One of my favourite developers. Free for existing owners.

That’s very hard to answer definitively but if you want quality you may prefer to get different plugins. For example, Softube Model 72 for a Minimoog is pretty damn fantastic (also The Legend and Monark) and for other classic sounds you might look at GForce OB-E (wow!).

On the other hand, I have them and I also have V Collection which I use more for the SQ-80, the Mellotron (you can load your own sounds in it), the Emulator, etc. The Jupiter is now pretty good, too. Depends what sounds you want to be using.

Back on quality, any of the U-He synths are just awesome but are not all recreations of anything. Diva and Repro 1 and 5 are but Zebra is very special if that’s your thing. And Hive, too.

More ‘modern’ things to spend your money on might be Pigments, Falcon, PhasePlant.

You may end up owning everything anyway so perhaps it’s more about where to start. Nothing wrong with that place being the V Collection - it’s just that there are better (as in, closer to the original) individual offerings IMO from other plugin developers.

    This ^.

Not a dud mentioned in that bunch, and the rationale is spot on too. My other picks from the Arturia collection are the Buchla Easel, Juno, OB-Xa and Matrix 12 (the Oberheim's aren't as special as the Gforce OB-E (but the OB-E is probably the best plugin analog emulation full-stop, so to compare is deeply unfair), but they're otherwise very decent OB emulations.

  • Includes Cherry audio polymode, voltage modular ignite and stardust tape delay… not too bad a bundle :-)

Yea I’d say the Cherry Audio stuff alone is worth the money.

It was enough to convince me. Not sure I'll actually DL the samples to be honest but I might do.

  • Voltage modular ignite can also be upgraded to core + electro drums for half price at pluginboutique.

If I didn’t already have polymode and voltage modulate ignite I’d buy this — but the samples? I wouldn’t even bother downloading them myself.

I mean yea I have a lot of them now, but their stuff is quite solid to be honest. Now since I use Cosmos a lot to find samples I found it quite interesting on what stuff I land on.

Puremagnetik spectral suite this week $12 (usually $80)

Puremagnetik stuff is incredible. Micah does sales all the time - I've picked up so many things from him for next to nothing (and often actually nothing)

Last night I was recording a piece with my Spanish guitar but it got too late to make noise and I didn’t finish. So I quickly recorded 2 pretty chords to try these plugins on. They are great, I didn’t even get through the first one I tried (the cloud one) because I got so many weird but useable, musical variations. Was able to bust out a quick ambient track. Threw some Borsta behind it and it was a great piece in itself. There are other ways to do this kind of processing but this was $12 well spent.

Is Borsta the Klev brush one? I don't have any of their percussion plugins aside from Rassel but I feel as though I should invest as that one is perfect (save for not being recordable outside of screen record)

Yes. It’s really a great plug-in/app. I highly recommend for brushes grooves. I started doing a spectral blur on it in my track last night and it was cool but had to go to sleep. Definitely good to mangle but also rad for organic brushing.

  • I straight up copy and pasted from a KVR post but I downloaded it. It works, it's cool, the AU crashed my Ableton 10 on Mac 10.14.6 but I'm sure it will get ironed out. I think this just got released. I would grab it while it's free.

    the post:

_"Disarray" from Stagecraft Software is brand new and FREE for "a couple of weeks" (as of March 27). It's a multi-effects plugin that emulates the control of the old Korg KAOSS pads with a big X/Y controller that works both up/down and radially, and lets you control up to 8 parameters on 4 effects at once. Numerous built-in effects (including some pretty complex ones, like Glitch Machine) and can host third-party plugins as well.

Even if the X/Y stuff doesn't send you, you should grab it while it's free - I'm guessing this will be fairly expensive when it's at normal price, since it includes a dozen of Stagecraft's other effects which regularly run $30-$60 apiece. You can kind of ignore the modulation stuff and just use this as a shell with a bunch of useful effects in it.

I downloaded this and had a play, and it's pretty cool. Fair warning - it caused several crashes, and third-party plugin control doesn't seem to work (this was in Studio One 5 on Windows, for what it's worth). It could also definitely stand to include a manual. But it's a new 1.0 so hopefully it'll get better - and if you register it now you'll get the updates free too!

Note: It's a free download, but you do need to install it and launch it in your DAW to get it registered. The first time you start it, it'll prompt you for an email address and then there's a button to click that says "Free License"._
