I can’t recommend this highly enough.
XO is pretty nice. But i feel that Atlas 2 is a better value for what you get for the price. It offers 8, 16 and up to 64 Pads of samples in the Kits it creates.
If you’re willing to part with a Benjamin give Atlas 2 a look:
https://algonaut.audio/
It also drops to $50 in a sale.
Which is what I'm waiting for. I was holding out for a sale for a while, esp now that XO came out with one, but perhaps it'll be Black Friday. Or not. 🤷 I like Atlas 2, I find it expensive for my needs, but I'm sure it's a good deal for many at full price as well.
Buy 1 get seven free now on IK Multimedia sale.
IK Group Buy is now buy 1 get 7 free. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/25gb/
Do I go for the Hammond B3 or the new Distressor compressor?
Decisions, decisions! I think I’m aiming for Sampletron 2. I’d like another 3 or so freebies to round things off. Wonder if they’ll extend it?
1 for 7 Wow😳 maybe it’s time for MixBox on the desktop hrmmmm 🤔💕💕
My thoughts exactly!
UVI KROMA $19.00

They also announced that if it gets to 10 free (10,000 participants - including people who participate multiple times counting multiple times) by the end of August they will extend it through September:

It's a lot of..... money
The weirdest thing... I tried to buy MixBox for desktop 6 different times and every time I hit the "Buy" button nothing happens on their web site. Literally nothing.
If that gets near 10k I‘ll go in a second time on a lower tier so I can get basically anything lol.
Any Amplitude fans? It seems to get widely mixed reviews. I have a couple of Nembrini plug-ins that I really like and I’m not impressed with the free Amplitude offerings. I’m also not all that into sounding like other guitarists. Do you think investing in more Amplitude would be worth it? I have several additions on the bottom of my list, but it is a better bang for your freebie buck than say SaturatorX which is high on the list.
I've always liked Amplitube, because I can always find something I like. There has always been a mixed bag of amps, so I can also find something harsh sounding that I don't like. Watching some comparison Youtube videos comparing Amp 4 to Amp 5 has convinced me to get Amp 5. It seems to make a lot of the older stuff sound way better to my ears. I haven't ever found much that I like in the free stuff. One my favorite things about it, is that you can use custom shop to demo anything for a few days. Everybody's setup is different, and everybody's ears are different, so reviews often don't help. You do need Amp 5 or Amp 5 SE to hear the latest improvements. I've found most of my favorite stuff is in the extra collections, making the group buy the best opportunity to stock up on some new ones.
I wonder if we'll get there?
Try a different browser. If that doesn't work try a different device. Every browser is slightly different. Devs tend to target the most common options e.g. IE and Chrome.
You have to click on the price. It is strange.
I haven’t had a chance to try the Hammond yet but the distressor is awesome. The next project I’m mixing has some hammond and we used the organ in logic, so I’ll switch out the Ik hammond for it to compare.
Currently we would land at around 9.000 so it’s possible but the sales have to pick up significantly for it to work. So a good target by them, reachable but only with a stretch.
I have been smugly auditioning the growing number of Syntronik synths (7 so far) I will get for free when I buy one of them for 60 EUR using my Mickey Mouse approach to this promo - and then i discovered an obvious fault in my brilliant strategy. For 50 EUR, I can simply upgrade to Syntronik Deluxe on the ipad and get all 22 synths with it. 🤣
And since I can't seem to convince myself I need their expensive stuff, this may end up being the greatest ever offer I can't find a way to buy into... 😬
OK...here's goes nothing. getting MixBox for the desktop...so I presume this means I get 7 other products of equal or lesser value with this purchase So exciting....who doesn't love FREE STUFF that is quality stuff
im on the fence still with the group buy. i already have waves, fab filter bundle, plugin alliance subscription... do i really need mixbox for desktop... hmmmm. I do like it on iOS, but also im not sure if i would ever use any of the freebies. even if they are worth 1,500$ i just dont know... im going to think on it some more today.. maybe if it reaches 8 ill hop in
Yeah it looks like it might be close to reach 10, might be down to the wire. Watching this like a a playoff game haha.
I haven’t jumped in yet, but will do in the next day or two.
If you really want to get a lot of stuff, you could buy into the $199 tier once and then buy a smaller $99 item. Twice the freebies and pretty much covered to get anything available.
how's sampletank? syntronik? any feedback on these? I have kontakt already with a plethora of libraries, also have the arturia analog collection. do these compare?
Weeeeeeee.
Avoid Sampletank like the plague, run lovingly head first into a deep affair with Syntronik (plus all the extra gubbins). It’s so much more than a rompler sampling a bunch of vintage synths. It has more in common with UVI’s Vintage Vault 3 (which is also fantastic, especially when used via Falcon). It’s effectively a virtual analog on top of a huge library of samples, and when you start layering, you’re really cooking.
@jonmoore great, thanks for the info!
I’m going to give a counter response 🙂
If, like me, you have not invested in big sample libraries on the desktop and you are not looking to create Zimmeresque orchestral pieces, then buying into Sampletank 4 with this group buy is just a killer deal. It really broadens the sounds I have access to and I don’t care about the finest strings or anything so it really fits for me. And Sampletron 2 with the extra Optigon and being able to layer in your own loops and give them the Mellotron vibe. So cool.
