  • BTW, did Apple finally fixed AUv3 extension not seeing Documents folder of the parent app ? That has been a longstanding issue. I did some research over the weekend and file management STILL sucks on iOS in 2025.

In order to do that you have to a Security Scoped URL from the AUv3.

On first launch of the AUv3 the user points the AUv3 to a folder visible in Files.app, this will set the proper permissions and only needs to be done once...
(As an example Drambo uses a security scoped url to allow both AUv3 and stand-alone to use the same files which can then be managed with Files.app. There's a bunch more apps that already use this as well).

This works reliably on iPadOS17+ on prior iOS versions this was a be a bit 'shaky'.

  • I've been digging deeper in to Synthmaster 2 again lately. What a joy. I can't wait for 3 to come to iOS. 💕

  • Still have a looong way to go, but there is progress :)
