U just have to set on the app what you are mapping u axis to. In the default setting it is off but it takes literally one second to set up. In Velocity Keyboard cc74 is not automatically set up, you need to do it manually and you need to know how to do it but that isn't any problem caused by Fundamental
The only real mpe problem for me is that per note pitch bend doesn't seem to work on seaboard but the dev will testing that today. It was working before, so it it is not working now it will be fixed quickly. If it is working but it is some error on my part, he'll tell me.
The display problems in AUv3 are due to various amounts of UI being cutoff.
In iPad Pro 11" (2018), the PAN and HRATIO controls are inaccessible in apeMatrix, and only visible in AUM using a workaround that obscures the AUM window frame.
In 9.7?
One potential fix, short of implementing resize, would be to add a two-finger scroll to the app.
Thanks man. Is that in aum? Can u send a screenshot maybe?
Again, I apologise - a slightly misleading comment on my part trying to illustrate my frustrations with the process of tweaking a keyboard app alongside Fundamental in AUM with the previously mentioned interface issues. I'm learning that I should be careful with throw away comments in the forum...😉 @Gavinski
I feel I should write something to clear the air a bit. I genuinely love this app - I saw it first as a desktop release but didn't immediately buy - but the more I learned about it and its creators, I couldn't resist. I was so glad I got it and immediately started creating my own patches. When I saw it was going to be an iPad App too I was really excited at the thought of AUV3 uses so I guess I was a little disappointed by the interface issues that others have noticed and then got a bit too bogged down in MPE stuff (and I'm very new to all that stuff). I think my frustration showed in a couple of tongue in cheek posts yesterday but my experience hasn't changed my basic opinion - this is a very interesting app which can create some amazing sounds, without the need for external controllers, and when used with some carefully selected effects is genuinely astonishing. So, forgive me if I came across as negative about it - it has its faults certainly, but hopefully they'll be addressed...I'd say if you like what Hainbach is doing then this goes a long way to recreating that in a digital environment...😊
I totally understood where you are coming from Nige, and I hold exactly the same opinion. Well worth getting despite the issues, first time the dev has ported to iOS, a lot of things will be learnt from the experience, this is a really cool app though.
Cheers Gav - looking forward to the tutorial...! 😉
This is definitely a case where IAA or full screen audiobus support would be better than AUv3. It runs beautifully in standalone and I can see why they don’t want to compromise the interface in au mode, but in full screen mode I can’t see a way to record output internally to the iPad...
@Gavinski The 9.7 issue is definitely not a deal breaker for me, and just to clarify I did buy the App.
I looked forward to this for ages and it does exactly what I expected and wanted it to do.
Looks great in standalone, sounds amazing to me.
I can access enough of the screen in AUM to make it useable for my purposes.
However it would be nice if it resized correctly, I think these days with so many different sized screens out there it’s important to get that right.
I do only to use this for purely experimental music and am not trying in anyway to make it sound “musical” we have lots of synths for that😂 so loading a preset and tweaking from there is cool fo my use, I just want it to drone away and do its thing with loads of effects added.
I think that the 9.7 sizing will more than likely be fixed in an update though, but it is still useable, just can’t get the whole App on screen at the moment which is a bit frustrating.
@thesoundtestroom my sentiments exactly, I see it as a auditory puzzle box that I can play with for hours meditatively and experimentally. I’m sure I’ll get a more powerful device at some point that’ll let me record it without the odd crackle and pop I’m currently experiencing. It’s also giving me thoughts about really pushing my mirack skills and making something in that which works in a similar way but to my own design... still a lot of exploration in this first though![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I've been completely absorbed running one of the Lionel custom presets (https://www.dropbox.com/s/rwozc1pbn13j86m/Lionel_presets.xml?dl=0) through GliderVerb and Dedalus - totally confirmed that this is a rather special app (though I realise not to everyone's taste!)

Copy to Fundamental\PresetBanks folder on iPad and you're good to go
@thesoundtestroom thanks for the info Doug! In that first screenshot it looked like you would just have to move it up the AUM screen a bit higher, no? Glad you’re enjoying it, me too. REALLY different, but in a way that I like.
@Gavinski Hi Gavin, no, this is the Max I can get it in AUM, anymore and I loose complete control of the grab bar and have to reboot AUM

It’s enough though👍😊
Vid is up folks! Click through to watch on YouTube, thanks for your support.
Detailed Tutorial on Fundamental by Hainbach & Sonic Lab - 4 copies to give away
Fundamental takes the sound of Hainbach’s old analogue Rhode & Schwartz sine generator, multiplies it by 8 and adds a huge number of Stochastic modulation options for gain, frequency, panning and harmonic ratio. It is a great playground for anyone interested in old analogue gear, experimental and ambient music, but also potentially a rich source of sampling material for those with a more sample-based workflow. This video is a very detailed tutorial of everything except the MPE usage, which will probably come soon in a Pt 2 video. If you have bought this app but don’t have the time or inclination to read the manual, this video will give you a full guide. If you are not sure whether or not to buy, this will also be a useful guide. Everything I discuss is relevant to the desktop version too, this is not just for iOS users. There are a few bugs in iOS at the time of release, and some UI issues, but the developer is working fast to fix them and the first update will be out very soon.

Been having a great time demoing the desktop version. It's easy to just get lost in your own world. Only thing that I started to think was it would be a tough experience if not full screen on the iPad. Sorry if I missed it but is the standalone app full screen?
Bought the DivKid preset of YT link. Nice. Thanks for the tip.
@Charlesalbert did you already got it into fundamental!?
Eh, I still like Droneo better. Just run it through Saturn.
Just remembered that I had AUM set at 128 samples for guitar so no wonder I was maxing out the cpu, doh 🙄
Yes I imported them in standalone.
Too easy. I was trying the files app way. Thanks for the pointer mate
Edit: no wasn’t able... 🤔
@Charlesalbert Thanks! Perfect videos for learning Fundamental. And also, some free presets.
To anyone unsure, you have to import the bank in the app, lower right icon externOP IMP to browse to the preset XML file
Waiting on the 9.7 fix, thanks for investigating @thesoundtestroom. I think this will partner nicely with my pet favourite, Shoom. Hainbach seems like a solid bloke, happy to support his adventures in iOS.
Also the GUI makes me shudder because it reminds me of csGrain and its interminable number of bugs. The older school members know exactly what I'm talkin about...the ultimate "why won't you just work" app.
Yeah - sorry, should have given a bit more info - to load a new bank, tap on the name of the currently loaded bank at the TOP RIGHT of the screen - in a new instance of Fundamental this will say Fundamental_factory. This opens a drop down menu with the built in banks as well as those it finds in the Fundamental\PresetBanks folder - these are xml files. Select a bank from there and NOW you're good to go!
Droneo via Reelbus , heavy on the Peturb button!![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
though i do wish i had Saturn, maybe next Fab Sale?
I like this Hainbach dude. I particularly like what he did with the hate comments he received - tape splicing then into an ambient track.
I’m going to buy his app and see if I can work it into a track.
Thanks mate but I am too dumb to get this done!?
I can navigate and select the right xml file and everything but somehow there is no bank being imported... what am I doing wrong?
