This thread currently has a kind of ‘chum thrown into piranha tank’ vibe.

I'm keeping an eye out for the free stuff (the truly free stuff, not "free with a lot of IAPs") but my "buy everything" days are long gone.

If I can't sit down and get something going with everything I already have then it probably ain't happening.

At the moment I am trying to make reggae and dub reggae
So sounds like the Hammond and electric organ etc is what I am after
Would the neo soul studio 2 be a good choice ?
Or what other options are there for the type of sounds I am after ?
    Any help would be appreciated

HUGELY underrated and excellent-sounding synth. The closest thing on iOS — I have heard it described! — to an ØCoast.

  • SO MANY GREAT DEALS!

  • I’m finally starting to get close to filling up my 250gb iPad Pro
When’s the new pro supposed to come out, spring? Lol

  • i’ve been thinking about egoist for ever but never can seem to find much positive feedback on it especially at the normal price...
egoist users? are you out there? does it do good things? drum computer is kinda all i need for drums these days but it still looks like it can make cool drum sound... i mostly like more found sounds/ foley than acoustic or electronic but they all have a place in my mix..
can you make good arps/melodies that would fit the more chilled out downtempo vibe with egoist?

please help lolol i can’t buy another app i dont use 😎

Yeah, AudioDamage prices are soo positively twisted I think to buy them all ;) Taking into account all the applications it's 61% discount. All 19 apps cost the same like 1 desktop Continua including 50% off. Which number are MUST HAVE? :)

These prices are a steal ...

Replicant is excellent for quick and easy beat slicing, from subtle to drastic, with a lot of depth and options to customise the effect
Continua packs a mighty punch for rich evolving ambient and rhythmic sounds (think Bladerunner)
Dubstation is a great bread and butter delay unit
Quanta is a great take on the granular synth genre but doesn't have onboard effects
QuatroMod is great for adding thickness and depth to sounds
PanStation works well for adding a sense of width and space to ambient spaces

Could I get your opinion on the EOS reverb? Can it hold it own beside some of the heavyweight algorithmic reverbs like TB Reverb and Fabfilter Pro-R?

No. It was the first reverb I got on iOS, and I've tried using it since I got the 2 you mentioned and it just doesn't compare.

I like EOS. I’m in no way a reverb “snob” but I think it sounds just fine.
People with a fine ear for reverb really amuse me. I don’t know how many can actually tell the difference. 🙃
Am I like missing some reverb neuron receptors?. I remember watching an interview with Andrew Sheps, where he said he was shit at reverb.
Talking about crappy reverbs... get this one!. It’s horrible in a really good way. It’s like 1€.

  • LOL now the two Evantide bundles I don’t have are 2x the price of buying the items individually on sale, for me. And yeah I’ve done the scroll down trick and it’s actually IS adjusting the price, it just appears the adjusted price is a bundle SURCHARGE instead of discount.

LOL it’s a “reverse Black Friday” trap! #facepalm

  • Now that’s the Eventide I know and love!!!

Eos IS a good reverb, the others are just better to me. Everyone has their own tastes. I actually like ratshack also. Very different. It gives a rhythmic effect unlike any other reverb.

  • @jollyDodger
    Thanks
    Hard to keep up
    So many posts
I have all the apps you mentioned
Also have audio damage dub station, which I love
Think I will be purchasing a few more audio damage apps tonight

They must be changing things and everyone is trying to buy it all during the process. When the sale for ET started at 12AM EST. It was telling me that the bundle was not available. I restated my ipad twice and six try's later I got the fist bundle for $2.01 then 2nd bundle for $11

This is an excellent (terrible) reverb. Recommended highly.

(I, too, think reverb snobs are amusing. Although it's weird how much I really dislike the reverbs in DrumComputer! Go figure.)

@RolandGarros on paper koshiba sounds a lot like perforator. Where is the difference between them? 🤔

It’s much, much deeper and fuller featured than perforator. If you only get one, it should be Koshiba.

Ok fam, I need help again. I have been wanting black hole, it’s been the only reverb I feel like I need (I have pro r)
My question is should I just get black hole at the sale or pick up the bundle that black hole is included in, which comes with some nice stuff but not qvox (another one I’ve been wanting)
But are any of the ones included in the pro effect bundle one worth it too? Should I snag the bundle or just the two I wanted originally?
I have great plug ins but feel I need a good spacey reverb for vocals and a pitch harmonizer or More vocal like effects.

My favorite Eventides are Blackhole and Undulator. Harmonizr is the most mud8cal pitch shifter for vocals.

For anyone else who's trying desperately to wait until all the sales have dropped before shopping, I've put all the stuff I've found on sale this week into a Google Sheet

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-PagS7JgInLVgXnngVPfrrfJAjYseePvKAurYRkWpUA/edit#gid=0

I haven't made it alllll the way back to when sales started dropping last week yet, but I'm working on it.

Please add anything you see missing

This is so helpful. Thanks a lot, @Millwardesque.

I don’t currently own any reverbs but I’m quite into the long, diffuse, shimmering stuff. It seems that you can collect them endlessly. Does any of you fellow reverbheads have any recommendations for a versatile one to begin with? I’m trying to be very selective with my purchases here, but it’s hard to pick without having the chance to try them. —Thanks!

TB Reverb will give you the shimmers and a whole lot more.

English is not my first language so I'm not sure to fully understand you answer. If I understand correctly, TB Reverb is way better than EOS?

He seems to say that both mentioned reverbs are better than EOS

I will grab TB Reverb as my 74th iOS reverb. It looks fun. Thanks!

You will not regret that decision. TB reverb is legit. Probably the verb I use the most. Eos is bleh.

  • What does everybody think about the TB compressor? Is that a "throw it on the master bus and be done" kind of thing? I'm kind of in the market for that, and I wonder if the FabFilter is more engine than I'd need.

The hardware RatShack Reverb, along with a feedback looper and a Death Metal pedal, comprised so many noise set-ups in the halcyon days of that scene. “It sounds like it contains insane demons inside!” was my favorite overheard assessment.

    Anyone tried this? Thoughts?

This synth is, in one word, insane.
Check youtube videos for what kind of unbelievable weirdness people manage to get out of it.

    Quick question...
    Are the IAPs all presets?
Or do I have to unlock anything functional beyond the initial purchase?

This $2 purchase is the only one that extends on its functionality. Fun but not mandatory.

Thanks for the info & reply.
I ended up getting it this morning, and the IAP modifications.
    This thing is the sickest.
It has me making facial expressions previously unknown to me.

Egoist got a lot of love around here. We had a thread on here years ago professing our love. If I’m not mistaken even featured videos by @AudioGus displaying some cool ways to use it. Very underrated. I’ve made complete tracks with just Egoist but have t used it in awhile.

I dig egoist. The way i use it is basically just clicking buttons. A lot of clicking random, listening, tweaking, clicking random on another set of attributes, tweaking, etc. you can get some cool sounds and it’s entertaining for about an hour at a time. It’s different than drum machines - different then anything I can really think of. It basically chops, gates and twists samples ina rhythmic way. I dig it

  • And it’s only just begun. There will be more all the way through cyber Monday. This is my favorite week of the year because of all the amazing app deals. I always prepare and save up for this week and so far it has not disappointed! Now I need a good iTunes gift card deal to maximize my purchase limit.
