May I suggest two little enhancements to reduce taps:
    2. New: Tap on a running clip will stop the clip at the next sync point

There is already a stop button in each track. The button above mute button.

    👍🏼

    1. New: Long-Tap (Tap+hold for more than 0.4-0.5 seconds) will open the piano roll full-size.

We will reserve the long tap to open the context menu for operations like copy/paste clips.

Ok then double-tap maybe, like in Ableton?

    That makes sense!

  • We are testing version 1.7.1 with important bug fixes based on your feedback:

    • Fix Apple Pencil support
    • Fix host play state sync
    • Fix clock source label
    • Fix note min length
    • Fix timeline disappearing
    • Fix notes delete on move and overlap
    • Fix quantized recording
    • Fix tempo when hosted
    • Fix note off when track is muted while playing

If everything goes well, this should get to the App Store until the end of the week!

The concept is great, no question and I think that part of the "cumbersome experience" is that there's no simple and fast switch between clip view and piano roll, both "full screen" or at least the size of the AUv3 window.

Have you tried to SHIFT+TAP CLIP to select the clip and then TAP the bottom bar anywhere in between the left and right dragging areas, which open the composer section to fullscreen right away?

Tapping the bottom bar anywhere in between the left and right dragging areas works in ALL modules.. far easier than dragging up + down.. #timesaver

Can't wait to get some IAPs as soon as it drops...
FR/suggestion - is there anything in plans to increase the velocity editing area? Or if it's problematic due to available space would you consider solution similar to f.e Gadgets...

When notes selected you can edit velocity with +/- buttons or tapping the velocity area would open it up for fine editing... pretty please? :)

Awesome I’m stoked for that to come out. Thanks for the quick updates and listening to the community suggestions. The host sync will make this my most used controller

Nope I’m not. Using as a midi sender in audiobus. But good point, is that what I would have to do to hear the metronome?

Yeah running it in a midi bus won’t output any sound you’d have to put it in an audio slot

No need. You can add it as a midi sender and an audio input in AudioBus. Flip over the the Audio page and add it, selecting "Instance A", not "New Instance".

Some apps automatically add to the audio page and others don't.

This apps now looks like a...no brainer...a game changer...I mean, it looks interesting isn't it?

Sorry, I was a little bit late at the party. I confirm that this is a great app to add to my arsenal and a good successor to Atom

I did try that and still couldn’t hear the metronome. I don’t think I tried very hard though. Thanks, will try again.

  • Update is out!

  • Eager to see how the Brain Trust finds this....
I've got a weekend ahead of me, and I'm intrigued by the IAPs!

  • After the last release it is now very stable, in sync with the host and I can really see the full potential of the app. I bought all IAP to support the dev but I highly recommend to buy at least the Matrix module. This is really something big that give me the envy to compose and this is important.

  • @sinosoidal

I think the update is very good and has fixed a lot of issues 😊

But I still have one, when recording midi from Riffer into LK.

When I play the midi from Riffer to KQ Dixie, it sounds different from when I play the recorded midi in LK to KQ Dixie.

I have attached two sound clips (at the bottom of my post)

The first clip is Riffer playing, the second clip is LK playing.

    They sound very different.

The screenshot below is showing the midi from Riffer on top and the midi from LK below.

The only difference I can see, is that the midi from LK doesn't set the Velocity value to 0 on the note off events.

Could it be the reason why it sounds different compared to Riffer playing?

Or am I doing something else wrong?

I haven't had a chance to test much this week, but may explain some strange behaviour I've been getting too.

  • @sinosoidal thanks for the update!

I know it only seems like a little thing but syncing stop/start with the host has made all the difference for me.

Also, if you are thinking about adding an arrangement view, please look at the timeline in SunVox. The difference between that and say the arrangement view in Ableton is that you can place clips anywhere. You can also draw a little icon and set the colour for each clip. These two features together make for a really expressive way to see song structure.

  • Sync start stop is working well, just got the xy pad to complete the IAP set, got the rest in last years sale so pretty happy overall.

Looks like KQ Dixie is actually evaluating note off velocities, good to know 😃
Nonetheless, LK sending the same velocity for note off as for note on, although perfectly following the standard, this should at least be configurable.

@sinosoidal Usually, note off messages with velocity=0 don't cause any problems.

It would be the only app I've ever heard of where note-off velocity is configurable. Selling feature? Probably not, but an interesting idea.

At the very least though, I think Note-Off velocity should be recorded, passed through, and played verbatim as received from the input.

    Yep, agreed.

  • Just purchased the Matrix module. Instant CPU overload. Is this common? Can’t imagine that it is, but what is going on here? iPad Pro 12.9 , 3rd gen.

Same problem here - 2018 iPad Pro, massive spike and dsp at 98% when using LK, and no sound.

  • It’s not possible to record (and edit) Midi CC in Matrix!?
Please add Midi CC supportin Matrix soon. I purchased „Controller“, which works fine, but it looks a bit stupid to use another sequencer to record It‘s output. Should be possible in Matrix.
BTW, great app, a huge step towards the „Modular DAW inside AUM“ movement, but it‘s just the beginning and there‘s still a lot to do.
Thank‘s a lot for Apple Pencil support!!!
