  • A few here guessed right!

And apropos of nothing, that Subharmonicon is such a gorgeous piece of hardware.

  • Wow, model 15 sounds amazing, ive really overlooked it for so long!

  • Any one know if the purchase of model 15 is universal to both iOS and Mac OS? My old machine won’t install it, but I’m likely to get something new this year that will but I can’t tell if I’ve successfully added it to my account or not...

  • It works on Intel Mac's too ;)

@Samu : yes, but your Mac has to be able to run MacOS 11 or above. My 2012 MBP maxes out at Catalina, 10 point something. So no Model 15 on MBP for me. I’ll run the MacBook into the ground, but I can see a Mac Mini in my future at some point.

  • Great...just downloaded Model 15.
How to turn ribbon switch ON?
Tried moving, and double clicking, clicking...?....nothing....
    Thanks...

  • @IOSSOS : I could be wrong, but it seemed to me that the bit that did all the noise (technical term) was the tiny left/right slider to the left of the big graphic ribbon. Sliding around on the ribbon itself did nada.

  • Okay..l thought that too...but why the ON OFF vertical switch?

  • I never noticed that button control before, @IOSSOS!

That's from 2016 ... the only free IAP I found last night was the "Base pack" which is literally, "base" i.e. sounds of burping etc :D

Have you ever considered patching your MB to go further ?
I have successfully patched my "late 2008 MB Pro unibody" to Mac OS Catalina and it is more than just okay because now my MB can install the latest applications.

@Paulo164 : not sure what you mean. My mid 2012 MBP is updated to Catalina, the most recent version of the OS it is capable of running. Apple won’t let it go any further. The Moog app requires Big Sur, OS 11. The oldest MBPs that can run Big Sur, are MacBook Pro models from 2013 or later. Source:

Trust me: I’ve tried it. No dice. I am six months outside the window.

  • Yeah, pretty sure that the Model 15 is universal so you get it free on Mac if you have bought it on ipad

    Here's how Model D currently looks on a 2021 M1 ipad in standalone :(

    (AUv3 mode seems fine)

    Official comment by Moog now:

In honor of Bob Moog’s birthday this Sunday, all Moog iOS apps are currently free to download and explore

Not a mistake, lasts till Sunday. Get it while it's hot.

I still can't get my head around this one. It's one amazing piece of PR. Besides, I was already bracing for the cost of the bundle once the betas expired, I just gave Moog time until the last minute to do their magic. And they did... 🙏

    Is there a problem? ;)

Makes me feel kinda happy I'm not an 'early adopter' when it comes to hardware running iPadOS...

I've just been playing around with Model D again and man it sounds sooo good for bass sounds imo. However, (like everything it seems on iOS) it comes with a hitch and that is there seems to be latency in the sound coming from the Model D compared to other instruments when buffer sizes are high. Basically, on my iPad Pro I still need 1024 samples in AUM as a buffer size by the time I chuck in enough things for a session. However, the Model D sounds out of time at 1024 but fine at 256. Wondering if anyone else has this issue?

Adjust until it works for you. I have a feeling there might be no more updates for these apps.

the universal for macOS version of Model 15 has been getting updates recently and works beautifully within Logic. Scales perfectly too. It's baffling they'd be giving these away. Very odd.

That’s why I think they’re planning on introducing something new and completely different from these apps. Since they just made improvements recently dealing with problems introduced by the latest iOS update, this giveaway makes no sense unless they are basically done with the older apps.

They actually did an excellent job with the macOS universal port. Have you tried it? I was surprised when it just popped up for free (included with my original iOS purchase) and then tried it in Logic. I thought it'd be a GUI nightmare, but it is actually done beautifully with regard to it's scaling, etc.

    I'm guessing you're right though.

  • @soundtemple said:
@sevenape Ah I've had it for ages. Bit late for that.
@skiphunt The model D doesnt scale at all.... at all

I don't think Model D has been ported to macOS like Model 15 has. Sure, you can install the iOS version of Model D... but what they did with Model 15 is create a macOS version that's included with your iPad and iPhone versions.

Ah cool, I was just in the midst of harassing an old mate with a sparky new Mac to log into my account and get it in the purchased list, maybe it’s already there, if not I’ll just have to buy it when I get the right gear, ta 🙏

  • Downloaded from Patchbay. Who is RUN_CELL? He sure did a lot of patches!

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.

If you have Model 15, either previously purchased or just got it for free... and if you're on a Mac... go to the appstore on your Mac and find the Model 15 app. Not the iOS versions that show up, but the actual macOS version that's there. It's included.

If you luckily got it for free.. you not only got a beautiful universal iOS app... but you also just scored a magnificently scalable port to Mac desktop. Works great in Logic too!

  • Yes thanks for the heads up. It confirms what I already thought - it sounds fantastic, but I’ll probably be clueless about programming and tweaking. I haven’t even tried to look for Cutoff and Rez knobs yet 😀. I’m guessing that they are giving it away to boost sales of the IAP packs, which is fine with me as I’ve bought a few already - this thing truly sounds stellar. Like many of you I didn’t know what I was missing.

I'm using Big Sur on mini M1 16GB, so I don't know if it's available on other macOS versions.

It scales down small nicely, full screen, and anything in between. Sounds spectacular too.

  • I’m new to these - I’ve seen reference to them being AUv3 but they only show up in hosts as IAA. What’s the story?
