    So impressed.

  • Great stuff as always @sinosoidal

Just a quick question. Have you guys covered a video which shows how to record to Clips while using the internal Piano and Chords keyboards? For the life of me i can’t figure out how to record a sequence using the internal keyboards.

Keep up the great work 👊🏼™️

We haven't. That's definitely a topic to cover on the next video. But it is pretty simple.

Arm the track for recording, set KEYBOARD/MIDIPADS/CHORDER as input, set clip to play, enable song recording and play on the modules. Beware that if you don't have overdub enabled, all the notes that you play will be deleted when the clip loops.

Thanks. I’ll give that a look.

Is there anyway to know where in the Clip loop you are playing? Is there a minimal indicator in the UI to show where you are in relation to the length of the clip while recording notes?

  • @sinosoidal Wow! You’ve added a ton of features in the properties panel.. Scale, Note Tools, Generate + Follow Actions.. I’ve lost track of all the new stuff.. fantastic additions.. thanks for all the hard work + for being very receptive to user’s wishes.. 👊 👍 👏
Keep the videos coming too.. they’re super helpful..

@sinosoidal i was thinking, if you provided a little Spark line under the Midi Channel of the keyboard you're using which is mapped to the Clip it is playing to, this might be nice to help the user with timing and playing correctly to the length of the track/clip.

    Here’s a visual for what i mean:

Notice the spark line beneath the Channel header (this line is always tied to the Clip you are playing too when using it this way):

  • Also, for what it is worth, the new Note tools are awesome when combined with this new instrument of mine:

  • Is anyone else having any luck getting "Clip Properties>MIDI Trigger" to do anything? I'm trying to get my Quneo triggering clips, but I can't get the two buttons there to respond. They just stay as "CH:NONE" and "CC:0". Tried both as AU and standalone.

@sinosoidal Is this a TestFlight feature that slipped into a final release accidentally? There's no way to start or stop scenes yet either, so I'm guessing this is the case. Or I misunderstand this feature altogether.

In the latest beta 1.8.3 (149) I am unable to select any output, "None" is the only option:

    same here

Fixed in the latest beta :)

    try sliding the value up/down

  • Not trying to cheap out, but can I not use KB1 with LK? Do I need to purchase the keyboard IAP? And similarly, can I record midi into a clip that is generated, say, by Cykle or ArpBud? What does that setup look like?

Yep. Just set up your Midi In to the appropriate devices and channels and you’re good to go.

Sure you can, it's simple. Just route the midi from anything to LK. In the midi settings inside each track, set the input to LK Input (the default), and optionally set a channel. Arm the track. Good to go.

You can also use the host's keyboard.

Ha! Well that's pretty typical. I tried a slide, but I guess I only did it left to right. Thanks

  • Thanks @wim and @echoopera

I got into trouble trying to route the keyboard to the individual synths as well, and apparently you don't want the 5-pin midi icon selected but you DO want the Paris Metro logo selected.

It'll take a little muscle memory but It's like a rock solid Modstep. And has undo!

Paris metro logo? What's that?

  • The M with the circle?

    Paris Métro on WIkipedia.

    Very good!

The M icon stands for MIXER.

Not at the moment. That's something I currently don't like very much. When we are playing/recording on a clip with the other models, you are in the dark and you only reference is the metronome.

I was thinking, if you provided a little Spark line under the Midi Channel of the keyboard you're using which is mapped to the Clip it is playing to, this might be nice to help the user with timing and playing correctly to the length of the track/clip.

This is actually a nice idea. Probably not the best place but I got the essence of it. Thanks for the suggestion. Let's see what we can do.

Scenes midi control is something that has been request too but we didn't find the right place to add the scenes properties yet.

We are just adding our first dedicarted controller support: AKAI APC Mini. Scenes launch is support out of the box on this controllers. And we will add support for APC Keys 25 too because we have one on the office.

We will then add more dedicated controllers support along the way. Launchpad X and Launchpad Mini Mk2 on the way to the office.

  • Still trying to get the Import Midi feature to work in the Matrix - I can select the file locally from my iPad, but nothing happens. File window just closes, and nothing. Tried all sorts. Anyone?!

Send us the file to see if we can find the problem. Send me a pvt message please.

  • Thanks, shall do!

It would be great if we could have Tempo as a scene property so we can have scenes with different tempos (useful for live performance).

I guess that would be possible for the standalone, but not so much for the AUv3, right?

That is not possible. Tempo is a song property and is global for all clips. We are however cooking some new stuff and we might add something to workaround this. More soon!

  • I need to write a very nice review for this app. Extremely impressed by the rate of improvement.
