DRAAAAMBO
Next question: what is everyone using to sequence DRAAAAMBO?
DRAAAAMBO you say, ha - hmm.. will have to give that a try - although I prefer piano rolls, but it can be surprising which app combo's go together well.
Enjoy

Nanostudio 2.
Also works with BM3 and Modstep if you prefer patterns/scenes and MIDI clock.
I just got Quantum sequencer, I bet this would be fun to use the time sliders mode with, where you can adjust very quickly the note time values of the sequence
also digikeys lets you set velocity per step and is super easy to set up
Oh I love it, I like getting loops together and quick with more of a live feel and use my nanopad routed into the instrument and well as Drambo to record what I play and then I can switch scenes super quick and change everything simultaneously. It’s got a somewhat Ableton feel how I can get stuff put together and just jam out on stuff as well
Been thinking about getting ATOM Piano Roll any thoughts opinions ? Would use it in AUM
Yep!
For me those types of sequencers (step) do very very 'naturally' well for drum patterns. For other/melodic and chords - hmm..
Capable? - yes, indeed.
I think for editing, I like dragging the notes around, than tapping..
Will look at that combo dow!

anyone tried with Xequence2 ?
I am very tempted by xequence 2 actually too, so would also welcome any comments from ppl about whether they still dig it or not
Nope, trying to figure out how to play each slice separately in drambo
@iOSTRAKON oh didn’t try yet. i know how to spend my early morning then 😎
combo killer ?
Let me know if you figure it out
@iOSTRAKON for sure
Congrats. Dig into it. It is amazing
Wait a minute. Can I import my own sample into sEGments and then sequence each slice (16) in EG Pulse?
I take it you have Pulse? Sadly I do not, however I do know how to transport the samples to pads in Pulse.
In the presets menu, notice a small arrow next to each preset. Instead of just clicking on the prest swipeto the left. This reveals a new tiny menu, delete and share. Click share and the find Pulse in the copy to... even Segments is listed so Pulse will be. Click on copy to Pulse you should now find that all the samples in Segments have been automatically asigned to Pads in Pulse.
Here's a Drambo project containing 16 tracks with midi output for finger drumming of the 16 slices.
Gate is preserved 👍🏼
Feel free to download this project if you wanna finger drum or sequence sEGments using Drambo. Just make sure SEGments is receiving midi from Drambo in your host.

The patch:
Midi to cv > pitch > midi note gen > midi output.
connect MIDI TO CV gate / velocity to NOTE GEN gate / velocity input
connect PITCH output to NOTE GEN pitch input.
sEGment's default midi configuration starts slice 1 on c4, aka note 60.
60 on the pitch module = Octave 1, semitone 0.
Note 61 = Octave 1, semitone 1.
Note 62 = Octave 1, semitone 2, etc etc.
After Octave 1, semi 12.. move on to Octave 2, semi 1, semi 2...
Short demonstration.. very unmusical, but it gets the point across!

Hope this works for you!
Same for me, as in BM3 but this time AU
Yeah copying it into Pulse seems to be the only way to do it @iOSTRAKON. It’s pretty effortless though and then you can sequence each sample chromatically in Pulse simultaneously
Yup. I also tried the OP-Z.
many thanks @aleyas
@iOSTRAKON i believe you can, i saw a short vid yesterday where @ElliottGarage shows it
The question is if this works too if both are implemented as an AU plugin inside an AUM session. Probably yes
@david_2017 @iOSTRAKON i don’t have pulse but i tried with Xequence2/audiobus/aum and it works fine at the moment, so should be possible with pulse too
Love his apps! Sorry to be a bit off topic for this thread, but is this your favourite step sequencer or does it depend? I'm still curious about exploring sequencers that allow midi note input and then allow you to mangle it. Thesys looks tempting, but the interface is a turn off. Photon is good for midi input, but very limited in what it does, and no state saving is a pain.
This is technically possible without too much CPU load but then I have to ask you over what key range you'd expect it to sound good. Playing a note only two octaves above its original pitch would already require a time stretching amount of 400% and only few time stretching algorithms still sound usable in this range.
But yes, maybe the choice between two stretching algorithms (a tighter one for percussive material and a smoother one for stretching tonal material with huge stretch amounts) would work. The algorithms are available, and choosing a compromise between CPU load and sound quality would be key.
Oh yeah, of course that will do the trick. I think Sevensytems Au plug with the keys and pads are working too, so you dont need xequence2 per se
@david_2017 Xequence2 always been good to me 🍊🍊🍊
