  • @sinosoidal Try for yourself: Load LK in AUM, set the audio buffer to 128 and put a few chords onto the piano roll. The CPU load will go surprisingly high (above 20%) without any AUv3 instrument loaded.

Yeah it's strange I get much higher DSP when the gui is hidden than when it is showing, which is the reverse to what you'd expect, shooting up to the 50s at 128 buffer.

This is a starting point. We will investigate and hopefully find a fix soon.

  • Mini 5. Jumping anywhere between 20 and 95%. Midi only, no instrument. 128 buffer.

  • It may have something to do with 'undo'... once you save/load a project it's much better. Still pretty intense on cpu but at least usable.

  • @sinosoidal for what it’s worth... no cpu spikes in apeMatrix.

4 tracks, 2 scenes, 4 synths loaded and only using 13%. iPad 10.5 Pro iOS13.6

This needs a dedicated single tap button.

You can tap on the bar rather than dragging.

It sort of has: tap ANYwhere in between the two dragging handles you use to slide it up (so basically the whole horizontal bat is this desired button ;))

  • @sinosoidal or anyone. I am getting odd behaviour when switching between scenes. Often the notes from the previous scenes clip will play for the next loop of a clip when it should play the new notes. I am playing sustained chords that play for a bar or so. Usually resolves after the clip loops.

I think the update is very good and has fixed a lot of issues 😊

But I still have one, when recording midi from Riffer into LK.

When I play the midi from Riffer to KQ Dixie, it sounds different from when I play the recorded midi in LK to KQ Dixie.

I have attached two sound clips (at the bottom of my post)

The first clip is Riffer playing, the second clip is LK playing.

    They sound very different.

The screenshot below is showing the midi from Riffer on top and the midi from LK below.

The only difference I can see, is that the midi from LK doesn't set the Velocity value to 0 on the note off events.

Could it be the reason why it sounds different compared to Riffer playing?

Or am I doing something else wrong?

Looks like KQ Dixie is actually evaluating note off velocities, good to know 😃
Nonetheless, LK sending the same velocity for note off as for note on, although perfectly following the standard, this should at least be configurable.

@sinosoidal Usually, note off messages with velocity=0 don't cause any problems.

As a temporary patch @White easy to fix this with Mozaic, just convert the noteoff to send the same message with a velocity of zero.

Thanks for the workaround, I have now made a script to do that 👍

However, the developer thinks that LK is recording an incorrect note length from Riffer and he is looking into fixing it.

I manually tried to change the length of the notes recorded from Riffer and now it sounds like when I play it from Riffer.

So hopefully it will be fixed in the next update 😊

Interesting. There is something odd going on with note lengths as I mentioned in my post above.

Thanks! That helps a little but still its not ideal. You have to tap the top of the UI to hide it and then bottom of the UI show it.
A navigational feature this important really needs a button on a fixed position in the UI.
Especially will all that space left on the left side bar.

mmmm ... Plugins can't change the size of their window. Only the host can manage that.

  • I haven’t found how to trig a sequence from external midi. Is it possible ? Or is clip triggering is only working touching the screen?

LK would have to expose such parameters on its AUv3 interface and/or MIDI learn.
LK has originally been built as a remote control but now that it enters the sequencing world, indeed that would be very helpful.

Use iOS Settings > Accessibility > Switch Control with MIDI notes if you can't wait.

I may try it for fun.
But will wait until it’ll be fully implemented to play with !

This issue is not about plugin window size within a host like AUM. Its LK design. Standalone its the same.
Show or hide the clip info should be a single tap on a fixed UI position. Not dancing with a finger all over the screen😎

We are currently testing 1.7.2 with the following changes:

    • Clip properties panel
    • Clip copy/paste
    • Performance improvements
    • General bug fixes and improvements

We are particulary interested in knowing the impact of the performance improvements on your side

  • Do you have a TestFlight for LK, @sinosoidal?

  • The game has changed

Yes, sure! Send me a pvt message with your email. Thx!

  • Is anyone else getting timing issues when changing scenes?

Whenever a scene is triggered, timing goes weird for one bar.
After that, everything syncs up properly.

    Funky?

Should I keep changing scenes to make everything funky? 😂

oops miss spelled haha ya the first bar gets a bit funky and plays at a weird tempo sometimes then catches up, it’s fine for writing but could hurt a live performance

Not experienced timing issues but do have the problem that the noted from the previous clip play in the first bar after switching, only on the first loop around.

  • Yep quite noticeable midi sync issues/jitter. Especially when launching a scene after all clips stopped.
