Kudos to you @Spidericemidas , now that I started more serious attempts to do something useful with Kronecker I realize it's no easy feat, all have to be balanced with care and
I always work in stand alone when doing sound design as there are no reason to use AU as that comes when done. But sometimes it's neat to have some player so you don't have to tap the keys to get confirmation on what you doing. ChordJam is so good for this it almost got to be a song just switching between presets :D :D

Thanks very much my fine fellow patch maker! 😊

Same here. I always program in standalone too. It forces me to try getting the most out of a synth using only its onboard features as I like to see how much a synth can do on its own. You get to know them better that way, I think.

I held off diving into Kronecker for a long time. It’s architecture was so different and mysterious to me. A bit of trial and error at first to find my way around it. But once you suss it out, you realise just how cool that emitter sequencer feature is.

Hope you get on with it ok and maybe knock out a bank for it some time! It deserves more attention and recognition in the iOS community. I’d love to see another synth from Satoshi that builds on Kronecker’s unique features with more options for the sound sources. Like a cross-breed of Kronecker and Lagrange would be awesome. 👍

  • What an absolute treat. Timeless patches wonderful.

    Thank you! 😊🙏

You know what’s interesting to me?
This bank has been on the forum since March 2020 and had levelled out at 3.1k a long long time ago.
Because it got bumped just a few days ago, it’s suddenly gone from 3.1k to 3.6k in just a few days.

Untouched threads pass into distant history very quickly on this massive forum. I sometimes wonder if it’s considered acceptable forum manners to bump your own thread occasionally to raise new attention to it again, especially one that is offering a free presets bank. NOT for stroking the ego with more views and comments, but for bringing it to the attention of newer forum members or new owners of a synth who might be interested in getting a free bank for it, you know what I mean? People who may have missed it first time around. People who are new to the iOS platform etc.

I keep my free presets threads marked as favourites as it’s interesting to watch the stats and see what does well or not so well. Popularity (and price of synth!) clearly plays a part. My biggest thread stats by a mile are on my Audiokit Synth One presets obviously because it’s a super popular synth and it’s free!

So is it good forum etiquette for the originator to bump their own presets threads from time to time?

Why not, it's with good intention so, absolutely! (I know I'm a bit biased on the issue but wanted to weigh in anyhoo :D :D )

No need. I mean, I can always ask you about other presets in a spontaneous but well-timed manner, like I did with the IceWorks stuff... 😎

    This would be amazing!

You should absolutely bump the threads. I can't express to you how much enjoyment I get from listening to and dissecting your presets. They have quite literally opened some apps up for me, allowing me to understand them and be productive with them. If bumping your threads allows more people to get that same enjoyment, then you are doing good in the world by doing so! B)

  • @lukesleepwalker That’s good to know. Thanks very much for the kind words. 😃🙏

Great rec @Spidericemidas I got Kronecker after your nudge and it’s excellent. Thanks again for the rec and patches.🙏🏽

Sweet! It’s definitely one of a kind!
I’m exploring Lorentz at the moment. Not so much there to tweak as Kronecker, but still a good amount of scope and I’m enjoying working with it and pleased so far with the results. So I think a bank for Lorentz is next.

  • Ooh, nice. I just bought Lorentz the other day... :)

  • i use buffer size 128 to minimize latency in a live electric guitar rig. does this still mean these presets will sound wrong? will they be too bright? any workarounds? tia...

I believe that if you’re using Kronecker in a host such as Cubasis or AUM and now possibly the new Loopy Pro as well, as long as the buffer setting within Kronecker matches the buffer setting in the host, there shouldn’t be a problem.

You have to set the buffer size in Kronecker in standalone mode first as it’s not available to change once plugged into a host. Then you can close Kronecker standalone and open it in the host. Kronecker will always remember its last buffer setting after shutdown.

If using Kronecker only in standalone mode, say, being played by a midi keyboard, then it shouldn’t matter which buffer setting its on. It’s only when host and Kronecker buffers do not match that there’s a problem.

    Hope that helps! 👍

  • Thank you Spider! I just got Kronecker... I love it. It's such a wonderful little thing-- but what you have done with is here is amazing. No surprise really, everything you do is amazing. Thank you so much for this!

  • Here is a video I made this morning revisiting this brilliant pack by Spider, I was surprised to see that it was 2020 when this was first released, time flies.

  • @Spidericemidas could you reupload this pls? 🥺🙏
