With the free versions of both apps being so generous anyway, maybe ppl should be buying the IAPs to support anyway! What you get in dawnbeat for free is pretty incredible!

For anyone that hasn’t seen it: Wavebox editor added a feature where you can autoslice and send directly to Dawnbeat.

@HotStrange Nice integration you need the IAP in Wavebox to use it though, so you could say it’s a money grab and Dawnbeat should have auto slice built in. Now if both these apps were combined into one we be on a winner.

Definitely enjoy both apps so happy to buy both IAP

Have you compared wavebox and hokusai? As great as auditor seems to be I think it might be overkill for me.

I’ve never used Auditor but I think I personally prefer Wavebox. That said I haven’t used Hokusai all that much.

Auditor is good but it does way more than I need and I don’t find it very intuitive either. I never took to Hokusai. Wavebox is my new “goto” - easy and fun. I happily bought the IAP even though I didn’t need it. I think this dev is giving away too much of his work for free. I’m glad to support this type of dev without hesitation.

  • Diggin Wavebox - so quick and easy, cool there is desktop version too. It’s loads Apple Loops .caf files - most apps/daws don’t so that’s a nice little bonus

He definitely is giving away far too much for free. I'm gonna snap up that wavebox iap to support

  • Glad to see people is getting on the wavebox bandwagon xD

  • I can’t think of anything that is this fast and easy to process FX on the iPhone , with AU’s especially. IAP purchased, killer stuff

I’m not like the rest of these junkies. This is my first dedicated audio editor since PeakLE on my iBook G4. 🙃

I definitely agree. Even his photo editing app - also great - is free for most of the features. I haven’t gotten the IAP for Dawnbeat yet but I plan on doing it when I get paid.

  • If it was possible to load separate fx per pad in DawnBeat - including AU’s - that would be insane

  • Now with time stretching and buses 🔥

  • Is the latest update broken I’m dragging pads into a mixer bus but nothing happening ?

Haven’t had a chance to try yet but hopefully this isn’t the case. Maybe worth emailing the dev? He’s very active after all.

Cool update, though. Getting closer and closer to an actual 404 haha. Great app so far.

I’ve been adding them to the bus from the adjusts screen.

  • You can add different effects to different busses in the same way. It’s a really nice update 👍

Where is the new “Time stretching” function ? I can’t find it

    [edit] I found it, it’s here :

It seems, sometimes, dragging pads into mixer is not working

  • Without opening the mixer, tap and hold 'PADS' , drag a pad

I don’t think it’s a function that uses dragging. Just select the pad, go to the Adjust tab and tap on the bus button on the upper left.

It's a bug, dragging should work, but sometimes doesn't.

I don’t see any indication it’s a drag function. The only thing dragging pads does is the repeat function unless I’m missing another screen or menu.

  • Nice update. Really liking Dawn Beat. I thought I was satisfied with Koala for this sort of thing >:)

Just press on the “Pads” orange bar in the middle of the screen then you can drag and drop

Does say drag and drop? All sorted now as usual hidden features but once you know it’s a neat way of working. The manual now needs updating. Hope the dev can add panning. It nice to see this app moving on.

OK I get it. Thanks for clarifying! I’m not really awake yet but this update got my heart started! 😆

It does seem that under certain conditions it doesn’t work as expected though. And then it seemed like it locked in and did work.

No matter, this app (if it’s your style of working) is reaching monster status!

  • I emailed dev about individual pad mute/solo. He’s looking into but said he’s also working on more updates. I suggested a tip jar because IMHO the app is under-priced. 😎👍🏼

I emailed him about a bug where selecting the additional sequences (32 or 48) will make the sequencer block graphics slide down the screen instead of over, covering up other functions and are not usable in this state. First things first 😃

I haven’t run into that one yet! I’m trying to watch a foreign film with my son the film student and peek at DB at the same time! 😆

  • @db909 I haven’t got the devs email. Just tried the beta of replicant 3 inside Dawnbeat and realised with the sequencer running the effect doesn’t work. There are quite a few iOS effects apps that need the sequencer running to work so be good if the dev was made aware of that.

  • Hopefully drag and drop will come to side load from Samplecrate.

Also badly want this for DawnBeat
