Ok, give me a few minutes to look around, and I'll get right back to you.
Can you try iFunBox - Settings - Emulate Jailed Device and see if that works? (See pict)
OSX 10.9.2 here... iFunbox 1.5
I don't think there's anything wrong with iOS 7.1.1 for adding to the 'User Applications' section in iFunbox as I've managed to add loads of Z3ta folders and files via that route (rather than adding in the traditional 'App File Sharing' section)
Hmm, I'll try it with a PC at some point, but going on holiday tomorrow.
@ArcaneScreams - is your device jailed or jailbroken?
@skoptic Hi. This device is not jailbroken. I do have one that is, and is on 6.1.6. But I am running 7.0.4 on this ipad 3. Everyone has mentioned 7.1.1. I really have no idea why this is working. And no one else has come forward on this board running the same thing I am. I looked for an alternative way to get samples in from my PC over local ssh, which is essentially what iFunBox is, but it was way too complicated to write a tutorial for that. I don't want anyone to accidentally mess something up just trying to be clever. I have asked the developer to add in sample import in an update, so maybe that will be coming. I have no idea. The only other thing I can think of, is, are you guys running as root on your Macs? Or as Users?
That is interesting that you mention being able to add in other app files. I think someone else mentioned that as well, being able to add in files to other apps. I think there is something here that is being overlooked, just not sure what it is.
I am also on 7.1.1 and using a PC with iFunBox. I very recently downloaded iFunBox and used it to add, replace, and delete samples from iMaschine. But as others have said, it does not seem to let me modify the samples within Oscilab.
So my appaholic tendencies got the best to me and I purchased this thing. In short I like it. This is a music app that's really made for tablets. The interface is nice and it's really easy to learn how to use and come up with something that sounds halfway decent in no time at all. But as many others have stated it is sorely in need of AB and IAA. Some sort of MIDI functionality would be nice as well. I knew all of this when I purchased it though. By purchasing it at 50% off I'm just sort of betting (hoping) that these things are going to be added in future updates.
I do have two questions though. When you make a track more than one bar is there any way to have it automatically duplicate the contents of the first bar? I couldn't find a way to do this so I had to manually put in the notes again.
The other question has to do with its current limited ability to get anything out of it into other music apps. I've tried to get stuff into audio copy and audio share but each time it ended up being the mix down rather than the actual composition itself. Is there any way to do that?
Whatever the case after a few updates this app could become really useful.
The method I've been using to get it into Auria is to do Open In-->Auria. Then in Auria, you have to do Menu-->Import, and you should see whatever you named your recording in Auria's file system. Pick it and it should insert it into a new track. Not sure about other apps. I did manage to get it into Audioshare once but can't remember the exact process.
@SuperNiCd it's the same process - create your mixdown (performance record), select 'open in' and choose Auria, AudioShare etc., from the list of apps.
Ah, thanks @Trueyorky. I remember struggling with getting audio out the first few times and now I'm having trouble remember why it was such a struggle.
@Paulyboy69 - not sure about your first question. When I increase from 1 to 2 to 4 bars, etc, most things to automatically seem to get copied/lengthened without me doing anything special. One exception is if you've drawn an envelope on the big area in the left. That seems to get stretched rather than duplicated to new bars, so it does change the output when you increase the # of bars.
Couple of live jams I did with Oscilab.
Cool jams. I think most people following this thread will know that I spoke with the developer a few days ago. I don't think he would mind me saying that I am beta-testing Oscilab for AudioBus compatibility. I have no information about dates, times, or anything new being added in, like samples. Just to let everyone know, AudioBus is in the works for an update.
@KlaatuNinja - brilliant! I'm not sure why it never occurred to me to use the pads in quite that way but thank you for enlightening me.
@ArcaneScreams - that's really good to know. You know, if the developer is accepting wish list items, this would be another perfect candidate for AB multi-channel, so that effects could be added per track/voice.
Thanks for the comment. I agree with you on the multi-channel. Running this thing thru multi-effects would bring amazing soundscapes.

