I wonder if an overlapping slices mode is possible one day?

Do you mean like a 'free selection' any area of the sample for any of the pads?
In that at the moment no, technically I think it should be possible...

Would be nice as it would reduce the number of instances I use or the amount of pre-setup I do on the loops.

Currently a there are Link and Thru modes for pad playback (Link respects each pads setting, pitch etc. when the following slice is triggered) while Thru mode uses the settings for the pad that one trigger.

Hmmmm, not sure i follow... but I will check the manual...

It’s pretty much a myth that you can’t drink while taking antibiotics. The exceptions are listed here.

    Sorry for being OT.

No that’s fine, thanks for the link. I’ve seen the page already though, and mine is listed :( Not the most serious, but ‘interacts’ with alcohol so drinking can reduce its effectiveness. I’ve been sneaking half a glass of wine here and there from a previously opened bottle so as not to waste it - other sites say a glass or two shouldn’t hurt. I think I’m ok anyway (tic bite) as I don’t have any symptoms, but going to see the course out just in case. 13 days to go and counting. And then I’m going to get hammered!

  • Fun with a vocal sample and the keyboard mode

  • Could that keyboard mode be used polyphonically @ElliottGarage ?

  • yes, I think in the video (when playing a little with the 3rd segment) you can listen some basic chords

  • Cheers Elliott! It’s a bit noisy here so I must have missed that.

And now everybody can see how powerful it is/will be with root note/sustain loop/legato and or pitchbend.
The keys mode when finished will be so much more powerful than slice mode in everyday use, one of those instruments you never think about, but is the basis of your entire workflow.

Yeah, I have already floated the idea of feature IAPs, hopefully he gets on that for some nice future updates.

  • @ElliottGarage whats the max length of sample you can import?

I love Koala but sEGments is AUv3 and has multiple outputs, among other things. So there is some overlap, but they are not 1:1 replacements for each other.

Yeah I get that it was that the stuff on the Instagram video was stuff that’s easy to do in Koala too so I didn’t get why it was so different. Anyway got it on pre order so I will soon find out

I think easy is relative in this use case. I love koala but wouldn't call it easy to get to that sort of result. It does excel overall in ways that segments cannot though.

Wavetable-ish style right there! - (Samptable)

That ^ is the vid that has got me interested.

If that start slider can be modulated, then whoa!

    King

  • Whoa 😳

  • I love me some slight rando on certain things

I don't see it... But I may need it... What is it? Thanks..

  • If you dont know why a simple keys based sampler in auv3 is special, you dont need it, that is what makes it special.
