then export/open in Kronecker, and the bank should find its way into the “User” folder on the main library page.

(Edit) One VERY IMPORTANT NOTE I forgot to mention about Kronecker. Currently when using it in a host like AUM for example, you MUST ensure that the buffer settings in Kronecker and the host app are set the SAME, otherwise the presets will sound dull and in some cases completely different to how they should truely sound. Satoshi is aware of this, and may be looking into addressing it. But for now, as long as the buffer settings match, the presets will sound true and there is no problem. I’ve been driving some of the triggered presets in AUM with 4Pockets DigiKeys with very pleasing melodic results. Just make sure your buffer sizes match in a host! If buffer sizes do not match, the dulling effect is most drastic and noticeable in AUM, but not so bad in Cubasis or NS2
Cheers!

First!!!
Thank you - unheard!!! Have to check them later but I loooove all your work!!! 👊🏼😘
This synth was already high on my wishlist😁
Only had a quick play, but damn fine sounds Sir. I stopped programming this a while back as I got distracted, but you’ve dragged forth some lovely sounds outta this - better than the sounds that come with it
evocative sounds .... beautiful
Many thanks!
Doug at thesoundtestroom will hopefully be demoing this bank in a live stream tomorrow eve 8pm UK time (Tuesday) 😉
I think you may like a lot of these presets especially when you experiment with and get used to playing the triggered ones. 😃
woaaaah!!!! these are insanely awesome man! i’ve never really connected with kronecker even tho i’ve always considered it to be a really good sounding/ quality’s instrument, but just flipping thru these with some alteza on them ive already been thinking of many creative ways to use them... ima have to put out some songs using 100% spider presets man cuz they are always my go to! thanks for these man !!
Thanks, fella! 🙏
I’ve come to really love the particle trigger! So many rhythmic, melodic and expressive possibilities when each different sound source can be individually triggered at different times! 🤯😃
Glad to get this one out there. Now back to Alpha!! 🤣👍
Thank you! 🙏
Just remember to check my EDIT about buffer sizes in the description if using Kronecker in a host especially AUM. Thanks! 🙏
Hope you enjoy them!
Awesome! Thanks, mate! That particle trigger facility is Kronecker’s trump card! It’s brilliant when you realise how it can be used.
Oh yeah! A bit of reverb works wonders on these bell and percussive sounds! Just make sure your host and Kronecker buffer settings match, otherwise sound quality can suffer enormously. It’s something that Satoshi is aware of and might address in future. But as long as buffer sizes match, there is no sound problem.
Have fun with them! 🙏
@Spidericemidas Excellent thanks! Needed something to cheer me up today ...
@Spidericemidas
Christmas in March
As usual your stuff is so very tasty. And as usual you really draw out and show off the synth’s virtues. Which in the case of Kronecker is no small thing. It’s a synth I suspected, (and now know, given your bank) was capable of gorgeousity, but I had no idea where to start.
Instant dl... excellently krafted!!
Octothanks!
You’re welcome, man! 😊
Thanks a lot! Ha yeah, I’ve had Kronecker since it was first released, but it looked so bizarre, confusing and a bit too odd-ball, I didn’t understand it or think I’d ever get any useful sounds out of it, and nobody was making any banks for it, so I simply ignored it. Then, not to be beaten, I sat down with it again a couple of weeks ago, had a eureka moment with the architecture and the particle trigger, and couldn’t put it down after that! 🤣 Now I’ve finally realised what it can actually be made to do, it might be my favourite IceGear synth even over LaGrange!
Cheers! 😊👍
The way Kronecker is ‘wired’, is very interesting and unique on the iOS synth market. I think this bank has been the most fun and rewarding to produce, so far.
These are brilliant! Thank you so much. 🙏
So glad you were able to figure the issue out although I still don’t really understand how and why the buffer setting has such an effect.
Excellent! 👍
Yeah, a strange one, that.
Thanks to Satoshi for his super quick response and advice on solving the issue.
Wow, these are most lovely. I spent about three months completely fixated on Kronecker, mostly right after it was released. I dove deep into the options and subsequently wrote three or four arrangements around sounds I sculpted in the app. I think they still hold up as some of the most unique tunes in my set. What impresses me about your presets is that they are quite classy, with nary a whale sound to be heard. That's quite a feat with this app.
@Spidericemidas WOW. Who knew that today would be Christmas.
Again 👊🏼™️💕
man just wanna say again these are awesome and about to get abused!!
thanks for the reminder on sample rate
I love Iceworks’ synths, I badly wish they were mpe, I would use them a lot more if they were. Really dug your patches for continua @Spidericemidas , so looking forward to trying these!
Many thanks Spider - I'm looking forward to this.
Takes some serious skill - not to mention excellent musical ears - to get far with some of the Icegear synths I find, all lovely and strange as they are ... just SO strange - I get lost and wander off all the time. But all these synths have personalities - eccentric personalities.
I'm a big fan of their little arpeggiator/sequencer thingie - surprisingly flexible... and Scatterbrain by the venerable Master Bos just does wicked stuff to 'em all.
Is there anywhere on this interweb business where one might find a full pile of your synth presets, music and the like? Might form a cult.
Just previewed these, another superb quality collection that really shows what this synth can do. Ive been holding off getting Lagrange as I’m trying not to buy non-mpe synths but you might just have convinced me to get Lagrange, this guy’s synths are just so special.very kid of you to share these wonderful quality presets, big up!
And by the way, these, and the general kronecker presets, sound really wonderful played through the chordial Mozaic plugin. They're just perfect for it.
AMAZING!!! Gave them more a go and I have to say... wow! You actually get 102 Presets, because there is a huge difference between holding/latching the key and just pushing it. They unfold and evolve their beauty. Great work mate!!! Great work!!!
@Spidericemidas These are a treat! Only got through a few of these before I got lost in the sound.. aimlessly wandering down a trail full of song.. beautiful..
A synth without presets from you is.. incomplete.. seriously.. thank you kindly for these and all the others that you’ve generously shared with us.. 🙏
