  • Can anyone vouch for IK's Sunset Studio Reverb? The counter is about to tick over again and I'm a bit stumped as to what to grab. Was looking at the Tape Emulations but I'm not sure I need them. Played with the demo of the Lurssen Mastering Console but didn't dig it and anyway my initial buy was T-Racks for the very purpose. Are there any outstanding Sampletank libraries?

  • Sorry to keep bringing this back but IK is now buy 1 get 9 free https://www.ikmultimedia.com/25gb/

The sunset reverb is awesome, don’t hesitate to get it.

Cymatics has a 48 hour flash sale, lots of packs only $3 each.
    Check what’s included before purchasing.

    https://cymatics.fm/

Some of these have been free in the past, some don’t contain that much, but Diamonds 1 & Diamonds 2 are great hip hop packs with tons of tuned kicks and snares.

And by the way, the IK Multimedia site is a real mess if you are looking for the actual page where you can choose and download your free software (after you're logged into your account there).

Here is the direct link (which you'll have to reload each time you want to choose from your list of free downloads). It's needlessly confusing otherwise.

    https://www.ikmultimedia.com/userarea/promotions/

But here's the kicker... you also have to run both their "IK Product Manager" and their "Custom Shop" software separately in order to install all upgrades and add-ons. It's a total shit show compared to using the Apple App Store.

I managed to install and update all of the software I have from them with no issues. The website has had issues today but they are aware.

When you get a product like a t-racks or amplitube device you only have to open custom shop and click restore, no need for product manager. Product manager is only needed for the main component of amplitube, t-racks, etc, as well as any sample downloads.

How would a new customer know any of this? It certainly isn't spelled out on the site. And their entire software buying and downloading process should be reviewed by some outsiders because to those unfamiliar with their setup, it is not at all transparent how things are supposed to work.

  • i think the process is a bit convoluted as well... Ive got software from Fab Filter, izotope, plugin alliance, native instruments, waves etc etc etc etc and this is by far the most annoying. oh well. its not like you have to do it all the time. set it up once and its good to go.

  • So grab the freebies first then make sure you get your complaints in… 😂

I just followed the directions on the site, they are there. It’s ok if you want to complain about IK, I’m not defending them and don’t work for them, but total shitshow is probably a little harsh for having to download 2 apps to manage products.

  • IKM Custom Shop does allow you to try Amplitube and T-racks stuff before buying (or choosing as a freebie) so that’s one positive over most items in the App Store.

IKM provides many opportunities for customer complaints, but once you get how the system works it solves some of the complaints go away.

In the end, this Group Buy will be one of the better deals of the year. Would I buy their stuff at full price? No. Will I be happy picking up a bunch of stuff at an average cost of maybe $10 each. Absolutely!

Logic Pro X is probably the best music software deal ever on any platform (assuming you want more power than GarageBand), but this Group Buy might be the next closest thing as long as it fills your needs (okay, not needs but desires).

  • Jumped in with Sampletron, paid about $135 with using gear credits to purchase and then the discount code.
Site has been bogged down and crashing like crazy today. Took me a a few tries to purchase as the page wasn’t loading correctly.

The whole processs It’s a bit of a pain, but for the price it’s all good. In the end I can always uninstall what I don’t like.

Hoping this Sampletron comes to ipad soon! Sounds real good so far.

Mind you, I generally like their software. I’ve been shielded from their site problems because I usually buy only from Apple’s App Store.

I was just playing with sampletron, it’s very cool! There’s some very interesting sounds in it and the iPad app streetlytron makes a nice companion to it. I have sampletron 1 but haven’t used it in a long time. But basically no real surprises with sampletron 2, it’s a great set of samples of the different tron and related samples.

One thing I didn’t see right away, and not sure if it does it, is the option to have samples loop or only go the original length. Even though I’m a terrible keyboardist, my brain wants the samples to have the 8 second limit so it’s more accurate.

  • Only 47 to go until the IK thing reaches 10,000 participants which opens it up for another month - giving access to even more free products.

Come on, you know you want to.

At this rate one of the canniest buys would be individual Syntronik instruments. Purchase one for $49 and get the complete $399 Syntronik Deluxe setup - and still have change for a couple of T-Racks compressors. I can’t see any reason why this group buy isn’t going to hit 25k by the end of september. Obviously the more you spend on your first purchase, the more value you’ll get but even those with smaller budgets can get something of value out of this group buy.

I guess the issue with buying individual Syntronik instruments is that you aren't able to edit in the free Syntronik player, only the full version...

Hadn’t realised that. I have Syntronik Deluxe on iOS and desktop and a lot of its value is being able to put together performance patches using multiple synth engines.

On iOS you can purchase individual synths and play them through the free Syntronik player. In fact that’s the only way you purchase it. You first download the free player and can then purchase individual synths or anything up to the complete Syntronik Deluxe package. It’s surprising to hear the desktop individual instrument purchase process isn’t the same.

If the option to purchase single synths in Syntronik on iOS exists I certainly can’t find it… though the App Store lists these IAPs…

That’s exactly what I said. You download the free Syntronik player and purchase the individual synths as IAPs

  • Hey! I'm new to the forum, sorry if this was already discussed before, but I couldn't find it.

Quick question about the Synthmaster promos at Plugin Boutique:

    • There's a bundle for 53 Euros with Synthmaster One and Synthmaster, but;
    • there's also an upgrade with the same 2 products for Synthmaster Player owners, which costs about 35 (+13 from the Player itself which I don't have)...

Buying the Synthmaster Player and then the upgrade Bundle, I save a few Euros and get one product more.

Am I missing something here, or is really like that?

Any disadvantage on purchasing the products separately in terms of getting fewer presets or anything like that?

No I didn’t repeat you, in iOS Syntronik on the Store page only the standard and deluxe IAPs are listed, plus subscription in the CS version. No single synths - under Synths Manager each has a Go To Store link which shows only the ISPs as above… I guess IK withdrew the single synth purchases but have to keep them existing invisibly (except in the App Store description) for past customers.

Typical of IKM to forget to remove the single synth IAP listings on the App Store but then not make them available in the app you download.

Because I already had Syntronik Deluxe on the desktop I already knew what I was buying and purchased Syntronik Deluxe outright so was unaware that IKM didn’t offer the single synths even though they list them as IAP purchases on the App Store listing.

Another clear example of why I have a love/hate relationship with IKM! :)

The Future Classic collection is particuarly good. Not a dud in the collection. I use the Mod Pack FX on just about everything, thte chorus, phaser and flanger are some of the best you can get in plugin form. Perfect for that classic string synth sound. And the synths in the collection are a no brainer too, although they’re very processer hungry so be sure to have a juicy workstation to get the most out of them.
