It appears to be iPhone only.

    It will be iPad too:

Nice! Thank you for the update

Don’t wanna be pessimistic but I doubt it’ll be auv3.
Talking for me but I don’t need another IAA sampler, I have tons and never use them.

I’m waiting on an answer to that. Based solely on the screenshot, I’m guessing it’s meant to be a standalone sampler with a built-in sequencer. Basically a sample groovebox. It’ll be interesting to see what it offers compared to EG Pulse, Koala, etc.

  • hmmm interesting... could be great, could be a flop, should we place bets?

  • honestly looks like it has potential. anything with "random" in it im into. Andrew Huang has a big reputation to live up to as well, i doubt he would allow some garbage to come out.

  • Ah, doing it standalone would be insane. Just because the screenshot shows standalone doesn't mean it won't be AU. You never know though, it's surprising how many devs are still not aware of how essential AU is.

Until it materializes, let's dig out what we have on the iPhone:
Hypertron, Koala, Nanostudio 2, Drambo, Gadget, Triqtraq, maybe iMPC Pro 2?

Trying to recall other samplers and similar stuff:
Samplebot, Strom, Realbeat, Werkbench, ProteinDK, Sir Sampleton, Sampletoy, Triggler

Oh, and not to forget: BeatHawk!

Never forget BeatHawk. I just dug it out yesterday after months of neglect, its multisamples are phenomenal.

Small world – Andrew Huang promoted BeatHawk :)

As nice as it is to have things as AU, people here overindex on how essential it is. There are solid apps that are pro-level workhorses that aren’t AUv3...and the apps are good enough that their not being AUv3 probably doesn’t hurt them...and may even allow them to be more stable and have better u.i.s.

  • @espiegel123 sure, I have several IAA only apps that I love, but in all cases I still wish they were AU, if not for using multiple instances, at least for state saving in AUM.

Don’t get me wrong. When possible, it is nice for them to be AUv3, but not being AUv3 doesn’t kill an apps chances... and in some cases forcing an app to be an AUv3 kills it because for some things it is harder to do well. I think we throw the word essential around a bit loosely when we mean it is something a person would prefer.

  • Perhaps a clue is in the title? In case you don't know...

Sample flipping is the process of slicing up a beat or loop and rearranging it.

  • Boy that was good times when Elta music spilled the beans.......

But I wouldn't want to be responsible for customer support when it doesn't do AUv3... you'll have a lot of emails to answer :D

    Wow
Feel bad for letting this one out.
Gonna add another one... I don't have it, so maybe it's just a sample player like the hardware version...
    Vesuvius Sampler

  • Well he’s got us talking about, so I’d say the tease has done a it’s job. It doesn’t need to be the best though, there’s always room for new ideas.

"Coming soon" doesn't do it for me anymore. :D :D

It says it’s coming to the app store in December in their twitter bio so we have some idea of when it’ll be out.

  • Speaking of devs, what is @mathieugarcia up to these days?

I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make. That he makes money for sponsored videos? Or that he charges to demo someone’s product? Is that wrong? He’s got 2.1 million subscribers.

  • Is this a bad time to bring up Santa?

  • I found a screenshot of the sequencer:

  • Unless it's an AUv3 version of Patterning with more cells, direct sampling & autochop I don't see how anything can make claims about being the most powerful portable sampler.

  • i don’t like the looks of the screen cap but that could be an early version or something

  • Exactly. I think charging is fair enough if he can get it. As long as he states clearly in the video that it is sponsored.> @xraydash said:
