@krassmann : I’ve been getting more into ntrack9.. It really is decent, especially w the 10gigabyte suite version. Is your DAW of choice Logic Pro?
One more sleep!
I‘m happily in love with Bitwig. It‘s exactly the crossover between DAW and a modular instrument that I want. It feels like Drambo on steroids married with a full featured DAW. Ntrack looks really good but I don’t want to go back to a DAW that kind of resembles a multi-track tape. I want a clip based workflow and massive modulation capabilities. I virtually replaced automation with modulation and randomization. Since Bitwig can import Ableton Live .als files there is a way to continue tracks I started on the iPad with apps that export to Ableton. I already bought some of my iOS synths again for desktop and that works well for me. Therefore I’d be super happy about desktop versions of Bram‘s apps. Anyway, I‘ll definitely buy Hilda tomorrow. ❤️
I think since I moved mostly to desktop I think I actually spend less for music production. All theses $15 synths I bought on the iPad and virtually never use… On the desktop I bought my DAW Bitwig, the Arturia V collection and some of my favorite iOS synths and not much more.
When it come to budget I agree with you I bought as Daw Logic Pro , It go all what you can dream , got what I do and I was not in need to bought any VST. For sure I spend much more monney than the price of Logic Pro X in apps that I dint use so much.
Anyway I use more the IPad as it is more instinct to touch a screen and I am fed up to use a mouse it doesn’t make me creative.
And on the 800 + iOS apps ot many are stable even useable and some are dead but still on sales so you pay for nothing if you buy a death apps.
Two more sleeps DAMMIT
Was gonna say, what time zone is that you're on! Haha
Just need to take longer sleeps, problem solved.
Site is up! http://ruismaker.com/hilda/
Ready!
Sequencer looks amazing.
In the description it fit all what I need including weird sounds.
In some aspects it looks like an evolution of Ripplemaker (sequencer, external input, touch pads). I'm definitely excited about this one; it'll scratch some of the itch for a Music Easel/iOS Aalto.
Also, the sequencer being available as AU and having step duration should satisfy what some were asking about in the "bassline sequencer" thread.
And manual!
Thanks @brambos for the manual my dream will be that more dev have a manual for their app like you do.
looks like a real beast!!
Cool you can also use it’s sequencer to sequence other auv3s.
I wish it were a poly synth. Is there any host that can polychain?
Well, you could use several instances running through Polythemus. Pretty sure there is also a Mozaic script that would enable this, but forget the name.
I doubt this will be anything like a traditional synth you want to use in a polyphonic way, probably way more like a strange experimental voodoo kind off thing.
Navichord (IAA) also allows to send every chord voice to a different MIDI channel, allowing you to do a similar thing (without the need for polythemus/mozaic but IAA only)..
Reading through, so freaking cool!
Oh yeah.
From the ‘Space Section’
This circuit is loosely based on an effect chip originally designed for cheap karaoke machines, but these days popular in DIY guitar pedals due to its lo-fi sound character. Its 1-bit oversampling design adds a nice bit of noisy character as echoes decay into aliased artifacts.
Hopefully Doug will do a pre release demo tomorrow nite.
Thanks for the suggestions. As someone who is obsessed with analog FM or ringmod type sounds, this will be a dream come true!
Few surprises while reading the manual...
Looking forward to interacting with ‘fx pads’
Sequencer:
5. Quantize selection - set the duration of each step (from 1 bar to 1/16th notes)
6. Gate duration of each note (sustain time)
Does this mean that we can select a step and adjust these properties for each individual step?
Very glad to see this, only wondering about the UI/UX aspect.
Time to hear this lady scream some more
i found it super sad that even such great dev with so much amazing apps in appstore needs daily job to pay the bills .. hope it turns for you in good way and you find even better job than previous one !
5 and 6 are referring to two settings at the sequencer level, I expect them to be global, not per step
Sad indeed , when I started to become dev a senior dev told me , « if you want to make money dev for windows not for Mac , you cannot make a living doing software for Mac users « so I was dev on windows software. Seems that except if you work as dev for Apple company it is difficult to make a lot of monney as a Mac Dev even these days.
Yes, that was my first assumption based on pictures, but the manual suggests more... each step/each note, which would be a very welcome addition
