How do I set the output for each synth when using multi out? They seem to be all over the place and it's sixteen of'em so AUM get's crowded as f. I would like synth 1 to be the first child (2) and the second second(3). I can't find an option for this anywhere and don't think the manual has been updated either. I probably shouldn't ask why it's sixteen outputs as I most likely wont understand the reply.🙄

I haven’t found any way to control the separate outputs. It seems you have to keep opening new separate out channels in AUM until you get the ones you need. Then go back and delete the ones you don’t need.

That's a AUM thing with multi out. If I remember correctly, when you open your multi outputs, there are numbers next to them like "2". Click the number or the node (can't remember which one) to get a list of all outputs from which to choose from.

Yeah sure but that does not tell you which of the 8 synths in Strokes that (#) it's dedicated to. One would think that the first would go to number two and the eight to number nine (and everything ordered between those). Then of course there are another 8 to scratch my already bald scalp over

Yes, that's what I was referring to. For me it's working exactly like that. I've tried to set up voices 1 3 and 8 and got them forwarded to multi 2 4 and 9. But it seems it didn't answer your question, sorry about that!

Oh, that's alright, I appreciate you. I wonder why I get them spread so randomly then(?). Maybe because I added all sixteen (to get a clue what the last eight does)

EDIT: Okay, I started a new one and it's in the logic area you can shift the out # for the bottom row synths. So that's probably what I had done unknowingly in the first project.

Hi, what I've experienced is that from a default set up Strokes allocates multi-outs 1-8 just like all the other multi-out apps do (I have no idea what channels 8-16 are) but in Strokes settings page you can set the midi out channel for grid CH1-4 and Logic CH1-4 this setting also seems to alter the multi-out destination - more a bug than a feature? It's been doing my head in too! I've just asked about it on Discord.

Hi, Yeah I just edited my reply above without seeing your comment but yes, I figured that out too now. The last eight will get their answer too, someday :D

The last 8 seem to be the delay and reverbs for each channel

Sheesh, thank you, they absolutely are :p

Yeah, thanks! Gotta see how one can use that .. :)

Edit: Seems it is 10 Reverb and 11 Delay (at least for me). Still four to solve 🤓

  • Great to see quite a big Strokes update drop this morning with version 3.11.2:

    • Improved the quality of the amplitude envelopes. They now function as an AD rather than ADSR. What this means is that the entire attack & decay stages will play on each note event. If another note trigger occurs during the attack stage, it won't reset to the beginning of the attack. If a note trigger occurs during the decay phase, it'll reset to the start of the decay stage. This results in better sound quality and less clicks.

    • Load a sample button now asks for confirmation if you have a sample already loaded

    • When changing from euclidean to step mode, copy the euclidean rhythm to step mode if steps are blank.

    • Fixed an issue where setting decay high and adding modulation would destroy all the synth voices.

    • Tutorial overlay play button displays at correct resolution.

    • Keyboard modals display current note / root note.

    • Change naming of voice modulation params for Matrix.

I'm hoping the next update will provide the option to copy patterns between the pattern slots. John the dev responded positively to the idea.

  • Great! A lot of stuff flying under the radar right now...

Great intro / tutorial covering some of the basics of Strokes from Nu-Trix:

  • Didn’t know Strokes was shown at Superbooth. Cool!

  • Looks like an intriguing update

  • Oooooohhhh….

  • 👀 that's my activities for tonight sorted then

Now that's a beautiful looking UI for me, in terms of colours etc

  • Looks like it’s available for Desktop now. <3

  • It'll be a very playful update (I tested the beta), I'm happy it seems to reach release stage!

  • Oh cool! Another app that I need to dust off and revisit.

Btw, Leo (aka @sfm) has an excellent tutorial video on Strokes, which I’m sure was posted a couple pages back, but is definitely helpful in breaking through the getting started barrier with this app.

  • Just saw this on Facebook. It sounds fantastic!

  • Strokes just keeps growing-up! This performance update is shockingly fun - I’ve lost sooooo much beta-time just noodling! I can’t wait to see what everyone else does with it 😛

This guy is one hardworking smart dude!

  • Just caught the video does look like a super update. That controller is like something out of Spider-Man !

He really is. The cross fading between projects looks nuts. The happy accident machine just got a lot happier.

  • It’s in the AppStore!

  • This is absolutely nuts! Well I know how my brain will be thorn to pieces this weekend. Thanks @congburn

  • This app just gets better and better. Big props to the dev for this. This is like the 4th or 5th game changing update he’s done on the app. Not many devs put that much work into simply evolving their AUs much less into something totally different than it was (in a good way of course). Stoked to try it out tonight.
