Nice idea, but it wouldn't have helped 'Merica.

Donnie is a "very stable genius!" Just ask him!

Lol. The point is that his opinion wouldn’t have been the deciding factor.

  • On a very good note: the big blocker, M.McConnell is gone from his position which hopefully mean some good legislations, motions and/or laws may finally make it through. This is the best thing that could have happened alongside the fact the Dems won the election. Maybe this have been said earlier in the thread but, if so, it's worth repeating. Some, who think this government will fail might just choke on their popcorn. Cheers.

  • Oh I certainly agree, @TheOriginalPaulB, but how can you pass such legislation in a nation where half the population doesn't even believe in science?

The sad part is most of these same people have home-schooled their demon-spawn — effectively manufacturing yet another generation of pre-programmed intellectual morons.

As Donnie has said many times: " I love the uneducated!"

If that’s the video I saw last night of further details of the riot, it was indeed very scary and sad. Mob mentality is a scary thing.

  • I wouldn’t limit this need to the USA alone, there are many countries where a scheme such as I suggest would be a sensible precaution. As for America, now would probably be the best opportunity such an initiative would have to be approved, while the level of shock and disapproval of what has happened is at its peak.

Well, people can be manipulated anywhere, and mob mentality and desperation can as well. Often desperation and oppression/ perceived oppression are ingredients of wild movements. In this case, “Immigrants are taking your jobs,” “this skin makes someone worth less and they’re a threat to you,” “big brother is making you wear a mask in a pandemic, what’s next, you can’t have a gun?” “You’re being censored- big brother won’t let you threaten violence or death towards others online!” Etc, etc.

History has shown this over and over.

This says a lot to me about the quality of his character. I do not get any impression that this was a publicity stunt or a photo op.

Me neither. If it was a publicity stunt I can think of a lot of others in Congress who would have done it first.

  • One evaluation per person every 5 years? Compared to the amount of money spent on politics, defense, civic services, etc., not such a huge investment to prevent some maniac splitting the country or starting a nuclear war. As for avoiding corruption, that’s a separate problem, but making the evaluators state appointed and security checked might help.

Yep. That guy apparently has about 5 different names he uses. Luckily he did a few interviews where he gave some of those names and where he was from, so it probably wasn’t too hard to catch him.

They got podium boy too. I wonder what the intended to do with a congressional podium? Maybe he’s trying to get into the corporate sound world and just needed something to get started? Nah, probably not.

And whoever stole the laptop clearly did not think that through. If they find that, that particular individual is probably in for a very bad time. Even though it was said to be one used for conference room presentations, I’d imagine security on it still abounds.

Finally, what’s up with the names of these fringe groups? Proud boys, boogaloo, etc? You don’t even need to know much about them up know that they are off kilter.

If I can’t laugh at the ridiculous parts, I’ll have anxiety take over, thanks for letting me vent to cope.

I’m in NJ, where he is from, but I don’t know much about him. He is in South Jersey, which is the other end of the state from me, but I’m going to have to look up more about him.

I can dig it. Very pragmatic. Ever aspire to politics, public service or governing?

God, no. I can’t even get my wife to agree with me...

Exactly what I was thinking. Although the logistics of preserving it for DMA and fingerprints is probably too large I wager the bags of stuff are kept. I mean aparently intelligence agencies even have huge rooms full of shredded paper they are systematically scanning and reassembling. CIA guy at a bar told me that once. True enough story.

  • I don’t know the answer, but I would imagine the room would have been closed off completely if that was the case. It’s also possible I imagine wrong in this case.

  • @TheOriginalPaulB, actually a lot of it was kept for inclusion in the historical archives. Your grandkids can go see it in 2040.

Interesting thought. I would assume it’s in some ways a compromise between collecting evidence and getting the building up and working again though.

There’s definitely the intent to be violent in the air. 30 minutes ago there was the sound of people shooting more than one semi-automatic rifle in the neighborhood. It’s not likely to be crime-related, but I think the timing is more than a coincidence.

I have no clue why anyone would remain loyal to him.

Sick systems are very common. If you've ever been in a bad relationship or found yourself trapped in a work hell, some of it might ring true, anyway.

I'm not American and I try to keep out of his stuff but this story's consuming me. Trump is such a bad guy. It's almost unbelievable. I was mostly in a state of disbelief up until the family separation/children in cages thing came out, at which point the whole thing felt much darker.

I hope this impeachment takes and the racist, pipe bomb-toting crazies go to prison and everybody, everywhere starts focusing on what will help, rather than the other thing. Which doesn't help.

    I absolutely agree.

I am not an American too, but do hope all those responsible are brought to Justice, but I do believe I have the right, as does anyone, to comment on this American domestic issue, because the past history of humanity shows if tyranny in one jurisdiction isn’t properly dealt with, it gives rise to other tyrants, in other jurisdictions, to act with similar impunity.

Umm, try getting a driving licence if you’re legally blind or have epilepsy. I’m not advocating eugenics here, just people in power who are mentally well adjusted.

  • @Max23, I am enjoying our newly found agreements. 😳😉🥳🙏. Now GAB is getting 10, 000 new subscribers an hour.

I try to see the positives here. If democracy is in danger from Trumpism, it was equally in danger from apathy (including myself) with regard to the political process. These events have certainly got all Americans sitting up straight and paying attention.

That being said, we are in great danger. The cult thinks their insurrection was a great success.... and, unfortunately, I think it was. They have no reason to step back since the consequences, so far, have been minimal.

I do think the lack of resistance was beneficial to show the unpatriots for what they are. And we are now seeing just how murderous thrir intentions were. It will be much more easily digested by the country if they get their heads blown off with their next, inevitable, attempts.
