Yeh, it works - at least for audio. I don't know how it works with midi. I haven't tried that as I can't think of any use for it.
I loaded Soft Drummer in AUM with Loopback In 1 in the FX slot, then added an AU instrument track in NS2 and added Loopback Out 1 as the instrument.
TYSM! That’s really helpful.
He’s back!
Having lots of fun with this now we can have IAA in logic.
I tried out some gadget instruments and it works a treat! Had a couple of latency issues but I found if you flick the new latency compensation knob up and down it syncs for recording on beat in LP.
Amazing! So you can record IAAs in logic? On the App Store it says - ‘note that you might not do the recording inter app’
Yes, by Busing to an audio track as a “Send”
Yes you can!
Time to add some Thor to my Logic tracks:)
Ohhhhh Yeah!!!!
With the new update meaning zero latency this is a serious addition to the toolbox!
Cool! Hoping this will enable sending midi between tracks in logic. Won’t be able to try for several hours if anyone wants to give it a whirl lol
It would be handy for sending from bus to bus in Loopy Pro, too.
Anyone yet have this Loopback MIDI to working into Logic Pro?
Are there any documentation on this app?
From Ryouta Kira:
I’m curious how many DAW’s could be configured to pass the audio in a circle back to the initial DAW.
I’d imagine a little latency would be added. But in the interest of science… I suspect the limiting factors will
Be 4 channels and how many DAW’s someone owns. So, 4 DAW’s max. I wonder if a feedback path is possible to
Create an infinite loop and approach the musical “singularity”.
Discuss.
@RyoutaKira is there any reason btw why the number of loopback instances is set to 4 ins / outs? Could that be increased?
Will maybe need this. Even though Iv got a few usb outputs from from ipad to ipad. Sorting out cpu of each ipad etc. So will try app.
On a side note. Dual ipads and trying to not stem to a daw is kind of lame. Sidechaining across ipads. Duplicates a signal where as internal dosent ( I think ) Which might mean. Not really knowing what db a track actually is. Might be ok still though. If its just a bass sidechaining synths but might try envelopes etc. Other sidechains are probably on same ipad now. lol.
The number have no meaning. It may increase.
The more the merrier!
8 would be great.
Indeed but instead of polluting the plug-in list with one AUv3 per 'output'?
Wouldn't it be smarted to give each instance a pop-up for selecting which 'port' to use?
(So instead of 4 separate AUv3's just one AUv3 with a pop-up selector).
Yes. I will not increase the number of units.
Can we route MIDI between tracks with this in Logic for iPad?
If yes, I haven’t Been able to figure that out…
I’ve done some experimenting and yes you can -
What I’m trying to achieve and I don’t think can be done yet is sending midi to multiple tracks - for example fugue machine to four synths on different midi channels per playhead.
As it stands now it looks like only one instrument can be used at a time per loopback set and midi channels cannot be filtered out.
@RyoutaKira Thanks for this amazing app - it’s great sending IAA to Logic. If there’s a way to somehow send multiple midi channels within logic as I mentioned above that would be fantastic!
Thanks for that information!!
Will try it when I’m back home…
@RyoutaKira Loving the new midi option going from AUM to Logic Pro. I’m getting “too many inputs” error even when I only have one input going. Any work arounds?
It seems to be a bug. Are you trying the version 1.1? I'm sorry for the unstable app.
Anybody try the Noise suppressor and Vocoder ?
Yes 1.1 version 23. I appreciate you taking on the problem of Interapp Audio into Logic Pro.conundrum. Hope you can sort it out thanks for your efforts. Happy to help with a TestFlight beta if you want.
