I’m a big Mellotron fan. How does it sound compared to other iOS offerings? I have Sampletron and and Mellowsound but have only heard great things about Manetron.

I don’t have any of those, so I’m not sure. The developer did some demos you might want to watch to compare them, this one for example (and more on his YT channel)

I saw those! Ended up getting it. For $.99 why not. It sounds good! But I can’t figure out how to get back to the main screen once you select the tape reel view.

    click on the tapes

Thanks guys. It’s always the most obvious answer 🤦🏻‍♂️ dunno how I didn’t try that.

Just bought The Manetron and the Solina, they sound great! They are AUv3, it’s definitely a good deal if you like those instruments.

    An interesting 11 seconds:

Is the beginning of Bungalow Bill an original Mellotron sample or did the Beatles write it themselves? If it’s the latter, you can’t really use that preset in a track of your own without copywrite issues.

I think they may have written it. I have the
Mellotron XL app. It includes all of the weird left hand stuff- cha cha cha, swinging flutes, etc. I don’t find that guitar flourish in any of the banks.

From wiki, and other sources agree:

“ The song opens with a flamenco guitar phrase, played from a standard Mellotron bank of pre-recorded rhythms and phrases by studio engineer Chris Thomas.”

That's what I remembered. The Beatles heard a Mellotron demo and decided right there and then they needed one for their next album.

    It's a Mellotron sample.

Don't ask me about the opening of "All You Need Is Love"...

Blue Mangoo aka Mani Consulting Ltd. Has a few new Bundles

Clean Effects Bundle - 10 apps only $25

    Guitar Effects Bundle - 10 apps $25

He finally made the new bundles. Thanks for the heads up. These appear to be a really good deal to complete, if you've already bought some of them at full price. They are very similar. At a glance the difference is Clean Effects bundle offers Multiband Haas and Multiband Compressor and Guitar Effects has Gain Stage Acoustic & Vintage Clean.

Thanks! I feel better about using that in a track now. I love that song - and album - a lot but it’s not my favorite Beatles record.

Everyone almost says FabFilter (definitely Q3 and L3) is the way to go, or is tonebooster not going to have a sale?

And does Logic have those types of mixing tools (I know they have them but I mean are they as good as fab filter?) but visual tools?

I use TB plugins and I'm an happy customer. FF are great indeed, but more expensive.

Tone Booster and Fabfilter are really pro ones. For Deep house I like to glue all with TB Barricade , for subtle Ambient Fabfilter. Both can be use depending music style input and what you need as output. In Cubasis the waves IAP are not so good when compare to TB and FabFilters. You can use them too in other Daw or setup.

In LP I use only what is provided by Apple. Pro, do the job but for Deep house I miss TB barricade.

Both are great. Biggest difference is FF are iPad only. TB doesn’t go on sale due to the relatively low prices already. FF does go on sale but maybe 3 times a year.

Yeah, they’re great these - I’ve had them for years as one long track - think it’s all there in those three - as I’m a bit of a Beatle nut.

    I finally found it!
It’s the lowest F on the Trombone bank.
The only guitar in the trombone bank.
    Go figure…
It was a stock loop shipped with the MkII model.
