FWIW - I think the built-in browser is fine. I can access any folder in Files and preview right in the app. Doesn’t access AudioShare but I typically use that for preparing sample and then move them to Files anyway.

It's the lack of audioshare support that is a bit annoying for me, I also just love sample crate and its easy ability to quickly listen to audio files.

I emailed dev about individual pad mute/solo. He’s looking into but said he’s also working on more updates. I suggested a tip jar because IMHO the app is under-priced. 😎👍🏼

I emailed him about a bug where selecting the additional sequences (32 or 48) will make the sequencer block graphics slide down the screen instead of over, covering up other functions and are not usable in this state. First things first 😃

I haven’t run into that one yet! I’m trying to watch a foreign film with my son the film student and peek at DB at the same time! 😆

I’ve been accused of infidelity for exactly this kind of behavior. 😂

This does not happen on my iPad 8 iOS 16.3. It slides horizontally as expected. FWIW 😎👍🏼

I don't see any point for adding direct AudioShare support. AudioShare's files are all accessible via Files. Imo, the AudioShare sharing protocols are artifacts of the era before Files app when there was no other alternative to sharing. It doesn't make sense to me for developers of modern apps to add AudioShare specific support.

In Files, on the left hand side tap to make sure the Locations are expanded. If they are and you don't see AudioShare listed then tap on the three dots towards the top of Files and choose Edit Sidebar and you should see Audioshare listed. Tap to make sure it is set to display. These instructions are for iOS16. For iOS12-15, the steps are slightly different but essentially the same.

Thanks, I think this is what I have for ages but in this case, it cannot be used in DawnBeat as it is just not selectable (greyed)

It looks like all the file providers are grayed out. That seems like something for the developer to look into (Documents and Dropbox should also be available)

Wow. I’m getting the greyed out AudioShare on both iPhone & iPad. Browsing AudioShare in the same developer’s Wavebox app is working fine. You may to drop him a note. (Whoops, I apparently type way slower than @espiegel123 )

They might be disabled because the app wants to link to the files and not copy them into the project?

So yes, this is something the developer of the app has to look into and maybe give an option to import/copy the files rather than just reference it with a link to the file.

As far as I know there's no way to 'link' to files served by a file-provider extensions such as AudioShare, DropBox, Readle Documents etc. so the app has to copy the file to its own container before it can use them.

  • I’ve stopped using AudioShare to store files pretty much. The Files app works fine for that and Wavebox is good for prepping files.

  • This Dev has exceeded my expectations. The bypass AU FX was still added even though buses were added. Time stretch too? All in one update? Dag.

Thanks for posting the screenshots everyone, especially grateful for yours @cuscolima. I never worked have found warp there, or drag from orange.

    Good point

@anickt yeah I think I should consider stopping using Audioshare also

Agreed. I rarely use audioshare anymore but it was a mainstay for a long time.

@anickt not the quantize & swing for sequences over 1 bar but he did say 2 days ago that he is gonna fix. He is very responsive though so hopefully a quick fix on it’s way

I’m still exploring this so I haven’t done anything serious with it yet. The ability to use AUfx is pretty cool in conjunction with the new busses. 😎👍🏼

Sweet! Just getting better and better. Polyphonic pads as in more than one pad at once or can you map a chord to one single pad?

A single pad can play chords, chords are not mapped, you have to play the notes with the built-in piano or a MIDI controller. (or overlap notes recording)
The memorizer and the sequencer can record these polyphonic events.

The guide is updated, there is a small video for polyphonic pads.

so every possible folder in Files that contains audio files is inaccessible (grayed out) to the function in the app that says “Select a folder containing audio files”?

    what am i missing

The folders are grayed out? Audio files should be , because you are choosing a folder not a file. Folders should be active and selectable. Once you are inside the desired folder tap on 'Open' at top-right.

Honestly playing the notes and having the app capture it sounds much more intuitive for me. Thanks! Can’t wait to give it a go later.

My Audiobus is also greyed-out, to both Dawnbeat and Koala. In fact, every audio file seems greyed-out for these apps :(

Is there some kind of permissions thing, like in MacOS? I’ve looked, but can’t find anything.

It’s looking for a folder to import which is why the files are greyed out. You can’t import folders from AudioShare unfortunately. In koala you can get around it by changing the ‘mic’ record option to ‘import file’. Tap a pad and you’ll get a file browser that can access individual files in AudioShare. Dawnbeat doesn’t appear to have an option for individual files like this though.

I’ve moved all my files out Audioshare now as this problem turns up in other apps like Sitala as well. I store my samples in Beatmaker’s file structure and point Koala, Dawnbeat etc at that.

Is that SampleCrate then? Does that volume icon suggest audio-preview on selection, I wonder?
