Yeah, I use the dice because this allows me to (randomly) edit the high harmonic values. Otherwise, with only my big finger on my tiny screen, I can’t plot any varied content in the high frequencies and all looks and sounds a bit similar. At least that’s what I think...
As for the import/export bug, I don’t have used the import yet. So I can’t report anything for the moment. But I will do as soon as I try to import your presets and find something.
Well you could just export a folder with your presets a see what happens (it doesn't work) and report that, that would really be awesome and helpful for all. About the random: sorry if I sounded a bit pretentious I did not mean it like that. I use an iPad and a pen to draw in the graphs in AddStation so there's a big difference as I understand you use phone. Cheers mate!
No, no problem with the random dice !
I didn’t feel like you were pretentious 😅
As for the export, I am not sure to understand : when I export a preset, it works. Do you mean it doesn’t work when exporting a full folder (like « Keys ») ?
Yes. It isn't currently possible to export a folder. If you tap the option to create a zip for a folder of presets, you get an invalid zip file called something like /templates.addstation.zip
Yes, ok. Indeed.
I’m probably being incredibly stupid but I can’t get the filter mod envelope to do anything on this synth. I’ve even tried their own ‘delayed filter’ preset and it sounds exactly the same with filter mod envelope on or off.
Am I doing something silly?
On the delayed filter preset, the filter envelopes are controlled by the mod wheel, so if you are playing on screen and not pushing your finger up pretty quickly, you will miss the effect.
The filter mod moves the filter shape that you have drawn up and down. You therefore need a definite filter shape for it to work on, if the filter shape is just flat you won’t hear any difference.
Gotcha, thanks. I played with the mono bass patch where the filter envelope works. It doesn’t seem to work on other ones I try though. There must be a setting I’m missing. Lots of synths have a knob to control how influential the envelope is on the filter but think I’m missing that on addstation
Filter Mod page - there is a box labelled Mod with a percentage figure in it under the envelope on the right (not the one under the lfo, the two sections are not well separated).
Of course! Thanks
My head just figured that was for the mod wheel effectiveness
I just want to point this out because I completely missed it myself, till now: all template buttons now work and there are some ready presets for e.g Harmonics, Pan, Attack, Noise and so on. Even noticed a few with the Pxlhg prefix . Great feature when building your own sounds and you can easily build up your own stock of maps. There's also templates for blocks so one don't have to copy between documents which at least I used to do. Not for parts though, guess those might be a bit too complex, maybe.
Maybe should have said it in a separate new thread but, I don't know. What do you think?
Nice. So all the template bits aren’t empty anymore?
Exactly
@VirSyn Thanks for the patch crash fix. To confirm I’ve had no more crashes with the same patch.
Hi,
You will find below some acoustic presets : 2 church organs and my attempt to recreate an electric piano. Feel free to give some feedback on how to improve this one.
Tried out Church Organ 2 and it's very nice. Clean and massive and the same time. Great job and thanks
Thanks ! Yes, that was the kind of church organ sound I was looking for 😊.
I will also create a more subtle, intimate organ, the kind of generally used to “fill in” a break during a church office.
Although it remains one of my go-to synths because of its sheer breadth of sound options, I feel there’s room for improvement in the waveform editing area. Being able to apply a template “shape” instead of wildly and poorly sketching a waveform onscreen might help accelerate creating usable sounds. I have nothing but respect for those who’ve gone deep into the weeds to engineer their own patches, because it is a laborious endeavor.
@VirSyn any update on MPE availability for AddStation?
Anyone know if it’s possible to disable the “pitch bend” effect, when you play a key and then move your finger up or down? @Pxlhg ? @VirSyn ? Cheers!
Just tap on "Quantize":
This synth is the closest thing to Razor on iOS I guess?
I want to 'play' some of the harmonics in addstation live but I find it very hard to grab them with accuracy. Has anyone checked whether this works better with a pencil?
Cool, thanks
Sorry for delayed response ( a year and a month....!)
I jump on this thread to say again how great AddStation is. It’s super powerful for sounds like organs or long evolving pads. It sounds super rich with full stereo imaging.
Cheers.
Definitely.
And Harmor
Drone made with a couple of manually tuned and levelled sine tones + noise in AddStation inspired by Eliane Radigue. (Thanks @Gavinski to get Eliane to my attention)
Nice! This is exactly why I would love to get a bit more control over individual harmonics, so I can use AddStation to do these kind of drones. With detailed control over the harmonics, without needing a pencil, it is perfect as a drone machine.
