Agreed, what an incredibly responsive developer!

Ok, pasting works as well. For now copying FROM AEMS is not supported, but I do have other things to do.
This also allows you to perform a multi-select in the Files app on multiple audio files and import them at the same time, so that will solve the issue of importing one file at a time as well.
After some more testing, I'll build a new release.
So drag and drop & pasting audio works? Nice! Would it be possible to get arrange window scrolling in the build also?
No, sorry, I really really need to work on other things now. And I lack a trackball/scrolling device.
@dwrae hi . There’s a bug since last update with the Automatic Master Volume Reduction. I switch it off and it goes back on when I close&open the settings window. This affects my audio master volume level and seems to stay on even though I switch it off. Please check video.
I then noticed it stayed “off” which I want but in settings it says it’s “on”

I cannot reproduce it, neither was there a video?
Edit: never mind, this happens when you tap outside of the settings dialog. If you press Close, it will take the setting.
@dwrae thanks for quick response. I done a screen recording but audiobus forum does not accept the .mov format or .mp4. Will email to you. Remind me what’s the support email? Thanks
Edit : ok I will try tapping Close instead. Cheers
@dwrae sorted, thanks
So I spent the last week or so learning how to use this AEM, basically I love it now…
Is there a ripple cut toggle anywhere so I don’t have to menu select it every time? That would make hella lot of difference for eg on routine podcast edits. With the auria-like whole piece/active track select option, that’d be ace.
This app is feckn fantastic, and seems to be getting heaps better heaps quickly.
I'll need to investigate that, but sounds doable. Wait until you see what's coming (well, it's not for everyone, but huge for ones that it applies to, lol).
Thanks for replying… no idea what’s coming next but looking forward to using AEM more, it’s quickly simplified my workflow. Cheers!
Cubasis has been my DAW of choice for a while now, but there's a few things it doesn't have: Time signature changes, Plugin Delay Compensation and ghost/clone patterns (tweak midi data in one pattern, and all others update to match). I notice AEM has the first of these, but does it have the other two?
Secondly, Cubasis is very good at utilising multi-core processors. Is AEM coded to take advantage of multi-core processing too?
It has plug-in delay compensation and I have no idea what the ghost/clone thing does, so that's likely a no. Multi-core processing is still on the todo list.
@dwrae will sidechaining stay only for the ToneBoosters in DAW plug-ins?
Is it possible to learn the cc data from my controllers to an auv3 and then record and edit it?
@headmademusic said:
No, sorry.
According to the code at least, sidechaining should work on all AUv3 effects. Do you have an effect where it doesn't work?
Thanks for the response!
Is it on your plan to integrate this feature? Is it difficult to implement this? I would pay extra for this feature along with the multicore feature!
I have ordered a Apple Magic Trackpad 2.
Multicore is planned but very difficult. MIDI learn is easier, but clashes with the MIDI remote control setup feature, so this needs thought. Multi-core would be on top of my list to implement after the 'new secret' feature has been released.
Actually, I'd like to discuss the MIDI learn thing or in broader terms, controlling an AUv3 parameter by MIDI. What would be the best example of another app doing this already? I don't see how I can pop-up a menu on a control of an AUv3 since I don't own or cannot access the AUv3 UI. It's just being 'displayed', but the app itself does not take part in handling the UI.
Furthermore, what would you expect to happen if there are two instances of the same AU?
Would the MIDI-to-parameter connection be project specific?
Do other apps have a certain place where all mappings are listed? If settings were global (not project specific), you might forget about a parameter mapping and wonder why things sound odd when you adjust a MIDI control.
What would happen when you map the same MIDI CC to multiple parameters?
The MIDI remote setup was created to make it easy to setup MIDI remote control for volume/panning/etc of multiple tracks. USB MIDI fader devices usually are set up by increasing MIDI CC or MIDI channel, so you would only have to enter the first MIDI CC and tell if the other faders use an increasing MIDI CC or MIDI channel. What would have precedence when using both MIDI remote control and the MIDI mapping of AU parameters?
Your thoughts are welcome!
AUM does midi mapping super easy.
100% AUM
Aha, so a separate window. How about all the other questions?
Pretty much follow AUM’s example, can’t go too far wrong. So for example, take a synth and an effect, (I used Accordian and Dub) then duplicate the channel. Open another channel for a midi control AU, I chose Rozeta LFO.
Then each instance of the effect AU (Dub, in my case) has it’s own mappings, so I can map from the LFO to the effect per effect instance.
Midi source seems to be per effect, not per instance, so If (for example) I open a second instance of LFO and set that as the midi source on instance 2 of Dub, the midi source on instance 1 of Dub also changes.
Re: what would have precedence: like for example, if a project’s been painstakingly mapped out to perfection, then user comes along and connects USB controller? If a CC or Channel is assigned, I’d want the DAW to recognise that and assign USB controls appropriately.
If the USB controller is nicely mapped and I go ahead and load a saved project with conflicting AU mappings… argh ffs I dunno, a midi conflict pop-up message?
Jeez it’s a minefield even at the foothills
Thanks for your input! Well, that's the difference between a user thinking why can't you just add a pop-up menu to a AUv3 slider with a MIDI learn entry? How simple could it be? And then the developer having to think about all I wrote (and more).
If we do it per effect and you have a mapping to a delay mix and use the delay on several tracks (not unthinkable), then you probably won't get what you want, so I probably would go for a per instance mapping.
Ill add my full input later on today but i wanted to say that if you do add auv3 midi learn and record to timeline, please raise the midi cc resolution, right now it's too low for editing, if you can make it sample accurate like the audio editing, itll be much better
