This update is great, except I keep running into problems.
I can’t load files using the browser “import” and I can’t use the ZB file browser lo load audio files into clips. I can from the “import” on the clip itself.
This together with all the previous problems leads to believe that it’s a bug with the menu system. Pretty big one and I’m sure it’s hard to pinpoint, maybe because of all the platforms that Zenbeats supports.
On another matter. The new way of assigning an audio track to the drum sampler and of bouncing a midi file by dragging it an audio file is stellar. BUT I wish you could do the same from audio to audio tracks, so you can bounce fx and so on… all the hard work is done, must be a matter of 8mplementing this other use case which would be very handy.
Cheers
Hey Everyone
I took a couple of days off last week and I now have got lots of reading to catch up on :-) . A quick update though for those that have reported missing User library, preset filtering and excessive startup time issues on ios:
A 3.0.3 patch is in test now that addresses the above mentioned, and a few more things as well. I'll post the full change log once it is rolling out and will be posting more replies to the other items in this thread soon too.
Thank you all for the support and patience!
It’s a win-win. This forum has many VERY knowledgeable people willing to help, just wanting the best product possible. Just making music for fun, I have got so much knowledge from this forum during the years from these people when it comes to music production on iOS. I am forever grateful to the AB community❤️, and try to chime in myself when I can with smaller things. I am just happy Roland aka you and your team found this online gem and uses it.
Thank you for reading, using the information and the suggestions in the development and keeping us all posted!

@MatthewAtZenbeats thanks, and all you people doing hard work to describe problems! ❤️👍
@MatthewAtZenbeats importing user samples into zr1 is broken here. iPad Air 2 and iPhone 13. Both with latest Zenbeats installed
Sorry about that, yes that was an unfortunate bug of 3.0.2. The good news is 3.0.3 (which is waiting for review, now) will fix this issue and dramatically increase the app launch time. For reference, my iPad Mini (Gen5) takes 55 seconds to load if I have all available add-on packs installed in 3.0.2.... In 3.0.3 it launches in about 10 seconds. Will post here once it's live with a full change log.
Awesome! 😎👍🏼
3.0.3 it is then!
😀

Haha, we won't be stopping here, but 3.0.3 is now live
Bad image copy... see below
New Icon! Can't wait
I do see greatly improved startup time, less than 7 seconds on my M1 iPad Pro. It does struggle when my Focusrite interface is connected, taking over 42 seconds to start up.
Startup is A LOT faster.
I can load plugins, instruments and can see and load user audio files. So far looks great.
Startup with all store items loaded except Jam Packs - 15.5 seconds vs nearly 2 minutes previously.
I’ll take it! 😎👍🏼
So far so good elsewhere. Still reboots or loses audio sometimes when returning from background.
Interesting. Will investigate. Thanks!
Hi,
Just wanted to confirm that ZBv3.03 fixes the slow start time I was having - It’s now back to around 7secs, which is how it was with v2. So thanks to all the Roland & Zenbeats team who worked on this! 👍🎸💕🎹🚀🎧💫
Thanks! Status message on the screen stops at "Loading Drum Sounds" but during this period I can see the lights on my interface blinking continuously as it initializes over and over (probing sample rates?)
Exactly the same here, before and after. Major buzz kill eradicated. Thanks @MatthewAtZenbeats
What issue are you seeing with importing mono files? I'm able to do soon my ipad. The Force Mono is working as well, but note that it is only audible. It wont change view of the audio file itself. I'd like to have a feature to collapse stereo audio into mono clips in the audio editor at some point.
Maybe, what sample rate is the device normally set to? When I plug in my Roland Rubix 2x4 I see the same behavior where it pauses on loading drum sounds but it only adds a only a second or 2 to the startup time.
@MatthewAtZenbeats I’m still getting freezing with loading SynthMaster 2 and trying to use its presets
Hi!
Still catching up on posts here and I missed this one. Adding it our list. Exactly how are you changing presets when the freeze occurs. Is it by using the internal plugin preset controls or the Zenbeats Preset browser?
This is happening with the Zenbeats preset browser. Synthmaster One seems to have the same issue as well.
Also is there a way to modify a track of the ZR1 for arrangement of the single elements of it in the Timeline view...say I want to drop out the hi hats or snare at a certain part of the arrangement. I'd prefer to not use the step sequencer for that and instead edit arrangement via the group folder the ZR1 instrument creates. But it seems to only let me edit them in an all or nothing way.
And finally, is there a better/more efficient way to get my loop builder arrangements to the timeline than copying and pasting elements 1 by 1? Thanks!
What ios version on you? I've been trying to reproduce with Synthmaster One and can not currently
Not currently as all of the drum sounds are controlled by the singular MIDI pattern. I like the feature request though. If you could control mutes or solo's that way would be pretty cool!
Yes, its a feature called "record to timeline" Here's how to do it
I'll try a few scenarios later. As a quick test I fired up AUM, set the bit rate to 48kHz and left it running (to lock the bit rate I think?) before starting up ZB and it didn't seem to have an impact on the startup time. I'll experiment with different bit rate settings in ZB.
Yeah it shouldn't really. What I would recommend is to maybe launch Zenbeats, then plug in the interface. Not sure how other apps will handle that but we typically just switch right over to it.
SynthMaster 2 is the plugin I’m really having issues with in ZenBeats. Across 2 iPads @ 15.4.1 & 14.4.2 versions of iOS. It’s crashing it every time I use the ZB preset system with it.
It’d be great to be able to arrange with it! It’s already got so much potential I think being able to ‘explode’ them to be truly independent with respect to arrangement etc would be great. Really do the drums stay identical throughout an entire song in my experience. Drop outs here and there etc is the norm for me.
Thanks I’ll try it out!
Yeah no difference with different bit rate settings, including within ZB. Plugging in the interface after starting the app works, but it locks up while initiating the interface, for about as long as the delay in startup. So, I guess that’s a lead: Zenbeats takes a long time (>30 seconds) to initiate a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 gen. 1 interface. Can’t speak to any other brand interface, or anything else Focusrite makes. For my part it’s not a dealbreaker, just a minor inconvenience. BTW it also locks up several seconds when setting or unsetting the “force 44k” option with the Focusrite plugged in. Hey @MatthewAtZenbeats, thanks for hanging out and hearing our feedback!
Will keep trying to figure it out, but both of my test devices on 15.5 can't repro the issue. Any reason you're staying on 15.4 and 14.4.2?