Hey thanks, this is the way I use Tabletop, but I could only have 4 filters on screen at once. As soon as I saw 6 on one screen I knew I would love it.
I love the live performance element. So much more fun than pressing play...

Yeah I noticed that as well. The only place it didn't get copied when I increased the number of bars was with one of the drum tracks. I don't know why that is when it wasn't that difficult to manually put in the notes again. Thanks for your response.
@Trueyorky said:
Yeah I just figured out how this works. I am a little slow sometimes. :-)
Well at least this is something until Audiobus support comes.
@Paulyboy69 - for the drum tracks there is a button that says "Repeat All Bars" that seems to copy them to the other measures if you grow the length. Is that what you're looking for?
Arcanescreams is it possible to ask the dev about sample import, it's a pretty straight forward question and it's more important than audio bus?
@kobamoto I have done this, yes. However, I have no information pertaining to its availability in an upcoming update. I would like this implemented. It takes this to a whole new world.
I like this app. It's been fun twisting around (within its own confines) to get past the chiptune aspect. For all of that, I would really like sample import. It's a great modeling base, I just want to select my own clothes...

Yes that's exactly what I am looking for. I'll take a closer look when I get home. Thanks.
I had ignored all threads about Oscilab, thinking that it was an oscilloscope app - My eyes have been opened! Although I'm not into the chiptunes aspect, I think there is enough here to warrant a purchase...
My attempt to do something non-dancey with Oscilab - ended up playing an XY pad or two, but even then there's still some kind of beat being imposed:
This may of been covered before apologies if it has, under the FLT section next to resonance there is a low pass filter button. Can this be used yet as it appears greyed out I assume the only filter is a low pass one and the name is just the title?
@GovernorSilver I like those sounds.
@Jumpercollins I'm hoping it may be a placeholder for something coming. Maybe it is just the title button. Who knows.
This was a tweet from 2beat an hour ago: Oscilab 1.1 submitted to review: audiobus support, background-audio and bugfixes. Still 4.99$ until approved
That is awesome news, can't wait for this to be AB-compatible! I think this app's great for writing quick techno stuff.
Nice. We knew it was coming, but that was pretty fast.
This is why I try not to freak out too much about newly released apps not having AudioBus at 1.0. Yes, it's an integral release, but if the developer is more comfortable making sure the core functionality of the app works (and provides some type of export, like ACP), it's not that big of a deal to wait a few weeks. There's a list of pretty great apps that didn't have AB compatibility at one point in their infancy.

I'm never really clear on the definition of "chiptune" in these parts, so I looked it up (well, at least on Wikipedia):
Generally chiptunes consist of basic waveforms, such as square waves and sawtooth or triangle waves, and basic percussion, often generated from white noise going through an ADSR envelope, low-quality PCM samples, or FM synthesis.
For the above reasons the classic chiptune sound can be recognized from its simple instruments, white noise or low-quality samples used for percussion and heavy use of ultra-fast arpeggios to emulate chords of three or four notes on a single channel (due to hardware limits, several notes must be placed on the same channel).
I tend to think of chiptunes solely as of the 8-bit variety like you'd hear in NES games, or the kind made in SquareSynth: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/squaresynth/id617848755?mt=8
Oscilab's weak point, I think, is unquestionably the limitations to its sound library. It would benefit from an "Open In" or Dropbox .wav sample import. But that gets complicated because of the way it manipulates pitch. Alternatively, the synth engine within the app isn't archaic 8-bit, but it's also not close to the quality of a modern synth app. The drum machine, however, is sample-based, not white noise or synth.
For $5, I felt it was "worth the price". I haven't used it much quite yet, but AB compatibility will only help, and I thought the interface was actually better than I expected.
+1 to the update. Cool.
It's on the bus !
