Someone please test on your M1 (or M2) Mac/iMac Pro/Macbook Pro to see if it'll run as an AU in GarageBand and Logic Pro?

It runs perfectly inside Drambo on M1/M2 and the dev has tested it in Logic Pro as well.

  • Nice! I’ll always get anything Beepstreet. Sadly I’m about to go to work so can’t try it out until tomorrow. Good price though.

Bought it and will check for myself. ;)

  • Instabought. And thanks for the manual, it clarifies some doubts.

  • And here’s a little tip: put two in series. Or in parallel, I don’t care

  • There are presets, but final effect strongly depends on input sound, it's spectral content, dynamics and level. It's quite unpredictable.

  • This sounds amazing. I am happy to see BeepStreet coming out with a new app. Hopefully more to come @giku_beepstreet

  • my goodness! my ears like the sounds of this :))

    so playable :))

so far, i fed it drums from lumbeat, and monkey twiddled screen for instant joy!

    thanks for a great plug-in

  • $4.99 in the states.

I like the idea of using it subtly to liven up sounds, or make things more organic.

OK, after a quick test in Logic Pro macOS, I can report it works... but to preserve your ears and speakers, use a limiter that is dialed WAY down. Some of the presets result in a massive and unexpected increase in volume. Ugh. Huge headache now.

Honestly, this would be a better plugin if it had a built in limiter.

For the sake of your users ears, @giku_beepstreet please consider building in a limiter.

Just curious, why Dry/Wet isn’t enough for you?

If people are flicking through presets, the dry / wet will already be set. apesoft and amazing noises are also devs that have some apps that should never be initially tested without a limiter. It's an unavoidable problem with apps using resonance as the preset designers may have made the preset based on totally different sonic input. But NeuM is right, it makes sense for apps that have that risk to have limiters built in

Agreed. Apps like this should definitely have a limiter or at least explicitly say in the description to be wary of noise. I’ve gotten to the point where when I’m testing new extreme types of effects and synths, I’ll just throw a limiter on it just to be safe.

Same, but yes, it takes experience to learn that. Often that experience involves having at least once previously having destroyed a set of headphones or had a very bad ear experience, hopefully nothing permanent. So yeah, a warning message at least would be wise

Yep I learned it the hard way for sure 😂 ApeFilter especially can be quite damaging. I’ve seen an app description with a warning before but can’t remember what it is.

Flickering through the presets, ahh well, I can see this to be a problem. But don’t we all already have a favorite limiter waiting in the master channel. Do we need extra processing on every resonance susceptible fx?!

Not everyone even has a 'master channel' set up, particularly when just playing around. A lot of newbies wouldn't even know what a master channel or a limiter is, to be fair 🤷‍♂️

  • Anyway, tell me about Combustor! Is it living up to the hype? Can what it does be done with combos of other fx, maybe resonatedo plus some other stuff?

  • Here is my walkthrough and demo for Combuster, I too highly suggest you put a limiter on each Combuster track or the master channel.
That said, I think Combuster is truly brilliant.

I hope you enjoy the video

Just tried with Twin3 this morning, I love ’Tune’ and ‘Bend’ with slight feedbacking. True magic happened when I started to automate those buttons. So far I like it.

    Will buy soon.

Not sure limiter would be good.

Just a warning in app description.

Id remove limiter for every patch. Thinking the app would work better without a limiter. Maybe the feedback wouldnt be working properly etc.

  • @thesoundtestroom Thanks Doug, great to see and here it in action. Presumably the Bend function is related to the ‘time bending’ but is it possible to pinpoint exactly what it is doing?

  • edited June 2023

Fantastic .. Interesting that it does much more interesring things to simple sounds than to complex ones .. works greatly on just sine or triangle mixed a little bit with noise …

@giku_beepstreet Amazing job ! Adds real life to the sound !

Re limiters. Why not just have a template where it is always present? I have a limiter in every host I use on desktop and iPad. Load the template when you start your session, limiter is always present. Fx don't need limiters.

  • Oh by the way - there is also a warning in the manual contained in the standalone app @NeuM

Maybe an ALL CAPS warning should be displayed in the App Store description. This is really not a safe plugin for an average user, especially not for all of the new users of Logic Pro on iPadOS.

If I knew I was selling a plugin to the public which could destroy their sound equipment or hearing, I’d certainly want to reduce my personal and business liability as much as possible, wouldn’t you?

  • top app. right up my street.
