Is it universal or iPad only, or whatever it means so I can load it on my M1 Mac?

Haven't checked. The appstore always shows that info btw, when u click the 'available for this device' drop down it will show you which devices the app is available for, including Mac and whether Intel or only M1, as well as minimum OS requirements

Thank you for that, I didn’t know about that area. I always just look in product description, lol
Looks like it’s for all devices, Mac too! I’m pumped

Yep. Buy once, use everywhere. I'm using it now on both iPad Pro and iMac.

Money is tight this week so both this and Super VHS are waiting until next week. I’m stoked though, it sounds and looks AMAZING!

Shout out to @giku_beepstreet for being one of the best devs on iOS full stop. Every app is a classic.

I don’t really have the money sitting around to buy synths/effects right now either, but i got this one. I’m gonna feel this when the bill comes around.

How are you liking it so far? I’m contemplating going ahead and getting it too 😂

I actually like it quite a lot. I think there are some performance and UI issues which need to be fixed (which I listed earlier), but I'm really enjoying it so far.

Thanks! I’m a big Beepstreet fan so I’m sure I’ll love it. Sunrizer is a top 5 synth for me I think.

Love Sunrizer, but Zeeon is actually my favorite synth of theirs and Dagger is also just nice and straightforward.

Oh really? I love Zeeon for its simplicity and sound but Sunrizer is a bit more up my street, both are fantastic though. I love considered getting GSIs Krill synth but have held off due to its similarities with Zeeon. Same features for the most part but Krill has a little less modulation (I think it’s LFO are pre-routed and can’t be changed)

Anyways, Dagger looks pretty unique. The filter section is super cool. Can it be used as an effect?

What va synths are as good ( sound quality ) as Dagger but with good UI.

Only made 1 patch but Dagger sounds creamy even if a rough oscilator setting and adding medusa. To beef synths. Seems like it dosent need medusa. Although I guess you can fine tune.

    Maybe another synth isnt needed.

    Unless for character.

It's also about the sounds. It does sound unique. And you can't say that very often about new synths ;)

    @giku_beepstreet

Best filter on iOS. Period. Quality level Sherman filtebank.

Would love to have it also as AUfx ! Even as standalone payed plugin, idelly as 2 freely routable serial/parallel filter modules (whole hp+lp part of dagger as one module) with master drive - would pay same price likefor Dagger without a blink !

Add also second aufx input for FM modulation and ADSR with triggered by incoming audio and i’ll pay twice as much easily :-)

    Yep, same here 👍🏻

This has to have one of the best filters I’ve ever heard yet on IOS.

Would be best filter au but maybe it wont be quite as good.

If you cant design synth to optimise filter?

  • Damn this is good.

  • Chord mode has a bit strange behaviour for me. It holds all other notes after you hold the first one. Not really convenient. Is it intended like this?

    That is how para-phony works?!
There's only one set of envelopes and filter for all the voices.

Experiment with the gate mode of the envelope. Middle position is good for para-phony unless you intentionally way to re-trigger the envelope on each new note that gets played which could be used creatively (ie. a melody line triggers the held chord etc.).

Some of the presets use the chord mode in creative ways.

As with all new synths it takes time to get adjusted to the way they work :sunglasses:

  • Anyone know how long intro price will be available?

  • what are those arrows on the left do?

    Change presets.

  • @Birdpie said:

Preset browsing, next previous preset in the current bank.

Only when used as an AUv3 in another host.

You mean the up/down arrow top left in the piano next to the lock?
That one enables/disables vertical velocity for the piano keyboard.
Lock disables keyboard scrolling/panning, and magnifying glass changes the size.

    • on the right side is 'sustain' (ie. add notes). and the one all the way to the right is the 'connection' thing with midi settings.

I suppose this is another area in need of improvement for this synth. It needs a "(?)" button which would create a hover overlay explaining what the symbols mean on the UI.

Also, I don't know what is the purpose of the 3-position switch called "Track" in the middle/bottom of the UI. Why are there 3 positions?

  • @giku_beepstreet

Found another bug. Most of these bugs seem to be centered around the patch organization now.

If you create a new empty folder in the Patch view, select the folder, then tap on the "Share sheet" icon, it will crash the UI making everything disappear and requiring a restart.

    0%, 50%, 100% tracking...

  • i have to say it sounds much better as the vst version. or is my brain fu@king me?
