ohhhh @gusgranite im REALLY into mellotron and warbly sounds, that sounds great.
Also, am i correct in thinking that sampletank comes with built in mixbox?? can you use it as an FX unit, or do you need mixbox on its own?
MixBox is a separate plugin but many of the MixBox FX are also included in Sampletank, T-Racks, etc. The difference with MixBox is you can then add the FX to any VST instrument and there’s more of them etc.
@shinyisshiny
@gusgranite I’ll counter your Sampletron 2 with the original and still the best GForce M-Tron Pro (Complete - includes all the ace expansion libraries).
Joking aside Sampletron 2 is worth getting as part of the IK group buy, but the GForce team approach everything they do as a labour of love, and if you’re into that Mellotron sound, there’s nothing as complete and glorious as M-Tron Pro.

Right! Have read good things about this team. Good to know.
@jonmoore the ability to add the tron FX to your own loops and layer them in is pretty cool though.
just got the sampletank free to try out, and am not liking the interface at all...😫is syntronik something thats within sampletank, or is it its own standalone plugin?
Syntronik has its own plugin interface
But you can also put the sounds from Syntronik into sample tank if you like
Both. I don’t use either one, but I read that in a discussion. I have logic and so many synths, so sampletank and syntronik aren’t on my radar in the group buy, unless I run out of other things…. But I did get sampletron 2. I’m mainly focusing on amplitube, t-racks, and mixbox (which I got already as it’s a one shot deal).
It’s a standalone plugin. Most of the 44 synths it samples features a faceplate based on the original instrument.
And you can layer these individual synths into performance patches. The thing that takes Syntronik beyond a rompler is that IK modelled the filters individually (and did a decent job) of all the classics and you can mix and match. e.g. Take a Jupiter 8 patch and put it through Moog filters. The envelope sections are especially useful with the filter emulations.
I wonder if they’ll fudge the counter to get it to 10000 )
It’s picking up a lot of traction now. If we can keep that till the end they won’t have to because it will be barely enough
Woot! Level up! 8 free (I'm up to 16)!
nice. im going to get in today as well.
Wow. That makes MixBox, the B3, Sampletron etc all $15 each for me so far. Amazing deal. I want to try the Comprexxor distressor next.
The Sunset Studios reverb is really nice by the way.
Ok.. will have a look…😊

Good lord. IK Multimedia's buying experience through their own web site is a real mess. I've tried to buy MixBox for desktop on two different browsers, at least 10 times now. Still no success. THIS terrible buying experience is exactly why Apple's App Store is so much better for the customer. Buying their iOS apps is the only reason I've had a good impression of them so far. No matter what I do, I can't get their desktop software.
UPDATE: OK, the only method that ended up working for me was to use a Chrome browser on iOS. For whatever reason, Safari on both iOS and desktop will not work, and Chrome on the desktop won't work. That was a bad user experience.
I have to click on the actual price of the product or nothing happens. You can’t click the product icon or it doesn’t put it in your cart, just reloads the page. I haven’t really had any issues besides that on my Mac with Safari.
Also hot tip “GROOVE3IKM” code at checkout and use Gear Points… makes it even cheaper
For real. Terribile
I’m staying strong on my “IK Multimedia will never get a dime from me” policy. Not gonna lie, it’s been a little tougher this time around but seeing the bs about paying a fee for accessing products you already purchased and also their horrible website experience has reinvigorated my resolve! Thanks for the complaining! 🤣
I tried to avoid doing negative IK discussion here but I will say I did their group buy years ago when they released the Bus Compressor and the Neve 33609 Compressor. I got so many IK plugins but I pretty much use none of them. When I got a new Mac I didn’t even install them for over 2 years but recently installed to have that comp on hand. Annoying that you have to install all of their plugs and then go thru hassle of removing the ones you don’t own. UAD is similar but at least I can hide them in the UA app and oh their plugins are sick

Yes I agree some of the software is ok but I hate IK’s business model, clunky downloads and installs and paying to access products you own.
I’ll also give this one a miss and hope IK change in the future.
I realise that people here have more history with IK products than I do however I have to say that my experience so far has been great (thanks to this promo of course!). No issues purchasing or downloading, only some confusion around what was included in the Amplitube 5 version. Also agreed that the payment to re-download purchased sample libraries is ridiculous. I'm really loving some of the software and am already making work with it. Really happy to finally have T-Racks for my mastering needs and also have MixBox on desktop, however I am really digging the extras I've picked up, particularly Modo Drums and Modo Bass. Sampletron is sounding delicious as well. Looking forward to playing with Miroslav and am about to nab Syntronik now the counter clocked over to another freebie. Cool!
This is true - there’s nothing out there that can touch M-Tron Pro as far as mellotron emulations go.
Wow, In just inserted b3x into a song I’ll be mixing in place of the Logic organ- it is excellent. Luckily the part was played by a great keyboardist so I get to hear something played well, rather than my terrible keyboard hacking.
Highly recommended. And just for fun, I threw the t-racks Leslie on a Steinway grand (from the same song and it’s a real Steinway, not samples)- very cool! It won’t be staying there but now I know what to do when I want a really fun sound.
Nice!
I have been thinking that some Riffler midi exports will sound great with the B3.
I don’t know, I had now troubles at all installing 200+ GB of software. And the download limit is strange, but they are rather transparent about it.
Also they have a very easy activation process and no iLok or the likes. So I fail to see what the issue is there.
IK’s model can be a pain, but I wouldn’t say a dealbreaker, for me anyway.
If I can interrupt the IK discussion, Tracktion have got a 40% sale on - I'd recommend looking at Spacecraft and Abyss, though f.'em is also pretty powerful...https://www.tracktion.com
Never mind. I wasn’t logged in.
