    Here's how Model D currently looks on a 2021 M1 ipad in standalone :(

    (AUv3 mode seems fine)

We're working on this now. We haven't received our 2021 M1 iPad yet but we think we know why this is happening.

We'll have a beta to test soon.

I’m new to these - I’ve seen reference to them being AUv3 but they only show up in hosts as IAA. What’s the story?

Animoog and Filtatron aren't AUv3. Model D and Model 15 are. If you're not seeing those two, try opening the standalone app once first. Sometimes that's necessary with some apps. Reboot your device if that doesn't help.

  • @FRibeiro Thanks again for setting up the patches.

Could you upload the Model-D patches to the new ‚Moog Model-D‘ section on PatchStorage (as there isn‘t much there yet) ?

@Paulo164 : not sure what you mean. My mid 2012 MBP is updated to Catalina, the most recent version of the OS it is capable of running. Apple won’t let it go any further. The Moog app requires Big Sur, OS 11. The oldest MBPs that can run Big Sur, are MacBook Pro models from 2013 or later. Source:

Trust me: I’ve tried it. No dice. I am six months outside the window.

Yes, I mean you can « patch » your old 2012 MB to have Big Sur running on it :

    https://github.com/BenSova/Patched-Sur/

    It’s safe.

    You folks are the best.

  • @MoogMusicInc

I’m going to have a lot of fun courtesy of your generous gift.

    Thank you.

I was looking at this earlier, think my 2009 pro is on the edge of risky from what they say there, might try it one day if I’ve really got nothing on and feel dangerous enough to risk it/need to because something vital like after effects won’t work anymore...

  • Messing with Model 15 and appreciating the richness of the sound. Just have to freeze a track before moving on to the next. Totally worth the extra effort. Thanks @MoogMusicInc.!

Thank you so much for this offer, you guys are amazing. Just on the M1 issue, the Model 15 is showing up blank in Logic on a MacBook Air M1 so may be a similar issue.

    Thanks again!

That sounds like an installation problem, the MacBook Air M1 is fully supported and tested. Did you install the Mac version from the Mac App Store?

Maybe try to delete, reinstall, launch the standalone version and then only use the plug-in.

Thanks so much for that. Opening the standalone and then opening the plugin worked. Didn't need to re-install. Just must have needed to initialise I guess. Legends!

  • @MoogMusicInc ... whilst you’re attending to this thread I have another issue/question.
I think the Model D is the best sounding synth on iOS for bass by far. However, it seems to me that at a buffer size of 1024 samples in AUM:
    1. timing of notes coming from the synth is inconsistent and
    2. the pitch is different to the pitch when set to 256 samples.

I need higher buffer sizes on my iPad Pro to run a few quality instruments like these. Why do I get timing issues and pitch changes?

In this crude video example you can clearly here the pitch change when the buffer size changes.

  • Wow. Model 15 sounds amazing.

  • If you have an iPad without the button - how do you sweep out of Model 15 without playing a note at the bottom?

  • @Paulo164 : Hmmm. Interesting. Didn’t know such a thing existed. Something I might resort to if Ableton dies on me or something, but to be honest, it still looks a little too rocket science-y for me to get involved with right now. I already spend too long tearing my hair out trying to get things to work together with my legit Catalina based installs to want to dive into something like this. To be honest, I’m more likely to buy a Mac Mini if it comes to it than try this. But thanks for letting me know the option exists.

    😂 that's a problem in many apps !

AssistiveTouch adds a little software home button. The only problem then is finding a place for it on the screen where it is least likely to get in the way!

  • Dang. Looks like the desktop version of Model 15 is also free at the moment but it requires Big Sur/MacOS 11 to even download it. I'm stuck on Catalina for a while. Heads up though for others with current Mac OSes!

(sorry if this was already mentioned. didn't read all 5 pages)

Yes, your MB is not too old and Catalina is perfectly okay not to dive in the patching process. In my case, my old 2008 MB had become useless and was sleeping on a shelf for many years. So the decision to revive it was really easy as I had nothing to loose.

  • But really, it takes only 2 hours for the whole process. So keep this in mind for the future, maybe in 2 or 3 years.

  • I’m having the rendering issues with the Moog apps as well on the 2021 iPad Pro

  • Thank you @MoogMusicInc Happy Birthday!

  • Having acquired all the Moog apps since long, I’m happy for all that can now get them for free. Even having paid full price for all still counts for only cents or less per minutes of pure fun and amazement. Sure hoping for even just one more Moog app at the same level of quality to be put out. Best wishes mister Moog, and your team.

  • @zah, I bought $10 inapps. Sure many others have, too. Wouldn’t have gotten these if not free.

As mentioned before, we have no 2021 M1 iPad to test with and our apps don't run in the simulator, which makes adopting new devices tricky. We have two TestFlight versions ready that we think might fix the rendering issues on the M1 iPads. We'd appreciate your feedback.

  • @MoogMusicInc is the Model D going to get the beautiful macOS treatment that the Model 15 got?

And, if you buy the IAPs for the iOS versions... do those work in the macOS versions too?

We can't comment on unreleased products, sorry.

Yes your IAPs should transfer between iOS and macOS.

  • Dear @MoogMusicInc, is there any chance at all of Animoog becoming AUv3? I love it dearly and will never stop using it as IAA but as an AU… my god

  • Favorite M15 iap: Psychotropic synthesis
Favorite Animoog iap: I haven’t found one yet that beats the factory patches, but I don’t have them all.
