KQ Voice Plugins by Kira Q Tech (Released)

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/kq-voice-plugins/id6450491216

This is a set of Audio Units including Loopback, Vocoder, Pitch Shifter, and Noise Suppression. A host application that can handle Audio Units is required for use.

Loopback:
Connects to each other and transfers audio between host applications. MIDI signals can also be transferred.

Vocoder:
This effect processes the sound of a synthesizer or other carrier with the input sound (modulator) and outputs it. It creates a so-called robot voice by inputting a voice or other sound. By default, Saw (sawtooth wave) is specified as the carrier, but it can also be input from a sidechain or Vocoder Input Audio Unit.

Pitch Shifter:
An effect that changes the pitch of the sound.

Noise Suppression:
A noise removal filter using RNNoise. This machine learning filter is optimized for voices.

Oh wow, I wonder how the loop back is for moving audio between logic and aum? Would maybe make me subscribe to logic after all if I can use sculpture easily in my aum sessions 😂

  • Gav always thinking 👏🏾👏🏾

  • Although a few ipads.

Were thinking maybe fieldscaper /bleass voice combo. Drambo/aum. Aum/drambo.

and maybe app is less cpu than brusfi?

Can u easily sync logic and aum? Have never used 2 daws simultaneously

So what exactly would be the use case for this?

  • edited June 2023

Depending on how good it is it might be worth the price just for the noise suppressor. That’s one thing I don’t have right now that I need.

Also a super simple pitch shifter could be great as an AU.

Inter-host means between hosts though. If it can't do that, I also don't get the point. To route audio inside a host you would just use busses etc

Cool! And so you could use this new app of yours to send synced audio from logic to aum, for example?

Yes with latency. however, Logic corrects it.

True, I totally forgot about that app. I did use it a few times for sending from desktop to iPad

Long time since I used it, it worked but I think I remember some latency, not sure

  • Some signal dropout maybe too.

I would be interested to hear what people make of this. SonoBus does this with audio but is a pain to set up, VisualSwift had a couple of inter-host MIDI/audio plugins but I’m not sure you can still get it. “Wireless Audio AUv3” does this for audio and works pretty well.

Use case is getting MIDI and/or audio in/out of DAWs which don’t normally allow it. Think Zenbeats or GarageBand. How about having NS2 Obsidian as a lane in AUM?

Can multiple sender/receive pairs be used, and can we send one-to-many or many-to-one?

Edit: does the plugin remember what it was connected to when you load a project containing the plugin in a host and does it reconnect automatically?

I don't know what the pain is about that with SonoBus. There are only three steps: Click 'connect', give a group name and connect to that group. Do the same for the opposite host and you're done. There is latency but it is acceptable and unavoidable. I have not had any dropouts so far.
And there is a list of the last connections in SonoBus, you select the one you want and then you are connected to that group. I think it could hardly be simpler. Great tool and it’s free.

Just four pairs included. Super easy setup. Just insert Loopback 1 In and Loopback 1 Out. Then they are connected each other automatically.
    Not many-to-one nor one-to-many.

This was SOOO easy to set up and works wonderfully!! IAA usage in Logic Pro is now a THING! MIDI and Audio! Thanks @RyoutaKira.. you performed magic here

  • Demo using two DAWs simultaneously. I don't feel latency.

Oh, works for midi too? Nice!

  • I also felt no latency

  • This is awesome. Also, Logic and AUM can be synced using Ableton Link.

I certainly agree that it is a great tool, but there was enough friction in the setup for me to stop using it. I was trying to use multiple instances and having to set up each end manually was fine for a one-off session but did not scale for a project that was going to be worked on over many weeks. To be fair to SonoBus, the author did mention somewhere in this thread that using the plugin in this way is not what it was designed for, and so it is understandable that automatic reconnection was not a feature https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/43076/use-sonobus-to-expose-daw-tracks-to-aum/p1 .

I know that VisualSwift used some clever internal mechanism to communicate between plugin instances, which was not reliant on the network stack and so offered lower latency.

  • The above statement is correct. This is first and foremost a Voice plugins suite!! That’s it’s original intent

  • Wireless audio AUv3 by secret base designs works too for audio from AUM to logic, and I’ve used generators from AUM to send midi to logic, other way around would be cool too. Gonna check this one out too see how it compares. Maybe I should’ve made a post about wireless AUv3 thing, it works on the same device between AUM and logic as well. I just assume I’m an idiot and y’all already figured it out anyway so it doesn’t matter what I say really lol Would be better if it audio could be sent on multiple “ports” though. Multiple instances of this app. I’ll check it out at the very least maybe I could use both apps and have multiple ports

Users in our group are having various issues setting up Sonobus

  • So has anyone tried this to route Sculpture in Logic to AUM?

Also how are the other modules?
