    big BUG:

It just updated and I still dont have sound in AUM for this...:(
nothing out as auv3 (neither fx or instr)
    Works ok as standalone.
    ( iOS 17, Air 3 )

    BUT
It works just fine on iOS 18.

    I emailed Lois about this!

Actually running into this problem, as well, no sound when hosted in AUM .. even on iPadOS 18.6.2. No issues in standalone

  • Just trying this out and I’m impressed so far.

    One thing I’m struggling with:
Anyone else finding the sidechain input isn’t switchable? I have pads routed to buses and the compressor enabled on one of those, but I can’t select or change input from ‘auto’ to the bus I want. That seems to be all the manual suggests you need, but there’s no drop-down bus selection.

As an aside, my main observation so far is that Dawnbeat and Koala are good examples of the difference between UX and UI, for anyone who might be unsure.

Koala has a slicker UX: fewer steps to get from A to B, functions more logically grouped and within easy reach (eg. editing functions). Less interaction/navigation or ‘thinking’ required.

Dawnbeat has (to my taste) a really lovely, slightly sci-fi UI design, and the skins and configuration options are awesome! In truth, its looks are the main reason I wanted to try it, even though I have Koala.

Koala isn’t ugly at all, and it has that background image option to customise it to a degree, but I don’t use it as my ‘daily driver’ because its UI isn’t an environment I’m drawn to spend time in. Maybe I just need to throw a Designers Republic poster or some VFX spaceship cockpit image behind it. 😄

Some folks might think that’s madness (‘you make music with your ears!’, ‘oooh, bright shiny colours!’ etc.). I reckon anyone who would describe themselves as ‘visual’ will get it though.

I recall there was a thread on the AB forum (as it was then) about visuals and their importance a few years back, so I won’t re-hash the topic for general discussion.
Edit: for anyone interested, it was this thread: https://forum.loopypro.com/discussion/39818/app-design-do-looks-matter/p1
