    Not to my knowledge.

  • Several Fonexis apps are 33%-50% off - guitar and bass lesson apps

  • I can’t recall any audiokit app ever being at $10

  • Just checked price history on appsliced. VHS highest is $4.99. Saga was $3.99, leo1 bass did jump to $99.99 several times, but that was the first in the limited edition series, so I guess they were experimenting with the whole limited Edition idea and stayed at $3.99/2.99 most of the time. Retro piano made it up to $99.99 a few times, but mostly at $3.99/$2.99

Lol.... Bloody inflation. This is why I stay away from the UK. I like to remember it as it was a few decades back, when you could get a 10-pack of fags for a quid (am I remembering those 80s prices of my teenage years right?!) and a creme egg for 20p (or was it 15?).

I remember getting both a slush puppy and a packet of hubba bubba for 20p…

A huge, steaming bag of salted hot chips wrapped in newspaper for sixpence.

    This century is rubbish.

The most British thing I’ve heard all day. ❤️

  • @ghost_forests Lol. Totally. A candy bar and a bag of crackers for a buck.

  • I remember being able to pick up a flagon of groggy mead for a farthing

  • Just a heads up, Klevgrand sale ends tomorrow. Trying to decide if I want Grand Finale 2 or not. Do a lot bought Brusfri.

Are you mostly using it at the end of a master chain or each node in AUM as a mastering FX?

Also how does it compare to say, Trinity or other plugins like Toneboosters stuff.

I’ve been eyeing it since it came out but keep going back and forth.

Thank goodness I found this thread in time.

GF2 is perfect, and I haven’t seen trinity until now but it looks like you can’t use it within the DAW, big no for me.

GF2 isn’t understood well because the interface is a little trickier than it looks. You have gentle, medium, and aggressive for almost each parameter. You can turn each one on or off and change the characteristic of each module. For example, if you want to use the MBC but not the high mids, you can turn that one off, leave the others on, and then tweak each band characteristic.

That’s the subtle part. You don’t notice the difference until you really try each version of the module (be it compressor or anything else with a drop menu).

You can also chain at end of stuff like drums, but I don’t know how I feel about using a mastering tool on each track or group. You can though! And if it makes your music sound better do it. Do not hesitate if you got Brusfri and love it.

About Brusfri, I mean how often do you use it and how well does it work? Are there any other Klevgrand must haves for this area of mixing or mastering plugins? I don’t have a lot of background noise when I record but I don’t know how powerful it is because if it’s like GF2, I want it as long as people find it useful on all audio track projects. I also don’t see or hear much about it so I wanted to ask someone who is looking at the same dev tools.

I think Klevgrand should get more recognition! And I wish I knew about the sale sooner. I could definitely use some finishing tools. So GF2 is a must have, but is there anything else (Brusfri?)

REAMP is a great buy, it’s a great special sauce I use often.

Nice comment, thanks. How do you think GF2 compares to TB Barricade? I'm torn between these two.

  • @HotStrange I personally use GF2 on the master buss in AUM. I've only ever used Barricade as a limiter, in a very simple way. Never used Trinity because I need an auv3 that works while I'm demoing apps in aum. The only other app I've used in a similar way is medusa by FAC which I also really like. I've never really taken the time to compare those two though. TB MBC I have only really used for sound design more and have not explored it deeply.

    No worries :)

It sounds like you’re worried about limiters?

In that case, I recommend Barricade over all other limiters. I think Toneboosters are as good if not better than FabFilter on iOS. It is priced right, very light load, and it has a compressor too!

If you are asking about GF2 limiter, it has one but I do not think you can adjust it. If you can I can’t see where. The limiter works but it has a high threshold. I think adding a stock limiter or free limiter after GF2 might be good insurance if you’re worried about spikes.

If you are trying to decide what to spend the $10 on between them, I also think it’s your need. I’d say get GF2 while it’s on sale. It has a lot to offer your tracks. If you can’t figure out why your spikes keep happening, try a stock limiter (what DAW are you using?). However, if you can master on your own, I think Barricade and Equalizer are all you need from Toneboosters. Actually, they also have the MBC too, but now we’re at almost $30 versus $7.99. So for price, get GF2.

If you want something that has an LUFS AND can do it all, get GF2 for mastering. If you have some other plugins and you need an LUFS and Limiter (with a bonus compressor) get toneboosters.

    Get GF2. support Klevgrand!
(Without these iOS devs we would have to resort to analog or PC so after gF2 Then support TB later when you have a other $10)

  • Guitar Presto - Chords Tabs & Scales is free usually $2-$3

All apps by this developer Hugo Piñon are currently Free usually $2-$3, there’s a bunch of vintage camera filter apps and other stuff

Check the bundle too, if still available it was the same exact price to get GF2 and the original Grand Finale. Sure it’s lower quality, very similar app, but if you have an older device you can use the original. To me I wanted the bundle of both GF1 and GF2 at the same price as just GF2, just in case it came in handy, or was useful in some way. So definitely double check to see if that’s still available since it’s basically 2 apps for the price of 1.

They also make a good point about the sale. TB never goes on sale, once in a super rare occasion they adjust prices nominally, but basically they are already priced to sell. So im not recommending one over the other as much as im saying take advantage of the sale while it’s available, then save up and grab the other one that will most likely still be the same price. I have both, and I use both, and… I like both, lol.

  • I checked…

It is still available but I can not see the price since I purchased it.

    Grand Finale Update Bundle

    $6 it says to update

I rather use it for Brusfri for another polishing app (meaning something to refine mix or master), besides GF2 is there something else to look at ? Or does Brusfri work for audio and instruments ?

I am worried it wouldn’t run properly in Zenbeats because I read so many plug ins don’t work in Zenbeats

What do you say? Brusfri or something else ?

  • edited August 2023

@dreamcartel It’s hard to say since I don’t know what your options already are and how you like to work. It’s a tough one because they are different apps. both are very useful but for different things. Both are good, and both are worth having for their own individual reasons.

Brusfri will listen and clean up background noise, and other artifacts either when recording audio, when playing/making audio in real time, or on any audio recording. So it basically cleans up the background noise of any audio.

GS2 has multiple built in fx to basically help you master a track. Basically good on your mix bus and master bus channels. Also useful in standalone to master a mix.

I’m not super familiar with Zenbeats but Brusfri and GS2 both work well in standalone. In AUM it’s super easy to bus channels. create different mix buses and a master bus, then pop GS2 in the fx slot.

Unfortunately I can’t really help you that much. I’d watch a YouTube video or 2 of each app and see which one helps you more.

Update - also I wasn’t suggesting get GF1 if you already have GF2, but if you are in the market for GF2 or purchased GF1, you can get both at the same price or get a discount if you paid for GF1.

MBC is amazing on a bus, it can do a lot for sound design for sure but I’ve worked some absolute magic out of it on some recordings that ended up needing a lot of work cos the levels were messed up. I was able to squash the low end and bring up some high mids with the upward compression without making everything sound flat, it’s a really fantastic tool
