Good to know @gregsmith
Yes it does.
Thank you.
Sitala Importer just got released
Sweet!
You can also use Kit Creator to make Sitala kits: https://hgsounds.com/product/kit-creator-for-mac-and-windows/. And you can also Kit Maker -- https://www.kit-maker.com/ to convert your Maschine samples to ADG, and then use SitalaConverter for those kits.
You guys were too fast for us. We were still updating our web page. :-)
Yeah, we decided to release 1.0 of the converter from Ableton Kits at the same time as our latest iOS update. The iOS update has:
Updated version in the App Store.
It's mostly a release filling in some of the gaps of previous releases. We've only a couple weeks away from dropping the following release, which will include some interesting new features (specifically for making finger drumming more interesting).
And yeah, we've deemed the converter ready for prime time (hopefully!). Let us know if you guys run into any issues with it. Sadly the stock Ableton kits use encrypted samples (which our converter detects and reports), but we've tested it on a handful of third-part kits and things seem peachy. It's still slightly rough around the edges, and not the most beautiful interface ever created, but it seems to get the job done. We'll figure out how much to time to spend on refining it based on how much interest there seems to be.
There's more here.
Thank you for the update and the importer! Any chance to get other cloud storage providers supported besides iCloud? I’m using pCloud but I guess I may be a very minor minority
Unfortunately that's an iOS limitation -- we're not able to see into the files from other providers.
Bummer. Luckily, kits can be picked from pCloud via the open kit menu though. Love that we can pick the vendor name for our kits, that’s a nice touch!
Heh. Actually that was created with the hope that sample pack vendors will convert there already existing Ableton kits to Sitala kits, and we wanted to make it easy for them. But yeah, doing mass conversion or your own downloaded kits also makes sense. :-)
@scotchi would it be possible to add a button to randomly select a sample inside a folder, just to have a different starting point.
Also Swiping is too slow for me when I’m browsing could you add a next sample button too 😅
kits from older live versions work perfectly. couldn't process any recent kits @scotchi
These 3 features are the ones I’ve been waiting for! Thanks!
So glad I bought this app.
Which version worked for you? I have Live 10 or 9 installed on old machines. Might be worth pulling them up to get some kits out.
they'r all Live10 @auxmux
Thanks, will given that a go.
could you also try with Live11 kits @auxmux
-not sure if the kits Ive tried are from release/beta v-
Yeah, I tried with Live 11, didn't work.
Yeah, confirmed. Ironically, I'd tried with the factory kits (which works, except the samples are encrypted, so they can't be used), and a bunch of third party kits, and some exported from other tools, but hadn't tried creating a kit directly in Live.
Doesn't look like it'll be rocket surgery to fix though, so I'll probably have a fix out still tonight.
Got the bug fixed. I'll upload new packages hopefully later today. (Just did the macOS build; still need to do the Windows one.)
thanks @scotchi keeping an eye on github 👩🏿💻
@scotchi happy with the new update 😊!
Is a desktop update imminent (with 4x4 layout)?
"Emmanent" would be an overstatement, but yes, it will be part of our next desktop release, which we're tentatively planning to have out before the end of the year.
And here's the fixed version that works with newer versions of Live:
https://github.com/decomposer/SitalaConverter/releases/tag/1.0.1
@scotchi thanks for the fix! works with Live11 kits -also beta kits-
Have you gotten this to work? Whenever I try to convert kitmaker created ableton .adg presets I get an instant crash with SitalaImporter 1.01
Would you mind sharing the shortcut?. I’ve fiddled with Shorcuts but it’d be great to see a working script.
Of course.
Sorry forgot to mention you need the paid version of toolbox pro if you want tagging:
https://toolboxpro.app/
This should be the link to the shortcut itself:
https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/23e42357f8bc4e41b9c38030ce5cb329
Could you attach / link a file that's not working? Also an interesting data point would be if the kit works if you first open it and re-save it in Ableton, and then try SitalaImporter.
I'm guessing that there's some difference between the info / format that KitMaker saves things in in .adg format, and the way Live itself does things, and we're making some assumption based on the way Live does things.
Thanks!. Looks interesting.
Is Toolboxpro worth it?. I can see the use for tagging. Do you know if you can do regex renaming and stuff like that?. I usually do scripts like that on desktop but it’d be handy to use the iPad.
